      Love of Pets do you place them in homes or just keep them your self . I meant a lady who has two a male and a female and she doesn’t want the eggs she has offered them to me . Her male is just 10 MOs in March of 2020 is that to young to Fertilize eggs ?
      He female is 3 yrs old .

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  4 года назад +1

      Hi, I kept most of my babies and rehomed a few.
      That male is young but it's possible the eggs are fertile. Candle the eggs and see if fertile. Would you be taking the birds or just the eggs to put in an incubator?

    • @MegaGANOEXCEL
      @MegaGANOEXCEL 4 года назад

      Love of Pets just the eggs , I asked her to just move the eggs out as they are laid because i didn’t want the process of incubation to start and get interrupted I have a over night travel to pick them up. So I thought as they where laid remove them and set aside till I bring them home.possibly 5 days then start all at the same time. Similar to quail eggs. What’s your thoughts?

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  4 года назад +1

      You can try if you have an incubator and the eggs don't get shaken up during transportation. I have never tried it myself. Let me know how it goes.

      Look for birds that have nice feathers, bright eyes with no discharge and nice clean feet. Look for birds that can fly and are active.
      If it's hot or during resting time they make not be as active as normal. It's best to select them in the morning or evening when they are most active.

    I adopted a pair of young lovebirds, but I’m afraid to let them hatch their eggs, as I don’t know if they are siblings themselves. And i’m not too experienced, it’s probably not a good idea to raise baby birds too 😬

    • @lilyliu8035
      @lilyliu8035 5 лет назад

      @@Loveofpets Wow, that seems fast to have another clutch almost back to back! My lovebirds are having their 2nd clutch of eggs. In fact, she laid the first egg of the 2nd clutch last night. It has been about 4 months in between the 2 clutches. I switch to a dummy egg this morning.. feeling kinda bad... but I know it would be way worse if we can't properly take care of the babies and if we can't find them good homes~

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  5 лет назад +1

      Most birds have one clutch after the other and then they need a break for sure. Three clutches woukd be too much. Dummy eggs are best if you don't want babies and to let the mother think she is incubating the eggs so she won't lay more. It is hard to find proper homes for the babies, I end up keeping most of them.

Also they can have cooked brown rice, quinoa, cooked pasta. They can definitely have apple, grapes, watermelon, banana, melons, pears etc. Offer fruits only once or twice a week as they are high in sugar. I give fruits in the morning so they can wear off calories before bed. Hope this helps. No avocado, onions, salty or sweet foods. I bought two female(I think) rosey’s not knowing they were so unlike my normal parakeets of the past. These were obviously not handled when young. One hunched and squawks when I even go near the cage. The other has been up on my finger maybe 3 times for 5sec but has now taken to squawking like the other. Im very discouraged as I had high hopes of interacting & letting them out etc. In fact Iv never even heard this sound coming out of any parakeets (or any other pet bird iv ever owned.) Can anyone tell me if it’s hopeless for these very skittish birds at this point? I feed them wide range & they’re in nice cage etc. lots of quiet face time but the minute I open door for any reason it’s back to
    Screaming at me. Not at all what I so hoped for. I know nothing about the breeder, got at large pet shop “That Fish Place” in York PA. $200 each. Went ahead and sprung for the two of them so they would have each other. But wonder now if I would be father along with one? These were to be badly needed emotional support pets, but these little hot heads are just not at all like what I remember about parakeets! Can any tell me if they are just going to remain hands off canary or finch like birds because they weren’t handled when young? I would know not to keep trying. Honestly their fierce squawking isn’t on any of the sites and I’m really trying. Thank you very much!

      Conures are very nippy birds in general. She needs to bond with him and earn his trust. Check out this channel, they have training videos ruclips.net/user/BirdTricks

    Hello, sorry this isn't the place to ask but people on websites aren't answering. I have a couple of bourkes and their baby just hatched but they stopped going in their nest. Idk what to do bc it's only a few days old but the baby is getting colder and isn't fed. I want to try to help it survive but I don't have to adequate tools to do that, I don't have anything to warm it or the right food to give it. Please anyone answer quickly bc i feel sorry for it and I don't know what to do 😰😰😰😰😰. HELP

      Keep an eye on them as they may go into the box to feed the baby. If not you need to buy hand feeding formula.
      There is too much to wrote her to help you.
      Join a bourke Facebook group and they may help you.
