Excellent video, it covers some very useful areas about what to look out for when buying a series 2 Touareg. I’m currently looking for a 3.0Tdi R line Plus. I once owned a series 1 Touareg diesel but it quite old when I bought it and it and numerous issues, but the series 2 looks a far better vehicle.
I owned a 2012 TDI . I loved it but it came without a Back up camera because of an earthquake in Japan that cut supply , no camera was not helpful for my wife parking . The new 2024 Touareg is not available in North America which is quite annoying as the European reviews I read are very positive , I checked out the Atlas but it’s not the same and Diesel is an absolute no no in Canada so I feel I never should have sold the 2012 .
@@Spartansrule118 Same here...There are 3 listed now on autotrader (one in Quebec City, one in Ontario and one in BC), but all three are over 30K dollars (30-38k)...All 3 have between 105 and 130k km, but damn expensive
You are talking about all the same and singular issues for all diesels and straight gasoline injection engines no matter about the car brand. For me getting water inside the car is the most concerned issue that all the things you have listed

These videos are very well researched. Great work👍
Own a 2016 and it’s a brilliant vehicle - you can fit 3 baby seats in the back also
I'd better get on with making some more babies then!
I'm fookin making one as we speak now mate
Buy the V8 TDi and have fun.......No problems, more then 400.000 KM possible

Why is the diesel a no no? I'm looking for a Gen 2 Diesel, can't find anything below 250,000KMs!

Any plans to make a video on the first generation Touareg?
We had planned this to be a gen 1 video but had requests for this gen 2 era. When we get chance we will be adding the gen 1 back to our schedule 😁
thank you. very helpful
2:45 Pretty incredible that a petrol engine can get this dirty. I thought only diesel had so much soot.
The hybrid screams "DON'T BUY" louder than almost any engine I've seen.😂
Nice work. What is the part number for the intake gasket kit? (2011 Touareg TDI).
Looking for this car now
All the best with your car search, hope this guide comes in useful 👍
Me too
@@wayneedwards5515does this video give pause about purchasing this vehicle. I’m looking at a 2014 v6 Executive
where is the 2,5 manual TDI? no problem whatsoever :)
Second generation had only v6 and V8
V6 3.0 v8 4.2
Laziest “buyers guide” video I’ve ever seen. Most of the info is for the v6 tdi for tight ass buyers and all of the rest are explained in 2 minutes.
