    Thanks for the review guys, enjoyed!
    Appreciate the in depth review on the details like battens, Matrix & N-WEAVE45, etc.

    Nice review. Will you be doing a review of the 2024 North Seek? I have not seen any reviews of this board anywhere.

    Nice work boys! Quick on the review.
    For the different pressures, inflate from the strut, pinch at 7psi to isolate the LE and keep pumping :D

      Thanks @scp8412! Haha, yes I do that usually but I wanted to see what it was like with the exact recommendations. I was surprised how stiff it was at 7psi. I have no doubt that people will adopt your technique. Thanks for watching mate.

    Still no radial panels? They've been making them in racing sails for decades when molded sails arent an option. Why arent they doing that here? Do they get better shapes and tension with this layout, at the expense of stretch?

    • @MikeRaper0505
      @MikeRaper0505 Год назад +5

      Great question... We tested radial panel layout concept across multiple samples, but we found that they did not improve performance, instead we have orientated the warp & weft to spread the loading where we think it needs to be, without giving away an IP, we found the new panel layout was more efficient at spreading the load. If you have a close look you will find that the orientation changes depending on the location.
      We’ve specifically designed our new low-stretch, low-deflection Matrix N-HTRS high-tenacity canopy material to manage the added tension of the N-Weave 45 airframe, further increasing the wind range, and holding its shape in all conditions.
      The Matrix material makes a huge difference. Compared to a traditional canopy Matrix is 2.5x stronger on the 0/90deg warp/weft direction and 5x stronger on the 45deg bias direction. This gives your wing canopy greater structural integrity for longer. It will maintain its designed shape over time, especially when used in the overpowered conditions that the Mode Pro excels in.

      @@MikeRaper0505 i saw you teased downwind board more then 3 month ago and then rebranding happened. Does it mean that new downwind board will not be available anytime soon ?😢

      I can't answer that better than Mike!

    Still worth buying last year models on sale now or there is a massive improvement in build quality and performance now?

    • @hydrofoilacademy
      @hydrofoilacademy  Год назад

      Last years Mode is a great wing and if you can get a bargain, i'd recommend it. That being said, the new Mode is definitely built to last longer and it handles better in my opinion. If you can afford it, i'd go with the new Mode!

  • @stevefollis9454
    @stevefollis9454 Год назад

    I do not understand why you say that 2 inflation valves would be better as my Modes and Pro modes already have 2 (one for the LEI and another for the centre strut)?

    • @hydrofoilacademy
      @hydrofoilacademy  Год назад

      I mean so that they are completely independent with no inter-linking tube.

      @@hydrofoilacademy yeah, for me I never open the air interlock always inflate independently but suppose it keeps all users happier as you can choose which method you prefer.

    Great review! I'm keen to move up from the Nova to the Mode, just debating between the 4.8 and 5.5. Interested to hear your thoughts how the 4.8 compares to the Nova 5.0?

      Hi mate, I was on the North Sonar HA 950 with the 208 tail and no shim. 95 Carbon mast. It was super gusty with sometimes no wind and gusts of maybe 12-15kts. Hope that helps.

      Thank you! Not sure i'm afraid as I've not actually used a Flux. Low end is great in this wing though.
