With Classic Conversational AI, we use machine learning models to recognize and interpret what people say, but how our IVR or chatbots respond is scripted. With Generative AI models we can interpret and take action to create a response that makes sense, so they're potentially more powerful, but how we build and deploy these systems needs to change.
