I'm a member of a 4th Wiltshires Living History Group so pleased to see the Battalion getting some recognition in this, not sure what it says about the foresight of young officers mind you! A bit of a shame that the bloke that shows up at the end doesn't have a No4 Mk.1 and he looks like a sack of something tied up in the middle, but overall well done! 🙂
Bloody hell guys, like a blast from the past! Great to see you back and bloody good job, I was 101stairbornedan back in the day 🤣 good to see this lads.
Good effort, entertaining but also frustrating, his Sten was just there but he went for the empty K98 and at the end he forgot he had his Webley … but details aside, it was worth a watch !
I also didn't understand that either. He has two personal weapons he's familiar with...and he picks up a rifle that may not be loaded or even functional.
I was thinking it could be the Ardennes or even Germany in 1944/5. Don't know if the Wiltshires were in either area. Doesn't really matter. The soldier didn't keep his Sten to hand but grabbed the German Mauser rifle. What an 'oh sh**' moment when he realises it is empty.
Umm the sound effects are actually in reverse with the shots being fired in your direction. First of all, the bullet makes the whizzing sound, then comes the report(sound of the firearm being discharged.. 1 shot and our senses can't determine the direction it came from, 2 shots and our tiny brains can work it out. Just something to share,,,,,,,,,

can't use the 42 unless drum fed as two man job belt fed. idve checked for ammo straight off for the 98. crap as it was id still have slung the Sten over my shoulder too. but it was a very intense clip. well done to everyone.
No lol, the Brits stood alone for a year and contributed much more towards defeating nazi Germany and literally invented the first special forces during WW2, which the Americans based their own spec ops on later. Do some research on the st Nazaire raid and falklands war before making that claim.
@@Jake-pm3pz Funny, I don’t recall Any British bases on American soil. Do you know of any? Do you understand why there are American bases on British soil? Then, there’s Dunkirk.
@@wilburshaw9330 Yes because Britain was the only remaining free ally on the western front and the only effective place for the Americans to place their troops on the western front. That in no way signifies that “brits couldn’t hold a candle against the average American soldier”. As for Dunkirk that was a necessary and smart retreat, they would have got annihilated if they had they stayed and fought and the war would have been lost. Brits and Americans usually have full respect for each others militaries, we are eachothers closest allies. Saying that brits couldn’t hold a candle to Americans is ridiculous, do some research, the British military is well trained.

Same I noticed. It could’ve been considered if the soldier is an australian, Indian, or a kiwi soldier during the WW2.
This is one of the best short films I’ve ever seen, great job!
Cracking job lads.
Sounds like the beginning of a joke: “So, two British second lieutenants are walking alone in the woods ...”
Actually both majors - even more improbable
That definitely wouldn't have happened for sure.
@@willpotter8343
Very scruffy looking majors!

@@zen4men I think both guys used the same uniform 😅

Really good job!
I could tell the sten would not fire with the missing extractor.

So good! You should be incredibly proud 😀
Excellent short! Well done!
Very well done
A few Majors walking around alone then. Why didn't the first Major use his revolver?
The Wiltshire regiment has quite a long WW2 history. Dunkirk 1940 / Market Garden 1944 / Geilsenkirchen. Played this in 1944 or 1945.
@@BenHector Battle of Overloon!

Why is he walking around with his Sten uncocked? You would want it on the ready.
Good point.. maybe he's nervous?

Why didn't he drop the Mauser and draw his pistol?
As a german in my eyes it's so sad that Anglosaxons killed Saxons....we are brothers for real...
Nah, it was war and strife, always was, even the Celts fought like bad to get a place on the island, and even before that there was tribal tribulation

We only had one costume!
They need to remove those red patches from their shoulders. They wave like a flag in an ice field!
