Hi Eric this is a very interesting locomotive. she still walks well for her age. A little grease on the gears will definitely make the noise quieter. Greetings Torsten
Thanks for showing this jewel. By the way, this Lima 4575 Class Prairie Tank (GWR Swindon) was produced from 1979-1983. The same model also had another running number. The one shown is 5574 with catalog no. 205110 as you say. The 5557 was produced from 1990-2001 and had catalog no. 205014. For Lima nerds🙂
Thanks for the information and for watching the video. I have lots of Lima rolling stock. It's usually cheap, it looks quite good and it's easy to maintain!
Lima were are good brand back in the day, I still have a couple up models myself. I have a GWR Castle Class loco. Your loco is from the late 1980's. It has a British Rail early crest circa 1947-1953 (the later crest looks different) There a quite a few of these locos preserved in the UK at various locations namely the Severn Valley Railway and the paington-Kingswear railway in Devon. Nice model there Erik, glad to see you like it. Take care mate, Dave👍
Hi Dave, thanks for the extra information 🙏 Yes, the UK is a dream for railway lovers. I think it’s probably the country with the highest number of steam locomotives in preservation. I like this Lima very much. It looks a bit enormous on my layout, but it’s great, especially since I have got it for 25 euros. 😊🚂😍 Thanks for watching 🙏 Greetings 🙋♂️ Erik
Hi Erik, this is a very interesting find, its the first Lima 2-6-2 Prairie I have seen. It looks in very good condition and has excellent detailing. I think a good service will make it a better runner, it may not have been used for some time. I would like to know what motor it has, Lima tended to use their ringfield type a lot and they can be noisy if not cleaned and lubricated. Its another great addition to your layout and is a good size for your Triang coaches. Cheers, Paul.
Hi Paul, I saw this Lima model on sale a few times already, but usually more expensive. I have now paid 25 euros, which is a fair price, I think. The video was recorded last weekend. In the mean time I have cleaned it. It makes a lot of noise still. But I don’t mind, my locomotives can be noisy, no problem, my hearing isn’t to good anyway 😁 Thanks for watching 🙏👍 Have a nice weekend with your family, your scooter of your model trains ☀️ 🛵🚂
@@railway187 Hi Erik, thats a good price for the Prairie as I have just looked there are not many for sale. I received 2 job lots of wagons today that include a few rare coaches and I bought an unusual Steam Loco 2 days ago. I will clean and service everything and make a video Sunday. Its getting very hot in my attic so this may be the last train video for some time. I am servicing my Scooter tomorrow, getting ready for a long journey next weekend. Have a great weekend, Paul.
Fantastic video! 👍
