The swings between 1:08 & 1:27 are Hogan in his peak prime before the massive injuries in February 1949. Between 1941 & Feb 1949 he was the greatest player the world will ever know. During this time frame he won 48 tour events despite missing 2 1/2 (1943-45) years to military service. He won 10 two different years (1946 & 48) of which he is still the only one to do so. He finished top 5 in 12 consecutive modern major attempts between 1940 & 1947 which is also still the all-time highest such streak (2nd high is still only 7). In 1941 he finished top 2 in 16 tour events & top 5 in 25 enroute to an incredible stroke average of 70.5 which is utterly amazing for that technological time frame. In 1942 he won the Hale America National Open (war time substitute for the US Open) & the North & South Open at Pinehurst with each scores of 271 which is again amazing for that time frame. He won the 1948 US Open with a score of 8 under 276 at 7000 yard Riviera and smashing the official Open record by 5 strokes. Oh, and he did all this without being allowed to clean the ball on the green (rule changed in 1960).
I work at Battle Creek County Club where he's actually played back in the day. That's more than Cool, I've actually stood where he stood it doesn't get any better than that.
@@hosoiarchives4858 I’m a huge fan of both Mike Austin and Ben Hogan. Their swings were iconic, and I'm so grateful for their teachings. I’m truly inspired by their grit. Mike Austin’s determination to continue teaching after his paralysis is incredible, and Ben Hogan’s courage to return to golf following his near-fatal car accident is nothing short of remarkable.
Amazing !!! Wish it could be in very slow motion. Lasting 10 minutes or so. Hogan mastered the swing with maybe the best grip on the club ever. The man had great balance, and did attack the ball for good distance and supreme accuracy. No golfer had ever hit the ball as accurate !! Not even Nicklaus or Woods. Hogan was an average putter.. if he would have been a great putter, he could have won 20 majors easily.
And for all you millions and millions of duffers out there brainwashed into thinking modern clubs will improve your game- freeze it at 0:29. Right handed golfer look at your right golf shoe- guaranteed it has creases in it just about the laces which means you have too much weight on your right side at the finish. Learn to hold the club properly and swing the golf stick over each shoulder and FINISH like Hogan. Straight left left knees close up on the right toe perfect balance. Those swings are close to 3/4 of a century ago. Nothing has changed. Knudsen, Woods exactly the same.
The guy had no tension in that motion. Even with thousands following him. Amazing
The one and only. That swing is poetry of the highest order.
Those 3 minutes flew by...great music great swing.

The best, most fundamentally sound swing ever. There is much to learn from watching Mr. Hogan's swing.
If you haven’t seen Mike Austin you are missing out

Hogan is "The Man" forever!
Thank you!
The very definition of complete timing, style and tempo!
Great sound track.
great shots of Hogan........interesting how long his backswing was in earlier years as opposed to post accident
The 2m15s at Merion in 1950. A comeback for the ages.
Great stuff 👏👏👏
Oh yeah, The Peace Train, for sure!
The peace (with freedom) train
He is my goat

John daly was close .
Couldn’t watch it all because of the damn music.
weak left hand grip, neutral right hand grip. Same as Tiger when he was playing his best.
