- Todd Castledine joins the show for his first appearance on BTL. The guys cover a multitude of topics from tournament strategy, the mental side of bass fishing, targeting shallow water bass, and what makes the perfect tournament format.
The beauty of interviewing Todd........ You need about 6 questions for a 2 hour show. LMAO!!! Good show guys.
The stuff with Todd, Bradley, Andrew and Matt are some of my favorites
Big fan of Castledine, a true angler that you can respect, take notes when this guy talks.
Big fan of Todd. Humble confidence. Seems to always have a simple but in depth way of looking at things.
Todd Castledine is the best storyteller in fishing. And his Sportsmanship/Moral Compass is spot on.
This is Gold
Great show Matt! Todd is a great interview!
Big TODD!
I really liked this episode. I’m now a Todd Castledine fan.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. My respect for Todd Castledine is extant. I also thought he'd be an Elite to watch. I was short on hours for 2 different degrees in business at MSU when I quit going to college. Todd is right, old successes where built on old conditions, not current conditions. I bet I was OVER 50 when I learned the Palomar knot finally.
I'm a big fan of Todd. Great show, boys!
My favorite show ever
You and Tod, good people.
god that sunline ad gets me fired up
I vividly can recall fishing Hound Creek from several decades ago still.
Great show!
For maybe 4 seasons I hunted ducks on the Jefferson River 20 plus miles from 3forks that I also fished a few times. 3 plus brown trouts on sculpins, many of them. Few ducks.
Shooting pool right handed when I'm left handed naturally has been a life long challenge. 'Swinging for it' is NOT a way I fish. Never will be, but I do enjoy seeing others going the distance.
I too was 12 hours from a degree in business management at MSU and I quit going also.
Crap how did I miss this
Todd is right about the incentives part of ameture contests. Far more money floating around than in realized.
Matt you have to figure out how to target bigger fish
Do you think something needs to be done about the amount of tournaments done on some of these bodies of water? I mean some of them can withstand the pressure... esp ones with grass, and ones with miles of thick cypress trees where no boats will ever be able to get back in to. But some of them have gone to hell over the past 3-4 years. Youve had this massive influx of new anglers, new tourney anglers, new tourney series, growth in tourney series, all of that. Take Eufaula AL for example. HUNDREDS of major tourneys a year with over a hundred boats. it is no longer anywhere near the "big bass capitol of the world" (not that it ever was really) weights have steadily gone down.....you have tourneys where maybe 10% of the guys even get limits or half the field blanks.....during times the lake should be popping off. It's not just Eufaula...that's an example. Theres lakes all over the USA that are just getting beat to death and now theres no safe place for the bass to hide with livescope. It's ruining our fisheries. I think there is a valid argument that places need to start regulating the amounts of tourneys. It probably will never happen though because it's all about money for the hosting cities and money makes most people blind to any potential problems until it becomes too late.
Tad says it like it is🤟 1 rod Todd
Find a man that can catch em flipping little George’s in the flooded willows and you have found a true champion
A 3 pound smallie on the Musselshell River is seldom seen.
Now that you have that castledyne monkey off your back you’re gonna crush them the rest of the season😂🎣🎣🎣
Sounds like he big timed you when yall first met....you don't have to take it now Matt..lol
Todd may be Biffle Jr.Lol
It is my firm belief that if I enter a fishin derby, I plan to win it. Finishing in the 'top 30%' is not ever a goal.
Ok I've listened to 10 minutes todd be nice matt is sensitive
I throw a Spinnerbait all the time everywhere and everyone knows it. It just pisses people off.
There's also many ways to skin a cat.
I hate fishing the Ohio. Ughh...
