So its a bit like am Arena FPS meets FTL. I like their style, the gameplay doesn't look bad, fun setting - yeah I could see myself playing this some time. Thanks for showing it off!
This looks pretty good. Looks like they learned a lot about what made Void Bastards so fun. It will be interesting to see if this universe is the same universe. Especially with all the connections like the Bastards.
I think the shots not having "much impact to it" makes it an "Arcade Shooter" game, but its hard to say if they intended that, or if it'll change on full release.
I hear Todd Haberkorn in Doc Casino. If that is him I'm noting the funny coincidence that a guy voiced by Todd Haberkorn is flying a ship called the Drifter(He voices the Drifter in Destiny)
I'm intrigued. The last game had random playable characters with quirks because they were expandable, so I hope the roguelike nature doesn't get in the way of the writing here. I like the characters, will try the demo for sure
It may be just be pronounced like coyote or the other pronunciation of that word ("coy-" pronounced like guy, but starting with a C or K sound + "-ote" being pronounced like just saying the letters O T. OR the "ote" is pronounced like the word "oat").
I was absolutely psyched out of my mind when I saw the release trailer for this because I loved the first one, and roguelikes are my favorite genre. But I'm going to be honest. While the game looks gorgeous, the gameplay looks incredibly slow, boring, and simplistic compared to Void Bastards, and much less immersive. That really hurts me to say and I wish it wasn't the case, but that's how I see it.
Ok, the characters look good, the levels look good, and I really like the color palate but the gameplay itself just looks bad. I guess if you like more laid back stuff I could see the attraction but otherwise the feel needs some work. Feel is more about animations and sound design when you do stuff as the player, I haven't looked at fps design, I can't tell you what's missing as a result but something crucial is missing. Hopefully they find it because everything else looks pretty good.
if you've played Void Bastards, it looks very similar in terms of shooting mechanics. while yes, the game is technically a first person shooter, it's honestly more of a resource management/strategy game. you really only kill things when you're forced to and there's a specific weapon or explosive to counter every enemy type. it's nowhere near as fluid as doom eternal or other arcade shooters but it's not really supposed to be
@@longbeanhaul1014 Void Bastards is much more fast paced than this. I absolutely loved Void Bastards but this trailer was very disappointing to me personally.
It’s a unique artistic direction, it doesn’t look awful it looks different. If you actually paid attention to the video it’s releasing a DEMO on the 10th , after most likely early access or beta , there’s plenty of time for polishing and if you don’t like it don’t play 😮 hundreds of others will
@@mr_clean575 having played it myself now id say watching it makes it appear kind of slow but actually playing it I didn't notice it being boring or slow. I'm decentt at this type of game having played gunfight reborn, robo quest, doom etc. and I died a few times in the demo. I think it's a great game and at an indie price can't go wrong really.
I absolutely LOVED void bastards, can’t wait!

Check Void Bastard too-made by the same developers, and it's a lot of fun
I cannot wait to get my hands on this! I'm gonna play the demo so much until release!
i kinda wish this had co-op

Ah I loved sneaking around ships idk if I can get into the combat
The artstyle and western vibes are excellent, but the shooting doesn't seem to have much impact to it. Hope it plays better than it looks.

Itll likely feel identical to Void Bastards. Play that and see for yourself.

ah I think kyote is a play on ( and pronounced like ) coyote

There’s no weight or impact
MacOS release? Love playing void bastards.
This game looks awful why did they think this was a good enough to release?
Looks fine
The game looks nice, the gunplay looks dull tbh
