#07 Cities Skylines 2 - Economy 2.0 - The Hard Way

- Since the update to Economy 2.0 Cities Skylines 2 is not that easy anymore in financial terms. A lot of reprogramming of the game has been done and overall you have to pay a lot more for services. The game needs now a lot more fine tuning in order to keep the city vital. As of early July 2024 some say this Economy 2.0 update is too difficult to handle and yes you can still use the 529 tile mod to lessen the costs for tile service fee. That's also a new feature, "tile service fee". Nevertheless I do want to try this the hard way to see if a city can be made profitable. Also 1 day after recording episode 1 CO brought out the "Detailer's Patch", which contains also a lot of smaller (service) buildings. Like I said, I try this the hard way, unlocking all, no unlimited money, no 529 tile mod, so let's see if we can make it.
You can click the little conversation icon next to the shovel (landscape). This will allow you to build the post office and small post office- you only have to unlock the sorting facility.
If you choose the continuous curve mode instead of the curve you can make the meandering streets more easily.
Make sure you check the building level information overlay before you zone more- even if there is demand, if the current buildings are not full, you will just build new empty buildings.
I do enjoy your style and the look of your builds along with your way of talking through what you are doing, these are why I subscribed and watch most of your videos.
I did notice the icon of the post office during video edit, so yes that is possible. Continuous curve is not always my favorite to be honest. And yes, about the buildings, I should definitely check out how much they are used. Thanks for the positive feedback. 🙂
Just a hint. The find it mod bypasses anything that is locked 😉. Can make things a little easier.
I am aware of that mod, but unlocking is the more natural process in the game. Otherwise it would not be that 'hard' in the new Economy Patch 🙂
