King Kong Escapes is one of the finest moving pictures ever shown on the silver screen. The scene when Dr. Who empties the clip of his pistol into the little native man who was just trying to save him from Kong is a masterwork. To this day I always reply to arbitrary and unfair situations at work by mockingly saying "Yes, yes; Kong is mine now!"
Exposure to radiation from Element X fricaseed Mechani-Kong’s electronics and transformed it into the world’s largest paperweight. No wonder Madame Piranha was pissed at Dr. Who. It was sure to laugh.
Saw this one new in 1967, At the Saturday matinee cost 60 cents for admission got a Bugs Bunny cartoon and 3 Stooges short too for that price. The Movie theater was packed with happy kids!
Interesting. He even looks a bit like the original Doctor Who (William Hartnell, 1963-66), especially with the cape and the hat. Was this a direct reference to the BBC series?
I am 68 and still watch these movies. They will be hard to watch when I am dead.

I think Mechani-Kong should be perfect in a MonsterVerse movie but he could be called "Mecha Kong" in this said MonsterVerse movie

何で出来てるのか知らないのですがロボットの硬質感がよく出てたなあ と好きな敵役でした 純粋に戦闘用でないのが子供の僕には物足りませんでしたが メカゴジラが出た時はメカニコングの立ち位置に現れたメカ怪獣の進化系だと嬉しくなりました
