Are These Insoles Worth $300? SheepFeet 2 Year Field Tested Review

- I have spent a lifetime hiking in the mountains, and I also have Morton’s Neuroma which has led me to be very particular about both my boot choice and the insoles I use inside them. I have tried multiple custom orthotics and was always intrigued but sceptical about Sheepfeet. I have now run my custom insoles from Sheepfeet for the last two years and felt compelled to post a review. I hope this review is helpful.

Dude! I appreciate that you're so perceptive of hunters and outdoorsman of our wallets and the level of practicality Vs. trying to sell stuff we don't need, but could have someday. Thanks for making me feel good and honest about my purchases and keeping my family/finances in mind.
@@Shaffer_Hunts my pleasure man glad it was helpful.
You got the best hunting reviews on the internet brother. Keep it up
Thank you!
Been wearing superfeet insoles for over 10 years now. I have them in every pair of shoes & boots I own! Thanks for the great reviews, keep producing, we’ll keep watching!
💪
Great review. I'm 57 years old and have worn orthotics for many years. I have flat feet and have had two neuromas cut out of my right foot. Arch supports are very important and a necessity to me. I bought a pair of SheepFeet and in my opinion, they are not worth the money. I feel a pair of PowerStep inserts are just as good and they have multiple types. I finally found a great place to make my custom orthotics, which provide the best support I have found. Unfortunately, they are expensive, but my feet need them. As you said, the inserts in most boots today are crap and for most people, the good over-the-counter brands under $60 will work well.
💪
Only 9100 subscribers is criminally low.... good video!
Slow and steady
Thanks for the review. As an orthotic wearer I have found that they make a huge difference in how my foot feels after a day of hiking
💪
Just the review I was waiting for! Well done man.
💪
Great review!!
💪
Such great info as I have been pondering the sheepfeet for the last couple of months. Looking forward to the boot videos! 👍🏼
💪
another good straight up review 👍
💪
Really trust your opinion. ordered me some YourSoles. thanks brother
💪
Thanks for the analysis, Jay! It seems that there is often a premium in price as soon as a brand makes a product specifically for hunters. I've found that doing foot strengthening exercises and using "barefoot" shoes during my workouts helps a lot in getting my feet/ankles/calves ready for long hikes in the backcountry.
💪
I've Hiked over 3,500 miles in Sheepfeet. (Pacific Crest Trail and many many hunts and back packing trips)
I also have Morton Nuroma on my left foot. I can say first hand that they are amazing and worth the money. I have sent the insoles in for refurbishment once and the customer service is OUFSTANDING.
P.S I used my PCA account for the insoles.
Great Review!
💪
I first got sheep feet 3 years ago because I was having plantar fasciitis issues (my health insurance paid for them) I got one with and without the heel stablizer. I love running them without heel stabilizer and haven’t had any feet issues since I started using them.
Have heard from a few people now who prefer without the heel stabilizer.
Just was looking at Sheepfeet and other insoles. I have Kenetrek and Zamberland boots. Love them both but could go with an insole upgrade.
Definitely makes a big difference.
The answer would be no for me. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve had foot problems and I feel blessed to not have them. Great review! 💪🏻
👍
Tried a pair of sheepfeet and did 2 revisions and couldnt get my R foot to feel good with them so they refunded me. They were comfortable when standing/walking but at rest they pressed on my arch weird and cause significant discomfort even after 25-30 hrs of wear-time. Tried multiple lacing techniques with no change. Switched to Superfeet Adapt Hike Max and feel fantastic and got a set all 3 sets of my boots including my workboots where I stand 10-14hrs a day.
Yeah fair enough. That’s why I made the comment about feet being hyper personal. Just gotta keep trying until you find what works for you. Good feedback.
i love your videos man. if you're ever in the kootenays id love to have a chat with you. i run a B&b here if youre ever in town come stay.
Thanks man! Good to know!
Can we hear more about your experience with lanthrop and sons custom boots? I'm thinking of going that route this year.
Go listen to episode 11 of my podcast. It’s on RUclips and podcast platforms. I tell the whole story.
I also always wondered why my expensive shoes and boots come with garbage insoles! You should give the Soles -5 haha
Definitely doesn’t make sense.
Does the heel stabilizer change the drop? Could it raise the heel up to high changing boot fit?
That’s definitely possible. I’ve talked to people who did have this issue.
I’m not sure if sole offers this as well but sheepfeet can be purchased with an HSA.
I don’t think they do.
Every aftermarket insole that I've tried raise my heel, (as the insole is thicker than stock ones), and gives me horrible heel blisters. Any advice
And other than the heel pocket the boots fit fine? I find some people are wearing boots 1/2 size too small.
How do the sheep feet compare to your custom orthotics ?
I prefer these to my customs. Similar process and cushion is better.
The answer is yes. What else gets talked about for 29min?
🤷
@@MindfulHunter don’t get me wrong. I love your reviews, sincerely. I’ve just been running sheer feet for 3 years and IMO they’re a total game changer. My comment may have seemed critical but in my brain it wasn’t 👍
@@swamibr0 hahahah. Okay re-reading it yeah I can see that. Thanks man!
I’ve purchased two pairs of sheep feet and they didn’t compare to the fit of the local custom orthotics. Sheep feet didn’t do a good job and molding the plastic piece to fit the arch.
Good to know.
Haven't watched yet but um No they are not....
