- A bobcat returns to it's area of origin after a seven year absence. He is befriended by a elderly man who used to be the top bobcat hunter around. His new pal tries to protect him but a case of mistaken identity puts Wahoo's life in jeopardy. Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color - 1963.
From Wikipedia: The Wahoo Bobcat is a children's book written by publisher and naturalist Joseph Wharton Lippincott and illustrated by Paul Bransom, and first published by J. B. Lippincott & Co. in 1950. Lippincott wrote 17 books about animals and nature. He wrote two books set in Florida, one of which was The Wahoo Bobcat.
Some of this film was filmed in Arrowhead, in Citrus County FL, where I grew up. My father still has the deer antlers seen on the cabin at 8:00 minutes into the film.
This kind of Disney film, showcasing an animal character were my very favorites.
Jock (Sherman ) MacGregor who played Jed Morgan was my great Grandfather he died when I was 4 in 1984. He was my grandmother’s father. He was an actor and producer. He did (produced) many radio shows in the 1940s.
He is my wifes my great uncle.
Thanks so much for uploading this film. I'm always amazed at how many Disney films keep surfacing on RUclips. I especially love these older documentaries narrated by Rex Allen and Winston Hibler. I sure wish Disney would clean up these old films, scan them in 4 or 8K and include them with Disney+, but they seem committed to keeping these old films buried.

Just about twenty years ago, I stumbled on a tiny website where someone started a webpage with a petition to ask the Disney Channel to start a "Disney Classics Channel" so that younger generations as well as those of us long in tooth and sparse of hair could enjoy films like this.
I signed up, but I lost track of their web address and could never find it again.
@@kidmack1121 Yes, Disney really needs a "Disney Classic Channel" for the millions out there who aren't impressed with CG or just want to expose their kids to harmless, fun, eductional films.

Rex Allen and Winston Hibbler were favorites of mine too, but don't forget actor Alan Soulé did some of the great episodes too.

I bought a copy of this movie off Amazon. They still have a listing for it in VHS.
What a Great older movie. Loved them as a kid. Still love them today!
When Walt Disney died so did the the good name of the DISNEY.
I think Disney started Going Downhill around the Early 1980's. They were still hanging on in the 1970's

If the two kittens sticked around a bit longer they could've learn a few tricks on how to outsmart pursuers for the future by observing The Tiger.

My uncle is Darrel Hendricks who trained the animals for this film the Bobcat belonged to his parents my uncle passed away last week in S. L.C. UTAH he will be put to rest the JUNE 29th 2021
Thanks for this information. A family friend had pet bobcat "Rufus" who was on Disney a year before.
Edit to add. Thanks to the folks at Disney I learned Rufus had minor appearance in "The Silver Fox and Sam Davenport."
