I'm a completely new player in war thunder, I was felling very demotivated to continuing playing it, bc of how bad I am at it, and all the moments where it would be so stressful. But now that I watched this video, I realized that even the best players have a lot of trouble in this game, and it isn't just me being bad, you motivated me to continue playing war thunder, thanks (I guess).

Pro Tip: Most later heatseekers cannot be defeated by just dropping flares. You might get lucky doing that with an AIM-9D, but most later AIM-9s have some kind of active counter-countermeasure. For example, one AIM-9 model just turns its seeker off and assumes you continue following the last known course.
awesome video, especially the frustration part, very relateable :D if I can give you some advice, if you can't have flares bring rockets they work too, and for higher tier missiles you have to turn off afterburner when flaring otherwise they can't help you :D
I have actually sunk over 30 hours in the past 2 weeks into this game, which may not sound like a lot, but I used to hate the game (my brother forced me to play it) but im really enjoying myself while playing, or punching my bed because I get so pissed off at people stealing my kills or spawn campers, but i have enjoyed it more now

Hey freezed! I saw in ur 700 hrs vid that u lost all ur controls. A way to fix this is by choosing what controls u want and in the bottom left one of the 2 buttons say export. If you press that, you can save your controls in a file called controls.blk. So if you use a controller and you are switching back to kb&m then you press import and press controls.blk to get them back. Hope that helped! (Btw I had to learn this the hard way.)
If you do play Italian air, use the Ariete, it can be an absolute blast sometimes Edit: As someone who has played a lot of Italian ground, it can be really fun but it can also be very painful particularly at higher br’s, still it’s very fun over all, good luck

I played on 300 ping in Australia for most of my time playing and there’s basically no difference to 0 because of lag compensation and how shit the servers are regardless

Ah yes death by Mach cloud, an option to disable Mach clouds would be great, they gave us the option to disable tall grass and certain terrain “features” that give you an edge when disabled
To anybody who's thinking about playing War Thunder keep a few things in mind 1. nobody plays the team everybody's an individual you can't find anybody to work with in a match. 2. my f4s I used to be able to get a lock on a Target 11 Mi out 10 Mi out... and now the higher I get in battle rating I've noticed that my f4s don't lock on anybody until 3 to 1 mi away. 3. if you don't have premium or boosters your missiles don't follow the lock your flares and chaf stop working. the power of your playing and the maneuverability is cut down dramatically. unless you're giving them money you're going to have a shit game. I've seen the exact same jet that I'm flying lock on me from across the map and it doesn't matter how many flares and shafts or Maneuvers I do I still get hit and I can't lock on them till they're a mile away from me. players just got done signing a petition because the economy of the game was fucking people over left right and Center. so maybe think about playing DCS world it doesn't cheat it doesn't rig the game and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to be able to enjoy yourself. Fuck war thunder play DCS.
