now, some of you may be wondering, what did i think about the fight? Hrolf is now my favorite boss in the game, hands down. he may lack in terms of story, scenery and music but his skills make up for it. absolutely phenomenal boss fight, i could go very in depth as to why he's my favorite and what specific mechanics i love but ill keep this brief.
this is without a doubt my favorite video I've ever made, as it is the best gameplay performance I've ever had against a boss in any game ever. Watching videos from SMVR, GMGOW+, GBG as well as a few other GOW youtubers made me realize how little i actually use ranged attacks in my prior videos and that my go to skills were very narrow in scope. that's why for this video i made a conscious effort to use as many skills as possible for all 3 weapons, for example, i used Frozen spike, Frozen Breach Glacial rake, Freezing Throw, Vengeful sickle, Evasive storm, Scorched sweep, Blazing Explosion, Evasive embers, Gale force, Impaling thrust and Elemental syphon which are skills i usually neglect in my videos. i also put in great effort to use some cool looking techniques such as using Evasive storm to avoid his vertical hammer slams and flying attack at 1:09, using Blazing explosion at 2:43 and timing scorched sweep to blast through his own fire sweep attack at 3:02.
on top of that i spent many hours editing the music to perfectly fit the video, it took Herculean effort to make the music for certain parts, for example timing the music to swell right as scorched sweep hit the ground at 3:02 was very difficult. ensuring Draupnir's theme came on right as i pulled out Draupnir for the first time in the fight at 6:44 was also very hard. i even had to do some very tricky audio editing to get the music at 16:13 to line up perfectly and to crescendo right as Hrolfs head came off. that last segment was a custom mix i downloaded with permission from ModM0D._.215 and that i remixed to sound exactly like the GOWR reveal trailer which I'm very Satisfied with. i also increased the saturation in sharefactory as the normal scenery for this fight has a very dull color pallet, I prefer the sharper colors.
overall i am very satisfied with how this turned out, hope you guys enjoy watching it as much as i enjoyed making it. the fight took me over 40 hours and i spent many hours working on the music.
this will probably be my last video for a little while don't worry. once NG+ comes out ill have tons of new videos to make which im looking forward to.

I've put in 40+ hours on this fight fully maxed out and my gameplay is bland and boring in comparison. You are a legend, and this was a work of art. As Mimir would say, "Impressive!"

First of all, what phenomenal fight! Leviathans fury for the finisher was elite.
Especially liked the variety of combos you executed once knocking him out of the air, your use of backstep R1 for the overhead hammer slams (didn’t know this!), your stun bar build-up awareness and optimal spear detonations. Not too mention how you micro-managed whether you had max dauntless shield charge to interrupt his red-ring aoe attack or not. Well done. 👍

This fight was utter perfection, not to mention the soundtracks you used for the video. I'd say this has become my new favorite of your no damage videos, finally dethroning the Thor fight. I loved the way you used more skills for each of the weapons, as well as dedicating multiple minutes to just using a single weapon. Not to mention the evasions, everything in my opinion was executed perfectly and the hard work you've dedicated to this game is of course admireble. Great work dude!

Wow. This is unbelievable gameplay. It's 17 minutes long but the first few already hooks you in. The dodges were so clean and I didn't know you could even shield bash that charge up attack. I thought it was just a runic attack that can stop it.

guys i think he is the greatest GOW player in history.
First and foremost, amazing gameplay. I know my sorry self would get wrecked halfway. Second, I refuese to admit the difficulty is Give me God of War. Because everytime I play on it, the boss always starts with that sheild protection status. (The white glow when they don't stagger for runic attacks). And when he does that one move where he's like, "Fall to me!" And you have to run to him and cancel it before it he finishes the attack? There's always a ground attack that traces too you so you have to block it, then charge him.
Can someone tell me if I'm going nuts, or is there something I'm missing?

It took my 3 days to beat hrolf with max level berserker armor and max level Eunice and relic. But you get beat with level 1 armor and with burdens. great job man that victory must of felt real nice
