Japan seemed to "get" the idea the PT Cruiser was going for. The Figaro, Honda Beat, Pao, Alto Lapin etc - they're affected and twee but charismatic, whereas the PT Cruiser had no cuteness, it was unlikeable.
The problem with the PT Cruiser was that it was based off cars from the 1930s, of all things. An era no one was nostalgic for, and whose actual cars weren't even that good looking. I _think_ it was meant to be a watered-down version of the Plymouth Prowler, which was based on '30s cars that got salvaged from junkyards and turned into hotrods by greaser types in the '50s. Portuguese word for bread is pão. That worm above the “a” turns pao in to another word. Pao is Pao and Pão is bread. Spanish and English Speakers suffer with the nasalization of the portuguese words
It’s the first word you learn on duo lingo. I was trying to learn with my Brazilian friends. The confusion I had when they all fell out laughing at me after saying Eu como pão. The developers played a great trick on us by getting us to all say “ I eat duck” to my friends. That’s hysterical.

"What's the weather like in England?" Seriously? I drive an oddball car too, and sometimes the temptation to just give BS answers to BS questions gets very real, although I've never done it. Rest in peace, the 7th official RCR car.
The list is as follows:
The Toyota Echo
Silicone Sally (Honda Fit)
Red Betty (Roman's SN95)
The camera car Forester
The AW11 MR2
The Vagabond Falcon
And, now gone, the Nissan Pao.
What's next for RCR? Who knows.
He got rid of the Forester? I must have missed that news. What replaced it?
I feel like he's reached the point where he's realized he can be a professional car flipper. Buy anything, say it belonged to a famous person (himself), resell it to the highest bidder, easy profit.

I really frickin want this car, its just so excellent. Its retro yet modern, stylish yet simple, quirky yet simple. I'd kill for one of these things
Here I thought this was gonna be a Technology Connections crossover based off the thumbnail, because I though it was a Nissan Figaro at first.
Makes me wonder, how many variants of these small retro-cute city cars did Nissan make?
Figaro and Pao were based on the same platform, the Nissan March (or Micra, as it was called here) K10. There's bound to be some confusion.
I thought Aging Wheels.
@@NandR it was the aging wheels and technology connections crossover video.

I'd say like a car from anime but they're usually spot on with recreations of 70s hatchbacks from Europe.
The wobbling back and forth in its lane did remind me a smidge of the cartoon mannerisms of Lupin's Fiat 500.
“Oh? You think you’re cute?”
Pao: “I’m adorable :p”
Nissan Pao: When you want a Renault R4 but without back doors and a steering wheel on the wrong side of the car.
If you want a Pao, get an R4, it's more practical, lighter, funnier to drive, can be entered in raid rallys and easier to tinker with.
Good call. Never imported into the US, not that any would be left anyway.
The build quality of that interior looks more durable and ergonomic than most modern vehicles I've seen.
I know it's not cutting edge, but it looks like it was built to last. Cute af too! :3

Many English are too lazy to learn other languages, and to be honest they can barely speak coherent English. Even The Venerable Bede commented on it, and that was 1200 years ago!
@@Sepperzz If it's Portuguese I can believe it is intentional.
I loved seeing this car drive around Richmond. It was always so quarky and bright among the grey scale business sedans, and the grey scale massive "my husband is a politician" suvs, and over the hood of my grey scale p.o.s econobox sedan. A isolated ball of joy, like the vibrant pink of a dogwood tree amongst the brick and concrete of the street around it. I hope it finds a nice home.
"What's the weather like in England?" Seriously? I drive an oddball car too, and sometimes the temptation to just give BS answers to BS questions gets very real, although I've never done it. When someone asks "Are you even allowed to drive that?" a part of me just wants to very seriously respond "No" and just drive away.
I owned a 1957 Bentley S1 for a while. I met all BS questions with BS answers. "So this car really was built in England?" "Actually, interesting fact, from about 1954 through 1959, the body frames were actually built in Dortmund, Germany, which sounds bizarre, but you have to remember that the entire Ruhr region was under control of the British military government...."
Understanding the market the car was created for and, where in the world the car was supposed to be used makes you appreciate it's design. I got to see quite a few Kei Cars and loved the idea! and loved the cars too!. You don't think they should work, but, not only do they, but, they're rumoured to be more fun than larger cars. I wish that in Canada we could get more of them.
Return of the mack really is a great song. My favorite. Always on #1 on my Spotify.

Its a single point injection. Its used in a lot of cars, because its shaped like a carburator, so you can retrofit an EFI to a car the cheap way. kinda like when you upgrade your 4 barrel carb to a holley efi, but cheaper, and 10 times slower than the carb.
Right when you said "FULL SEND" I got an ad for a noodle strainer, like it's specifically for noodles. I wish I could elaborate more but I can add that it's pink and it folds into a compact wedge(?)
Hey! I have one of those! I love it. It's like ugly and bad to drive in the best, most charming ways. Driving it is like a conversation with your funny, charismatic friend, who's clumsy and sometimes says out-of-pocket things, but is a big sweetheart deepdown.

Saw one of these wonderful cars at a rip-off Nissan Figaro "Expert" in Woodford, East London in England back in 2007. Yes, we know it is a Nissan Micra, the full service came to £350. Naoki Sakai is a great designer, the Pike series was awesome, he also created the Olympus O product camera (retro styling, modern guts). Its so cool how well he was able to distill design elements from late 60's- 70's compact cars, threre's some Renault, Honda, and maybe a dash of Citroen as well.
