As always, Jay, first class review. Excellent comparison with insightful considerations for a variety of use cases.
Very beneficial as I consider clothing purchases.
    Thank you.

I really enjoy your reviews. These are thorough and extremely well thought out the only thing that I’ll throw in there is that Sitka makes the Ambient jacket which has a full zip and is slightly heavier.

Solid review dude, this category is something I have been messing around with for awhile. I would probably have the Ambient already if it wasn't for the fit and the fact it was a pull over. I have been messing with the dead bird Atom LT (not tough enough to be a stand alone) And now trying the Kuhl The One Hoodie, I am liking that so far.

      Dead bird 🤣🤣🤣

I’ve been running the Kuhl Engineered hoody as a baselayer and been very impressed. Gonna run more of their stuff.

I love the Cirque Lite!! And the Cirque as well. You were talking about wanting a more form fitting athletic fit in as quarter zip hoodie, look at the Ventus Hoodie made by Outdoor Vitals. Also I have the Vario jacket. It’s a little warmer, but I actually prefer the full zip and it is a full zip. Love your reviews. Just discovered your channel. I’ll be watching and catching up on your reviews now. Keep it up!

I had the same experience with the cirque lite, felt like I had to take it on and off more often when hiking. Where as with the ambient I would breath enough to keep hiking. The ambient kept you warm when needed yet breathed when you need it. I kept the ambient!

As a 6’ 150 lb guy I can say the fit of the stone gear is far superior for me. I have multiple pieces from both companies. Every Sitka piece I have barely reaches past my belt line and the sleeves are several inches too short. If I bump up in size I have enough room in the stomach area for a 9 month pregnant belly. Thanks for the reviews Jay, you have impacted a lot of my buying decisions.

Glad to help and SG is definitely the better fit for tall lean guys for sure!

I enjoyed the review. Like so many different technical pieces, when all was said and done, I just might be even more confused on which would fit my bill the best. Going to be hard to convince the wife I need both! Thanks for putting it together. If I were to pick one at this point the Stone might just fit my hunting style a bit better 70% of the time. Always hard to decide where to spend the hard earned cash.

Absolutely. And harder with some pieces than other for sure.

You can’t go wrong with either piece, they are both great.

Great video, thanks Jay. You thinking about incorporating more visual content of the items in future comparisons?

I bought the pull over ambient hoodie this year and I love it so much I bought the zip up hoodie too.
Hands down way better than the Celsius Midi jacket

The ambient is prolly my single favourite piece of gear.

Great video Jay. One thing I would like to hear your thoughts on is your preferences when it comes to wearing a shell and layers v an all in one type jacket like the Sitka Aerolite Bilzzard Parka in very cold temps. Thanks and have a good day.

I have the Blizzard parka and would only use that for a truck or snowmobile based hunt. Even on my goat hunt at -25c it’s just not practical. You’re better off with layers.

Can you verify which version of the Ambient this is? I am looking at the Ambient 100 Hooded jacket and it appears to have 2 hand pockets in addition to the chest pocket. Might be an updated version of the one you review here?

Does the kuiu kenai land in the same category as these two? It’s one I was trying to compare with the SG

I love both companies. Stone rain gear and packs are far superior to Sitka. The rest of stones lineup is great for the "gas station". Sitka is hands down far superior for the back country, specifically back pack hunting, shedding moisture, pack ability, breath ability, etc. Now that Sitka is adding side zips to their pants the nails pretty much in the coffin. But let's not forget stone is a pack company. That's where they shine.
