My birthday gift to my daughter, when she turned 16, was her first bike with the proviso that she pass the Basic Riding Course of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) first. I strongly encourage all parents to make participation in the MSF course part of their youngsters' motorcycle learning experience. Thank you for being a great role model for my daughter too, Amanda.
Epic ride and documentary! True, the Mexican people are one of the most hospitables people in the world, based on my experience as well. Thank you Noren...
Well, here you see the difference between a RUclipsr and a Film-maker. No offense to the many quality RUclipsrs, but this is an awesome reportage. Thank you for taking the time to put it together and publishing it Sterling. Greetings from your hometown of Seattle!
Having traveled to mulejhe years ago in my RV and now back on a motorcycles I'm inspired to return and do it the way it was shown in this movie thank you so much for your wonderful filming and sharing such a great experience
Even today what a great story. I met Coco in April 2017. Was honored to have met the man and humbled beyond belief. Went to Cabo and back on the GSA but not as adventurous as you but did see some off-road. The people were as wonderful and giving then as they were with you. Looking forward to going back once all the Covid is over.
mate if i had to pause the video and comment, you would have 1000+ comments. this was the best video that i ever seen, my respect for you to do it alone! well done!
Well done Sterling. A real trip done memory lane. I rode in Baja in 2008 been trying to get back ever since. Copper Canyon has always been a dream too. Great to see Micah True as well. Read the book back in 2011
Amazing documentary. Every second of it I cold not take my eyes off the screen. Mexicans are amazing ppl. Americans areas amazing ppl. Thank you for sharing your amazing story.
Big effort glad you found your story as lot of people look for who they are in life find it and lose track of it again. This Covid scene should have all reflecting on where we are in life. But some will miss the chance entirely. Once again congratulations on a well made video.
This is special .... I watch a lot of motorcyle video bloggers but there is something about Sterling, and the soul of this solo documentary. I loved it - and the story that arose from the natives and the Ultramarathon was fantastic. Just goes to show you don't need a fully kitted, late edition adventure bike and drones and various Go Pros to convey an adventure :) Well done!
I went back in 2012 and filmed a feature length film about the Tarhumara and the ultra marathon. Its called "Run Free - the True Story of Caballo Blanco" - check it out on Amazon, Vimeo, iTunes, etc.
Awesome movie thanks for sharing! In 99, I drove a truck solo all the way down Baja, and then took the ferry over to the mainland. I spent several weeks in Baja, and really enjoyed it. I ended up meeting my wife in Mazatlan. Then 19 years later, December of 2018, I flew my grandson from Mazatlan to Tijuana, and we road 2 up down to La Paz. Then took the ferry to Mazatlan. We stopped in San Felipe, chatted with Coco, and enjoyed San Ignacio. We mostly took paved roads when we could, but it was a great experience for both of us. I hope your journey can motivate others to get out of their comfort zone and go travel. I loved my solo trip, but if you can find someone to share the journey with, it's even better.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I agree with you thats it more enjoyable with another person or even a few, but solo travel has its own rewards that are untouchable - especially the way it pushes your boundaries and teaches you new things you wouldn't learn with other people.
The Copper Canyon and the Tarahumara people are in the state of Chihuahua. Is also the biggest state of Mexico neighboring Texas. Welcome to my beautiful Chihuahua and it's beautiful people.... 😊
Sterling thanks, for your riding most difficult roads in Mexico and sharing with us the Tarahumaras people. The man with two less legs what a beautiful heart ❤️ he has. Our Creator Jehovah see’s all people and he will not forget the love people do out of kindness. Awesome video! ✅👍🏍🌈🌎
Sterling, this was amazing. As you rode out of Copper Canyon in the last scene, maybe I'm a sentimental old fool, but my eyes were sweating a little. And you prove once again that yes, people around the world, are both friendly and helpful in most cases. And I gain even more respect for you with your demonstration of a soft demeaner con pelotas de acero. Thanks for this.
Thanks Gary - it was a very powerful journey for me. If you are interested, check out my film "Run Free - The True Story of Caballo Blanco" for a follow up on Mich True and the Tarahumara. I went back to the Copper Canyon a few years later to make another movie.
Love Mexico, I hitch hiked from Palenque to Mexico City and never had a minutes problem.Only met the loveliest people. Not sí while I was in the U. S.! Can't wait to BACK to Mexico with a bike.
I have had a motorcycle and enjoyed riding since my early 20’s but now seeing Sterling’s video today I am inspired and in ahh. This is video you have shared with all of us clearly shows your love sharing and weaving a beautiful place and story. Amazing video that captures so much content, thank you very much.
Great video. Congratulations! I am a Mexican/ American and I lived in Bellevue WA for 7 years. I currently live in Torreon Mexico. My wife and I moved back to Mexico after 911, in 2003. I am a biker lover and have traveled many places in USA and here in Mexico but what you did, is a great story. I am glad more Americans come to see the real Mexico and do not listen to the bad publicity from the news. GO HAWKS!
Wow watched this whole video in just 2 sittings ha. Never realized the elevation there or anything about Copper Canyon. This is beyond moto vlog combining a feature movie of our local amigos in Mexico. Nice Sterling! 🇺🇸💙🇲🇽🌮🌯
Excellent video about adventure motorcycling and humanity. Sterling's search to prove a powerful theory about the core of the human heart and soul comes to life before your eyes. What a brave and enlightening experience. Thank you Sterling.
The most daring motorcycle ride on mountain and the most dangerous part of lawless country..........you got a real combination also have the guts......i thought i was crazy.....fantastic brother ...ride safe.
Thanks! Glad you had a chance to see it. It was a great opportunity to be there. Check out my other movie "Run Free - The True Story of Caballo Blanco" for a feature length doc. about Micah True I produced a few years later.
Truly an incredible adventure documentary. It has not only brought out your deep love for motorcycling but your deeper love for humanity. The portrayal of the marathon is indeed touching.... Great job, thank you very much.
I saw this about a year ago and was totally stoked. I came across again and enjoyed it with the same enthusiasm again. It’s has to be one of my favorites videos. Seems like whenever I need inspiration I think of Sterling picking up his bike in the middle of nowhere Mexico and never giving up. You inspire many while giving inspiration knowledge and motivation to attack when the time is right! Happy motoring Sterling and congratulations on your accomplishments working on the BDR films. Cheers mi amigo

Great film Sterling! My be 10 years old but what a great adventure. Now that's what I call a "Back Country Discovery Route!!" My hat's off to you. Thanks for sharing your fantastic adventure!!
We rode thru most of the same area. The palapas at San Francisquito we’re thrashed in a hurricane a couple years ago. Fortunately we got one with a roof and the views are amazing. Always great to see Coco on our journeys. Man is a legend. And rice ‘n beans. Mmmmmm
Hats off to that motivation to ride solo for extended timelines and the perseverance to fight the odds in filming in this manner. A great film indeed. 🤗👍🏻
I can't describe how good this video made me feel. I drove from Vera Cruz to Puerto Escondido via Oaxaca last year. Truly amazing!! Happy memories!! Viva Mexico!!!!
Te felicito por tu ardua labor y la determinación de completar esta aventura a traves de una porción del Norte de México y mostrarle el mundo quien en realidad somos l9s Mexicanos. Good job Sterling!!!
I loved watching this. Riding solo and film it all like you do must be very hard and it demands so much patience, but you did a great job. The part about the long distance race was fantastic, thanks 😊
Dear Sterling. I've seen a lot of your videos. Regarding Filming- Editing- Choise of music, you are by far the best on RUclips regarding Motorcycles and Traveling. A BIG compliment to your work! Looking forward to more videos :-)
I've watched a bunch of your stuff, Sterling, and it's all top-notch! This one.....this one is special. I've never spent any time in Mexico so it was very enlightening to see a bit of it from your viewpoint. Thanks again for taking the time to travel, film, edit and post. Your channel stands amongst the best, IMHO. Cheers.
Filming yourself is an INCREDIBLE amount of work, in addition to dealing with rugged terrain on a motorcycle, camping and just travelling in new places. Your video is also really well made and very enjoyable. You definitely need more views. Please every body, give Sterling a "like"! Share his video!
one of the main reasons I love light motorcycles! 200 or 250cc does the job beautifully! You dont need bigger engines just huge balls! :D amazing video though! I loved the editing! :)
Where to begin... This is so well done. So inspireing and show's how much is put into making movies like this. Thank you so much for this. Just started out making movies like this myself, in much smaller scale, but the way of telling a story is still the same. So much to learn and show nice to tell stories about the real world, not what the media want to make you belive
Thank you Sterling for making this video I´ve learned a lot more from it than with the very little information we have about it right here in Mexico, I specially thank you for being honest with your experience about Mexicans which is so bad in the USA because the only thing the media talks is about what´s wrong, but as you know this is true of all countries, I mean good and bad people.

Thank you for sharing this wonderfull story with us! The real people are the story and we should appreciate people's friendship. Also big compliments for your effort on filming alone and riding...it's amazing. Greetings from Romania!
Great video. Why you don’t have 1 million likes is beyond me. Watching you pickup up that bike was painful. I give you so much credit for being able to film all of this too. I know its 3 times harder when filming it and having to go back and get your camera gear too. What an adventure. It was great seeing an American and Mexicans so loving of each other. Kind of has renewed my view. You have a new sub here. Loved this.
What a Great independent journey.. I enjoy every second of the story. The bike, camera and the intuitive sight refresh my paradigm about mexico, biker and social life with art.. bravo..you are the man

Kind of has renewed my view. You have a new sub here. Loved this.
Awesomeness all around - thanks for this beautiful gift and sharing your passion with us! Amazing adventure and story!

Impossível um cara desse ter tão pouca repercussão!
Great Job Sterling ! I live in Cave Creek, AZ, but have a small place in Patagonia. Sometime I'll ride over and hopefully meet you. Cheers....Dave

What a journey and what an amazing story. This is the most interesting and absorbing upload I have seen so far. Thank you and stay safe.
My first "solo" video, it meant a lot to me!
What a Great independent journey.. I enjoy every second of the story. The bike, camera and the intuitive sight refresh my paradigm about mexico, biker and social life with art.. bravo..you are the man
Fantastic video, beautiful scenery, lovely people.
