13:28 Reminds me of Zephaniah 3:19 where God says I will turn your shame into praise/glory. Hearing Lue’s outlook on he handles situations in life, explains why he’s been blessed in every field he’s laid his hands on.
Listened to this entire thing and made me appreciate Ty Lue even more. To love this game as much as he does, due to his gratitude for what the game bestowed unto him and his family is remarkable 🙏🏿🤲🏿
Ty Lue built different. He has that not good enough grind mentality as a player and coach. You can see he straight comedy when he around his players and people 🔥🔥🔥✊🏾
Wow. Coach Lue is an amazing storyteller. His recollection of the many people involved in his story shows how present he was in those moments. Now having the time to look back on it and reflect you can see how cherished they are. Thank you for this episode.
Such an authentic interview! The Pivot’s flow with questions and their able to let their guests answer without interruptions is priceless. Much respect for Coach Lue 💯
Ty Lue is a real one !! I met him & Chauncey Billups the year Michael Jordan came out of retirement to play for the Washington Wizards. I was promoting LL Cool J's single "Luv U Better" in NYC & when I went to go pick up my check at the club, my friend & I decided to sit in some VIP seats for awhile to take in the atmosphere. Out of nowhere, Ty Lue & Billups walked up to the ropes & asked if they could sit at the table next to us b/c they just wanted to chill & not be bothered. I gave the greenlight & eventually we all had a conversation. It was that convo that Ty Lue told us that Michael Jordan was coming back to play at 40 yrs old for the Wizards. And this was before it was announced. We knew before ESPN & all major news outlets !! Both Lue & Billups were cool af & I'm glad to see both of them are NBA coaches now. Salute & much respect to both of these champions on the court & in life as good people.
Ty Lue is a hella of coach and broader than that, hearing him talk about taking care of his family and the value he places on them, says how great of a human being he is and it pays tribute to the ones who raised him, mad respect to coach lue!!!
this Podcast has NBAonTNTvibes written all over it,they headed for greatness..best Podcast on social media, great rapport with guests, great guests and fantastic cast of interviewers and Chan is crazy always got me laughing
Great questions and Ty Lue is so interesting! You didn’t shy away from the hard questions about load management or superstars! Really enjoyed this episode
I literally used to be over there at Mr. Van Exels house with his son cuz my god father was on the team and played with him at Cincy. Eddie Jone sure was right around the corner same complex. They were such nice people man. Really showed me a lot of love and spit a LOT of game. I was always appreciative to be able to be around such successful guys and I know Mr. Lue probably won’t read this, but I’ll never forget you taking me and lil Nick to get ice cream. Forever grateful
I watched this because I did not know much about Coach Lue. Never heard of him in college. Wondered how he got to the league. New found respect. I'd play for him! Keep doing it Coach!
Lue is a real dude. He was blessed to get those 2 chips early that way, that wasn't his focus. Now he could get the bread. Knowing your role is key. The fact that he said he knew he was a role player and accepted that is the reason why he made it that long. He has no ego. That's the biggest asset to a good team. No ego
I remember seeing Ty driving around the Forum parking lot after a Laker game (won) on a Sunday eve. in a blue convertible Jaguar with his hommie’s sitting on top of the back seat 😆they were young having a damn good time in LA..Best of times at the Forum 🏀Proud of you Coach! Come a long way
People like Coach T. Lue are GEMS... not only has he played with and been around some of the greatest minds that the sport has ever brought us... but he soaked all of it in, carries it with him, and isn't just willing, but DEDICATED to passing it on to everybody that comes after him. That is one of the most admirable traits in a human that will ever exist.
I am a kings fan so when lakers was playing 76ers, I was rooting for AI and the 76ers.. I remember seeing AI step over Ty Lou.. but now to hear Ty background and his perspective, I have a different view now. I am same age as Ty and I would have never known about Ty growing up in a small town and how grounded he is to play 11 seasons and the success he had and learning from great players and coaches.. so thank you to the pivot.. RC, Freddie, and Channing for your podcast.. keep it up
I'm from Nebraska. I've been following this dude since he was in college. I was sad when Nebraska passed on him after he won a NBA championship. Stand up dude tho!
I’m a Hawks fan n been one for over 20yrs and when Lue was on the team the team wasn’t good yet but they were headed in the right direction with Joe n Josh but I never looked at him as a role player, bruh was really a solid PG n my favorite PG on that team, love that he’s humble as hell like that but give this man his flowers 💯
Also, at the time he lived in Mitchellville,MD & I remember going to School with ppl that Lived there & they said he had the Ferrari’s & Exotic Cars parked in his Yard……..

Shaq just giving a rookie 20 bands on the strength of being his new teammate and it being a lockout year is real as hell. Salute to Shaq🔥💯
So proud to have had him as long as we did in the City of Angels. The most dominant player to ever play the game. Love you, "big fella".
@@LisaNaomi24 Agreed. Most dominant ever.

Shaq one of dem ones
Shaq move like Jesus.
Describing the Cavs after LeBron left: "We had a lot of guys that could eat, but they couldn't cook." Great quote!
It was a perfect quote!! I’m gonna use it! 😂
Dope quote but they really didn’t have a lot of guys who could eat 😆
“We had different players that can eat but they can’t cook” 😂😂
That was a bar low key 😂
