    Vessel to vessel transfer when under way is neat and well timed. Good footage. Enjoyed working out of Galveston, Texas with the Taxi service that is in Galveston.

    Sabine Pass working on the M/V Goliad for Neches Gulf. I noticed the same problem with Sea Strainers intake of Mussels and shells that can cause damage to the engines. Checked sea daily while at CHS Launch services. Good to see the fisheries are thriving again.🎌®🌓🚤🛥🚢⛵🦐🦀🐟

    It’s nice you collaborate with the ships when building but what about the barge companies. We have a horrible time getting on and off docks because there built for ships not barges!!!

    A lot of back slapping here. Piloting is a responsible job but these pilots are neither better ( or worse ) than all the other thousands of pilots scattered over the globe!!

      ????? Get off that high horse! Its a state produced video likely aimed for recruits or applicants or civic groups. You'll likely see similar videos for any state, region or country...

    You forgot to mention that becoming a pilot there is all about having the right connections. Skills can. be acquired during training. These people are trying to justify their exorbitant pay.

      When you're in charge of safely docking 100+ million dollars worth of cargo a 300,000$ salary is very reasonable.

      Most folks don't realize how dependent they are upon the work of the harbor pilots. Everyday life would be immediately impacted without them. I don't think you can place a price cap on that, not to mention the personal risk they take every time they board a ship. Check out some of the videos; it will make your hair stand on end.

    • @jayadsilva67
      @jayadsilva67 4 года назад +1

      Yeah, I been there done it. Their job is easy, that’s why they engage in cronyism and only hire people who knows another pilot. So stop sucking up to those idiots

      You fail to understand how difficult it is to become a pilot. They have to map out from memory the bottom contours of their port fir example. Nevermind the hazards of boarding or disembarking a large ship.in rough seas....
      This is not politics where the right connections are everything

    great a video about "Harbor Pilots" and no actual in depth video showing a Harbor Pilot doing their job... this title should be changed to a PR video of State Harbor Pilots.
