The 2023 Juno Awards took place at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta on March 13. Hosted by Simu Liu, it included performances by Tate McCrae, AP Dhillon, Tenille Townes, Alexisonfire, Aysanabee, Banx & Ranx, Preston Pablo, Rêve, Jessie Reyez, a special hip-hop tribute featuring Kardinal Offishall, Haviah Mighty, Michie Mee, Mel Boogie, Dream Warriors, Tobi, as well as a performance from Hall of Fame inductees Nickelback.

I still love them! I don't care what anyone says about them. I have always supported these men from Hanna, Alberta. I even took my oldest daughter to see them when she was in her teens. I will always appreciate good music. 👍😊👏😍 Their longevity proves it. I'm extremely happy they are recognized as a great Canadian band. So proud. 👍🇨🇦😊👏

I must say this is the first time I have ever seen Chad under deliver on the vocals. It even sounds comical at times the way he is singing in this video. Hope he is ok! Normally he absolutely kills it!
He had some problems with his voice years ago.
Would say he's just having fun nowadays, which is something he and the band deserve hahaha

Nickelback has been one of my favorites since they got started.Chad,Mike,Ryan and Daniel are simply amazing.

I love Chad. His voice is a lot weaker than before, which makes me feel weak, but his guitar skills and face are just as perfect as they were 10 years ago.

CBC need to crank up the volume on this, headphones on full and still too quite. This meant to be listened to LOUD!
His voice has lightened up. But you have to think that it was overly heavier sounding before, especially during the recording of How You Remind Me in 2001. It has now lightened up closer to a more "normal" sounding singing voice now. It's not like it's extremely light though. It's still meaty.

@Alexandre Matt from Avenged and Brett from fuel have had the same issue. Post surgery they needed to learn to sing a different way and it's affected their tone..
I had to have a biopsy on my throat. My rasp I sang with is completely gone now. Sux.
Also the last song he was really rushing in the verses. Probably couldn't hear the band properly in the monitors.

What happened to Kroeger's voice?
20yrs of abuse plus vocal cord surgery in 2015. Has a hard time getting the clean notes, has the rasp almost 24/7.

Vocals on Animals really rushed, out of time. Must be monitor issues, Chad couldn't hear the click track I guess. Strange segues between the half songs. Dumb.
This is a perfect example of why people use backing tracks for their vocals on live performances.

I cannot believe that in 2023 and at a music awards ceremony.... that the CBC cannot even record an audio track properly.... if you listen carefully.... its not just Chad's voice that sounds crappy.... but all the instruments sound like their played inside a tin can.....

well he did have vocal surgery years ago and that does affect your voice unfortunately. but i recently saw them live and they didn’t sound bad at all.
his voice obviously wasnt warmed up, you can hear it getting better every song they play. he sounded just fine this summer when i saw them.

This was one of the only times I’ve seen Chad suffer this hard with this vocals. I saw them in Fargo and he sounded exceptionally better. Can’t judge a band by one video though a phone.
