i have this copy of their pre broadway in atlanta, and the amount of cute kisses they did was amazing. i still believe izzy and caitlin’s chemistry is top tier, but theirs is the second one for me.

i love that there is a growing amount of non straight couples in musicals! i just saw Head Over Heels recently and I'm glad theater is more diverse than film! (even in film, particularly when there are lesbians, they are often misrepresented)
i think the lyrics to the broadway version are good tbh and i like how in the actual show you see the contrast of all the straight couples flaunting their relationships and having these huge promposals while emma and alyssa have to hide behind the bleachers--but in general i agree, i love this version being a full duet between emma and alyssa with them just gushing over each other and it's so cute. i wish they could both have been in the show somehow but i guess that probably wouldn't make sense.

You already have Dance With You and Unruly Heart. Although I like this version, the final one provides a good contrast. Something more hectic and high-school-like.The comedy aspect brings in more people who've never listened to a musical in their lives, and that's important when spreading a message like this. At its core, it's still about Emma and Alyssa and their journies of self-acceptance and how that cultivates their relationship, but the comedy brings everyone in. Even though I am a lesbian, I probably wouldn't listen to this show or try and find old clips and interviews (and bootlegs of the curtain call) if it took itself too seriously.
