I might make playful jabs but I love the 2012 Karateka game. It's fun, beautiful and the music is amazing. It's 2021 and this game still feels new.

This is a great video. It is great for inspiration and inspiring others to have their game ideas and dreams come true. It is a great explanation of how it works. I can't wait for the next 3 parts.

Wonderful game for its time, one of the best. Roughly in which month of 1984 was the game first released in North America?

Jordan, you are an inspiration to all young entrepreneurs and students coming up through school pursuing a career in computers and programming. I am 42 years old and vividly remember playing your game as a kid in high school (albeit it was a bootleg copy that so many kids had back in the day, sorry!) The Apple IIe was such a great platform and as a young kid back in the early 80's it was like the Iphone and Ipad to kids today. I find it fascinating that you still have your old IIe! Thank-You!!!!

Harhar :P I know what you mean, though. After, what, over 20 years of calling it what i THOUGHT it should be called, it was very stunning to see Jordan in these RUclips videos find out i'd been doing it wrong!

I prefer the original, which is more of a fighting/versus game. The remake is basically just a quicktime event, which is more annoying than fun and gets boring quick. I wish they kept it as a fighting game where u have to gauge distance, range, timing and choose the right attack. I do like the art and music though, very impressive.

By the way, I also wanted to let you know that I still play Karateka today on an emulator program for the Apple IIe and a disk image of the game itself. Here it is 30 years later, and I still take pleasure in playing the original game! If any of you diehard fans want to play the original, I highly suggest you Google Apple IIe emulator and download this program, then get a disk image and play the best game ever for the IIe!

I'm surprised that the game designer can't properly pronounce the name of his own game "karateka".

Hated the look of the remake. It should have mirrored the box art of the original. Also, the fighting was horrible compared to the old. The original had strategy and timing that the new one didn’t try to recreate. Though I would have happily bought it anyway if the art style would have stayed true to the original. Jeff’s a legend, but was the wrong choice for the design. Should have stuck with the photo real characters that were already created so many decades ago. Definitely would stand out in today’s market. Hopefully there will be another pass at doing it correctly. Never abandon the original seed of a success. No matter how much a current fashion compels you to betray your first muse.

Good publicity, but the game won't become a success
It is too late for this kind of game
    You can't reinvent the wheel
Even though I loved Prince of Persia, it is now one of the greatest disasters
I hope you won't get disappointed
