Wow, that's some builders merchants yard. Really neat foundation dig too. I just love your videos, they just get better and better; I never want them to end. Thanks for posting, I look forward to following this new build.
There is something satisfying about hand digging a trench.I was taught the correct way smooth bottom and plumb sides and folks may scoff but digging is a skill as the “ Skilled man can make it look easy “ just done a hand dig for an extension but the ground was looser and of course there was the inevitable ( cave in ) which is very boring and can cost up to a cube of concrete if it gets out of hand .I always dig a sump in a corner and have an electric pump handy . Good tidy work guys and looking forward to your forthcoming build vids 👍🧱💪☔️🙏🧱
I was going to suggest one of those 1 tonne Bobcats for the trench, but honestly, you make that hand-dug trench look like a work of art. It's very impressive.

Martin . We were in Leigh on an old rugby pitch and every plot was piled and beamed . A guy pulls up in his conservatory van ready to start his dig ( those boys think they are deep if the trench comes above their ankles 😂😂) He said to Dave one of our drivers “What’s the ground like pal ? “ Dave calmly said which plot . The guy points and Dave says “They are all piled on ere pal , that one went down 33 metres “ . Dave told me he watched the colour drain out of the guys face 😧😳😂😂🧱👍🏼
I dug out to put a sunken bath in this week , got 500mm down and hit a 350 kg Granite Boulder :) . No digger access lol had to sds 12mm and wack in 10 sds chisel points then put breaker on it to split it o the joys. ATB
