I had looked at some of the UniFi firewalls but couldn’t get one at the time so making do with the draytek for the time being. I did upgrade my AP’s to the WiFi 6 UniFi AP’s thought so not too bad. Thanks for watching, hope you liked the video!
@@MichaelsTechTalkone thing to keep in mind, the unifi dream series are limited to a max 900mbs so you really won’t see any difference in performance, it’s basically just easier to manage, I say save your money and use the DrayTek hand build yourself a mini pc with a pfsence proxmox and whatever else , I added a hd and use it for a cashing server to cut down the reload times for the family
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. I'm on the same package with Plusnet, 900 down, 115 up. No restrictions here, but then again Plusnet is owned by BT so the infrastructure will be the same so it'll be the same level of service. Hope you enjoyed the video and you hit that sub button. 👍🏻
BT Openreach contractors have started puting plates on poles to take the the CBT and I'm would like to use my own Router/firewall for my own home network can you make a little video on what have to you have to do to moved the ISP settings over to your own router! I'm sure lost more people would like to see how it's done, is it complicated or not it is? Phill
Thanks for watching. I would like to do that type of video, but it's diffcult to do with a particluar type of firewall as not everyone will be using the same one which could cause confusion when trying to configure. If i got enough of a response asking for that then i would definitely do it.
The day to day isn't much different unless doing heavy downloading/streaming. But the upload is where i notice the biggest difference. It's definitely made a massive improvement especially with uploading for the channel.
You wanna look into the UniFi range of firewalls, they have pretty good throughput levels. Something also for a fellow network enthusiast
