Brother Jim should resign. Any Catholic athlete should use his/her platform to speak up for the faith and call out this blasphemy.

I turned off my TV after watching 15-20 minutes of the Paris Olympic opening ceremonies. I watched the spectral horse galloping over the Seine river and had a bad feeling about it so pressed the off button.

Circ du soleil would have been good, but France thought this other circus was more representative of their country. They can own it.

Br. Bob here, I did not see a depiction of Jesus nor the spirit of Jesus at the presentation. I hope that a mockery wouldn’t have been intended by the organizers and they have stated as such. So what was it? The central figure appears to be Apollo with halo and lyre (dj turntable). The blue man is obviously Dionysus with his thyrsus (microphone). Cupid is present as a child. There are more than 12 in attendance. The option that few are considering is that this is an entirely pagan depiction of Greek mythology, the banquet of the marriage of Cupid and Psyche. The original Olympic Games were a pagan practice and previous modern games have referenced the connection at their opening ceremony. This entirely pagan depiction is a crude burlesque and inappropriate for a global audience however.

The depiction of Jessus offends me as a Mulsim. Peace be upon Jessus Chris the true Messiah and God's word

I think France embarrassed itself. Apparently nobody thought much of it, I don’t see religious anything in it.

The Olympic opening ceremony in Paris, France was to me aesthetically distasteful. I used to think this city is the center of great art & fine culture. The ceremony lacked focus on the essentials of the event. The frequent insertion of what seems to be woke culture of the city was disparaging & poignant. What's more, the shameless display of testicles and morally offensive drag depiction of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ was utterly outrageous. Is this France today? This France is not worth the lives of the heroes of Normandy, the blood of the French martyrs and the respect of the billions of Christians worldwide !T
