Gregory and his backstory reminds me alot of Salem from Thracia 776! A Former member of an Evil Cult who ended up bailing once his "wavering faith" was discovered, living on the run as detection and capture meant horrible death as the Loptyr Sect is QUITE vicious to apostates and worse for him, this was at the height of their dominance (since Thracia events happen inbetween the time skip of Genealogy's Part 1 and Part 2) Similar to Gregory's backstory which is similar to Griss, except unlike Griss who gave in and turned into a Zealot Sadomasochist maniac. Gregory kept his sanity in realizing he was in a VERY deranged cult that would torture him horribly if they found out he was faking....and ran when he realized they were catching on to his faking for the one place he KNEW they wouldn't follow him! The Kingdom of the very Divine Dragons who opposed the Fell Dragon they worshipped. Also like Salem he embraces the "Dark is not Evil" ascetic with the fact his "Sage" battle uniform is a mix of "intimidating" to hopefully attract less trouble to himself, yet still light enough that to his allies and those who know him, he's not a bad guy (Helps he doesn't have Griss Face Tattoo, Piercings and VERY INTIMIDATING FACE TONE) What I like is he's the right type of "Cowardly" character in that he's alot more "Cautious" then pure coward, and a VERY SANE MAN! (Hence his horrible shock meeting his prime universe version who gives him a VERY pretty view of what would have happened if he didn't flee when he did, or god forbid, EMBRACED the cult's teachings!)
There’s a huge difference between being afraid and being a coward and Gregory isn’t the latter. He’s honestly braver than most because he IS so afraid and pain averse yet he fights and defends others anyway. I just want to hug him and cover him with plushies.
I haven't actually played the game yet (just binged all of gregory supports because he's so skrunkly) but I feel like the reason that he keeps insisting that he's a coward or all he does is run away (despite most of his supports actually proving this wrong) is something to do with guilt. Again, don't know what happened in the game, but I'm guessing it's guilt over something with Mauvier

Griss's canon emblem is probably Veronica, he's a skilled user of tomes and staves and he's also named after Brodia's naming theme (gems).
Celica was Griss' ring when Sombron captured the first 6 emblems.
