This is the true progress of Metal; bands like Oranssi Pazuzu, Blood incantation, Imperial triumphant, Blut aus nord, are redefining the rules to make excellent high-end Metal. The devils and painted faces are already behind us, make way for the new Metal. Here is an excellent band that pushes Metal to other broader horizons, exploring the human psyche with landscapes charged with a mystical atmosphere, ideal for burning a blunt and flying away. .. Or something more surreal.

20buckspin ceaselessly offer forth Metal of the most uncompromising and artistic nature. I am forever smitten by the savage and scintillating music they enable us to experience. Lunar Chamber conjure forth a sonic froth that is like a confluence of Death at their most progressive, vintage Cynic and Decrepit Birth. Utterly awe inspiring stuff.
The fretless bass work , overall production quality and of course the song writing are all stellar and well above average. You guys made something impressive and unique and I really dig the hell out of it. \m/

I'd also say there's vibes like Sutrah (similar focus on spirituality and technicality) filtered through Cosmic Putrefaction (the foreboding atmosphere).
Death Metal (music in general) that hits both sonic and thematic notes of cosmological spirituality whilst remaining intense and with depth. Sign me up. Anyone into this should already know of Elvenefris. The Mithras discography comes to mind as well. If you're new to Mithras, start with the most recent and go backwards.
Got a real "BLues for Allah" feel on the vocals on III. Crystalline Blessed Light Flows... From Violet Mountains Into Lunar Chambers. Who woulda thunk it? Very cool. Are you guys Deaheads on the down low?
