    Love you video. What would you recommend bringing to Cuba as gifts to the staff. Pens, razor blades, Tylenol? ??

    SUCH important information about the condition of the bills you give to staff. I felt so sad when I had a torn $5 American and it couldn't be used.

      Definitely something that we don't think about here because we can use anything. I once taped a $20 bill back together and used it haha. I appreciate the comment.

    Nice video and appreciate the tips. We've been to Cuba twice and we're doing a family trip this March. The resort looks great but I've read some lousy reviews of it on a travel forum. That's not going to change my mind. One clarification I'd like about tipping. My 2 sisters were in Cuba recently and they tipped in loonies & toonies. You mention tipping $5, but I usually tip when I get a drink & $5 at a time can get expensive. I was also told by the travel agent, that COVID insurance is a requirement by the Cuban government. Is that true?

    • @TravellingKareena
      @TravellingKareena  Год назад

      Hello. Thank you for watching. Yes, the government requires Covid insurance. You can tip with loonies and toonies but they can not use them, so it’s recommended to bring bills so that you can later buy that change back. I usually tip a $5 bill in the lobby once or twice a day to cover every drink. And that seems to work well. Our friends appreciate it. But honestly, Cubans are in need of most things so they appreciate any small gifts as tips as well. Go and have fun. I’ve been 3 times and I love it there. Not sure why all the bad reviews.

      @@TravellingKareena Three family members visited Cuba this past spring and none of them got travel and/or COVID insurance. For our next trip, the travel agent insisted we get insurance. My son got a family plan but I hesitated. But I think I will buy a plan. I shopped around and it's not really that expensive. Can you recommend an insurance company?
