- Ms.Ashwini Bhide, MD, MMRC today released a short film on Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 corridor and also launched its Newsletter "METROCUBE" highlighting various activities conducted by MMRC.
While the film educates one on the details of the fully underground corridor, METROCUBE will be a bimonthly. "We intend to use all communication tools to establish better dialogue with Mumbaikars and related stakeholders", said Ms.Bhide.
This will be revolutionary for Mumbai Lifeline.

Underground Metro 3 is essentially designed for the South Mumbaikars, similar to Worli Sealink - both are directly accessed to BKC and Airports. However, it has names sake connectivity to existing Metro 1 at Marol and proposed Metro 2B at BKC. Therefore commuters wish to travel to new business hubs at Malad or emerging Bollywood activities at Andheri or many Educational institutes at Bandra, Santacruz, Vileparle ,etc. in the western suburbs , will entail transshipment of almost 25 mtrs ( 8 storeyed Bldg.) plus negotiate horizontal walk between Underground and Elevated stations. Hence, there is no seamless connectivity from South to West and vice versa.
This is because of all other Metros in Mumbai are planned as standalone Elevated alignments ( with as many Metro yards) and no flexibility for future expansion.

Hopefully Mumbai Metro will make the life of each and every Mumbaikar much easier...Congrats Mumbai Metro...looking forward to having this service operational soon...Also hoping that Mumbai doesn't go Bangalore's way by banning the use of Hindi in its metro like Namma Metro's Hindi Beda campaign. Hindi is a beautiful language and there is no problem having it alongside Marathi and English. And also Mumbai's traffic situation does not go haywire like Bangalore during the construction phase.
Marathis are friendly people. Hindi is being used there in Mumbai Locals and Mumbai Metro.
Problem with hindi people just that they don't want to speak in regional langage

MMRDA takes 5 years to complete a flyover...look at the fountain bridge that connects vasai virar...its taking ages to complete....and by the way project completion projected as per DPR was made on 2010...this is INDIA it will not be reafy untill 2026...

I can see the construction behind my society too. It is too fast. First time i was astonished. I was thinking that is it mumbai?. Because we mumbikers got so used to delay of works that we mentally add 5-6 years from deadline. But the dream is coming true, i am 100 percent sure i can use it from 2020 onwards.

Those are not common mumbaikars, those are paid actors. This project is the worst and harmful project for our mumbai. one of "dafaqer" is saying, it takes 3 hours to travel to cuffe parade. I dont know what the ffuq is happening with those vote takers & vote-makers . why they want to speedup the transportation. cutting our source of oxygen and planting escalators and corridors deep inside the city just for peoples convenience, is not the ultimate solution. These vote takers do not have the value for our soil. Who will be responsible for futures super flood.. who is responsible for cutting down our pure oxygen sources, who the hell are those people? why are they destroying our mother land....
that is not the ultimate solution. they are making those videos and presentations just to show them a royal mumbai. but nobody is going to be happy and some environmentalist have also predicted the uncertain man made disaster on my dear Mumbai. this project is needed in developed city, this should be done in developing cities like dombivli, kalyan, Virar etc. they should develop those places, then the crowd will travel somewhat frequently in one direction and then there will be good balance allover.
