You should order a kit from tiny boat nation for you boat. It's not the cheapest way to go, but if you do wood correctly it'll cost almost the same. Plus you could use their name to get more views. That front deck kit would look nice on that little boat. And a little set of float pods would make that little boat just absolutely amazing.
If you coat it in product and then cover it in plastic like a cheap drop cloth for painting it'll keep it from drying out. Then if you let it bake in the sun you'll get better results.
