I’ve knit several pairs of the cabled dad mittens and they’re so great! The pattern is easy to remember, the design looks & feels great irl, and they work up so fast .
Love your podcast. I really like that you use big box store affordable Because my knitting and stash started with the stores nearby and I need to destash before I can restash and knit with pricer yarn. Thanks
Thank you! I definitely want to try and work through as much of my stash as possible before buying new yarn - it's definitely motivating when I knit up a project from deep stash yarn to free up space for something new 😄 I have a bin of big box store yarns, everything from acrylics to wools (Patons Classic Wool Worsted is so good!) - my hope is to set some aside for teaching others to knit, and then using up the rest for gift knits eventually!
I was totally going to start filming a vlog for this pattern but I got carried away and forgot lol! I'll be sure to start filming this week though, I'm thinking I might cast on a second one to knit in tandem with the one I have on the needles right now lol 😅
I’m relatively new knitter, but I only buy yarn when I know what I want to make and then go on an extensive search and comparison and spreadsheets mission 😃 🤓
My hope is to one day get my stash down to a manageable size so I can do that! This year I've been more conscious of buying yarn for projects instead of just because it's pretty 😅 Having yarn languishing in my stash for so long is definitely causing me some anxiety 😅
Giiirll!! Dont worry about long videos! Your podcasts are like sitting with a friend. Always look forward to your podcasts! :) Cant wait for this knitalong! Also, always an inspiration! And always nice to hear about patterns ive never heard of. Definitely want to try and make those mittens/gloves as well! That looks like a fun pattern! Im currently working on a 1x1 ribbed hat and a onesie. And dont worry about being late about posting about your fall plans. Fall starts tomorrow so you made it haha! :)
Aew thank you so much! 🥰 I'm glad I was able to introduce some new patterns to you! The Cabled Dad Mittens are a great pattern with the different options! I can't wait to cast then on this fall 😄
I knit the Lana Vest, Rita sleeveless top and just finished the Gem sweater. I have the Ramble Jumper pattern that I may make this winter, finally and almost bought the new Ruth pullover
I was looking at your cardigan and I was like "I love it..." and then I realized it's a pattern I've already purchased and have the yarn for 😄 I guess I made the right choice lol
Shopping from stash is pretty fantastic! I've been thinking of putting together a video series of working through my stash for next year - my lofty goal is to work through at least 75% of my stash by the end of 2025 😅
Currently knitting the 'Maybe Forever Sweater' by Kutovakika using Scheepjes's Scrumptious yarn in the colour 'Blueberry Basil Galette'. Was excited to see a knitter have the same yarn as me as this is rarely the case. Also, 12 projects by 21st December! Wow, I can barely complete a project in a couple of months sometimes 😆. Look forward to seeing how that goes.
The Maybe Forever Sweater looks like such a classic and cozy sweater! I've been having second thoughts about my project using the Scheepjes Scrumptious, I'm just not sure I'm getting the look I want with the texture and cables - knitting a less textured pattern might do the yarn more justice I think! Also I might have been a bit overconfident in my ability to knit 12 whole projects in a season lol 😅 I've been doing well so far I think, but I might need to roll a couple projects into my Winter Knitting Plans 😂
Heyyy, great video, I love how you pair your planned garments with the existing clothes, feels very mindful of your future knits’ future. I also started purchasing lesser known designers, the other day I found Madalena pullover, which has 9 projects but it is absolute treasure, you can knit and re-knit and use the construction for more than 1 garment.
Bought that skort pattern! You’re going to love the Carley Cardigan. I knit it out of acrylic yarn and it wears so well. I use it almost every day when it’s cold.
I like that you showed what you would pair each knit piece with and that you were using stash yarn. I’m knitting the Malabrigo KAL Lehigh Shawl now. On my list is Dan Doh’s River, Chic, some kitchen item knits for Christmas gifts, Malabrigo’s Friendship Shawl, and a couple Emotional Support Chickens for friends. Casapinka’s Quindici is a WIP and I want to knit the Vivid Valentine shawl in similar colors. I live in the Southwest so I prefer lighter weight yarns and cotton blends.
Oh wow! All of those patterns look fantastic! I've been eyeballing the Emotional Support Chicken, maybe I'll knit one as a gift for a family member for Christmas!
Thank you for a lovely video. It was my first time watching. I think I’m going to try and design my own toy this Fall and a designer I love at the moment is The Creabea. See you next time 😊
Designing a toy sounds fun! 😄 I've test knit once for Creabea earlier this year! I knit her Lauder Cardigan V-neck, and I can't wait to wear it when the weather cools down haha!
Canada is horribly expensive for yarn … knitting is not accessible here. It’s hard to find yarn for less than $28 Canadian for 100g skein. You really have to shop around and likely only one or two options per store… with little stock!
It's quite shocking, isn't it?! I would love to knit with KFO more often, but the price makes it end up being a larger investment for a project - and like the other commenter mentioned, it's also hard to find shops that carry enough stock, and in the colour you're looking for (I had to go to 2 different shops 30 minute drive apart to get my hands on the matching Heavy Merino with the Soft Silk Mohair 😅)
@@fnt77 I will look into wool and co, but the last time I ordered from the US into Canada I got hit with a $45 customs vantage on a $80 order… I’ll see how they ship!
Oh yeah! I hadn't considered grey tights! 😄 I'm excited to try something new - I'll have to make sure I take photos of all my knit outfits when I'm done, and post them in a future video 😄
So much great inspiration, thank you! I'm going to be obsessed about that Carly Cardigan. I might swatch with Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool...I'm doing a cabled shawl with it at the moment and the definition is incredible. I also have yarn from Topsy Farms here in Ontario which I'd love to use up 🤔
Oooh someday I would love to get my hands on the Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool - I haven't seen it at any shops over here on the west coast where I live 😢 I've seen other projects using that yarn, and they always look so lovely!
I love wool-like! I made the Maxie's Mockneck dress version by Ainur Berkimbay with the green last year and this year I really really want to make a pair of marled leggings with my green leftovers and some blue but it may end up being an early next year cast on at this rate. I also have yarn to make a skirt-only Sporty Knit Skirt. I don't mind long videos at all, more time to knit! I just cast on the Nostalgic Sweater Coat by Ailbiona McLochlainn, which I'm planning on making knee-length so I need all the knitting time I can get.
Oh wow! Knitting a dress is quite the commitment - I still have one on the needles myself that I cast on earlier in the spring haha! I hope to finish it someday soon 😅 I wish I could find more of the Woolike yarn, but I think the Michaels in my city must have discontinued it 😭 At least I have enough to make a few more projects, but yeah! There were so many colour options when they did carry Woolike, and holding it double seems to get the perfect DK gauge for me 😄
you always have interesting pattern choices. i can't wait to see the projects that you make! I am test knitting a new pattern from Ririko - all simple lace - i think that you might like it.
Just found your podcast. Love seeing some new patterns. P.S. The Musselburgh hat is pronounced "mussel-boro". Like Edinburgh (Ed -in boro). It's a Scottish thing.
Thank you for the correction! 😊 I feel like I'm learning so many new to me pronunciations (recently learned the proper way to pronounce "Scheepjes" too!)
I am most looking forward to wearing my shawls!! So waiting on the weather to cool down a bit more. I am on the Mosaic train! So i am actually working on 2 different Mosaic patterns one is a wrap and the 2nd is a 1/2 circle winter shawl. The Wrap is called "Vacillate" by Cindy Garland. The winter shawl is "Winterwald" by Ute Nawratil
oh my gosh r u going to be busy I love that skirt. Also your sweaters r great choices. Have you thought about shrug season patterns. Might be more useful than that wrap
Your knitting is beautiful and your sister is lucky you knit for her!!!!
Thank you! It's always nice to knit for others, and my sister is definitely knitworthy! 😊

Thays fantastic! I can't wait to knit them up this season, I'm thinking I should have enough yarn to make the convertible mitten version 😄
Another create podcast. I have added many of your ideas for fall knitwear to my queue.
Thank you! It's always fun finding inspiration and new patterns in these kinds of videos 😄
What pattern are you wearing in the video? It looks great 😊
Thank you! I'm wearing the Ferndell cardigan by Nadia Crétin-Léchenne on Ravelry 😊
@@HoneybirdStudio thank you

That's fantastic! Which patterns did you knit?
I knit the Lana Vest, Rita sleeveless top and just finished the Gem sweater. I have the Ramble Jumper pattern that I may make this winter, finally and almost bought the new Ruth pullover
Bay Wrap Sweater by Shayla Kang is so beautiful, I am so so in love now with Korean patterns!

I’m amazed by the markup on the Knitting for Olive yarn.. that’s almost 50% more expensive than it is in Europe.
