    Which do you prefer, the crimson or the blacked out blade with the true copper color?

    • @forevermorewinds1555
      @forevermorewinds1555 Год назад +5

      I like the both of the techniques. Both are very unique. I dont know too much bout knife making, but I am wondering what a higher grit sanding would look on the blade.

    • @Marcus_Shaw
      @Marcus_Shaw Год назад +8

      Blacked with copper colour for me fwiw.
      However if the handle colours were reversed so the handle was predominantly red then the red stripe would suit better.

      @@forevermorewinds1555 this was sanded with 1500-2000 between etches. You don’t get much higher.

      @@Marcus_Shaw yeah, that might have been interesting. I’d have to go with G10 or something. I think the handle looks better in person though. It was lost quite a bit in pictures.

      To be honest man, it’s a waste of time!! Lol 😂 the first few times it’s used, that color will come off immediately, it’s cool looking but after the coffee etch it looked AMAZING!! Then it seems like it kinda lost some of that after the “crimson tide” poisoned the copper Lol

  • @AManCalledMoose

    The pattern on the blade is stunning. In fact the whole knife is amazing. The crimson process does bring something to the table, but the coffee/copper finish would get my vote on this occasion.

    The crimson is awesome, and it's definitely a good thing to add to the mental "toolbox". That said, I do personally prefer the standard copper and blacked out edge in this case. 🔥 Thanks for the awesome content!

    I love both, the red is very different, but I think that the copper look at the end of the day is what people are really gonna be attracted to the most and I myself would prefer the copper over the red even though it’s really cool, I just think the copper looks more fitting to the Knife design overall. I’ve been collecting knives for many years and my collection consists of folders and fix blades but I’ve never actually had a custom fixed blade knife in my collection. Lately I have been thinking about having someone do a custom fix blade in Damascus considering all of my collection both fix blades and folders and I have no Damascus blades at all but I would really love to have a fixed blade in Damascus, I think that the process that goes into it is amazing and the end result is absolutely beautiful. I follow a few different RUclips channels that are specifically about forging Damascus billet and blades, and your channel is the first one that I started following/watching and I think your work is amazing and would love to DM with you and maybe have you do one for me very similar to this one if not the same one, but if you would reply to my comment and maybe we could work something up and have you do a custom fix blade for me and there is no rush but I would truly appreciate having one of your knives in my collection, so please let me know if that something that you can make happen. Thanks, Tyrell. 👌🙏✌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    A beautiful damask pattern transitioning from rough to fine lines that beautifully copy the shape of the knife. The red copper line is something new that attracts attention. Definitely a great piece. The handle is somewhat faded, maybe it would be better if it were more shiny. However, this is just my preference, as always this is the work of a master and I look forward to another sample of your production.

      The handle does need a bit of buffing still. Thanks for watching!

      If you watch my forge build video you’ll see the doors. The pulley blocks are on my Amazon store. Thanks for watching.
