Thank you. I actually found this curriculum and love their samples it really gave me some good information. I would love a more detailed video for kindergarten. Thanks

Thanks for the informative video. I learned a lot. How much time per child do you spend homeschooling each day?

I’m so glad you found the video helpful! It definitely varies, but I’d say about 1.5 to 2 hours for kindergarten, and about 3 hours for 3rd grade (trading off depending on what they could do independently), plus lots of enrichment stuff that we did together like field trips, art projects, nature walks, etc. Hope that helps!

Hi! Now that it's been a year, how do you feel about oak meadows. More so about the kindergarten curriculum...

Good question! We are so grateful for the Oak Meadow curriculum in seeing us through this past school year of so many unknowns. I’m particularly impressed with how the kindergarten focuses on the whole child rather than just memorization, and getting too rushed into racing to learn to read. I think Georgia’s overall comprehension, and understanding of numbers/math concepts was strengthened, and she has a solid foundation going into first grade. Full disclosure, now that our public school is back in-person, the kids are back in our local neighborhood school, but that’s not anything against oak meadow or homeschooling, just what works best for our kids. I hope that helps! Let me know if I can elaborate more on other aspects, and I’m happy to share more.

That was very helpful, thank you! Did you use the help from the teachers that was offered with the distance learning? If so... did you like how the teachers helped?

@@miacuster4033 we did not use the distance learning teachers-sorry I can not provide any insight on that option!

New sub here! I was searching for reviews on lavender blues curriculum and I can’t find any. I love this review though! Do you feel comfortable using only this as a whole curriculum or do you add in more? Thank you!!

Thanks so much, Kristie! So glad to have you! That is a tricky question for me. I have really admired and appreciated the holistic approach to math, but it does require a lot of hands-on time from the parent. I haven’t supplemented with an entire separate curriculum, but have purchased workbooks for extra practice. Hope that helps! Happy to continue the conversation if you have other questions!
