Some players legs go when they are that age, it happened to Fabinho and Henderson in the same season. Age is clearly a factor, although it varies of course. You're comparing apples with oranges.
Fabinho and fernandinho both played in the same position as casemiro and both of them had their legs go at around the same age. That position runs way more than chris wood or salah does every game. So by the same age their legs are way more withered.

How much money wasted on Sanchez? Sancho? Ronaldo? Mata? Matic? Schweinsteiger? Schellerin? Fallanni? Most of those players were better than all of the current shite and yet, they weren't good enough for United or a league winning team
Who do they sign though? It's the same people in charge of recruitment that brought in the current shower of shite. It's more than likely anyone they bring in will be just as bad, if not worse.
At what point will people just accept United are a has been club and just move on, I get pundits played for them in their glory days but they’d do better without this pressure of being treated as a top club but the current players and form of a bottom half club.
I’m with ya. We’ve seen a new team jump into the top 4 in recent seasons (Newcastle, Villa, Forrest or Chelsea this year). Man U are no longer a top 4 club.
@steffen1405 that right there is the problem, they pay the players whatever they want without them having to prove anything or show they are worth it. Players coming in at 200k, rashford at 350k. @@asdgjgjhgs_hhhjsI'm not disputing it counts. My point is that Man Utd win in clusters when they have exceptional managers rather than being this naturally successful team. Outwith Busby and Ferguson, Utd have gone 25+ years without a league title. Whereas Real Madrid have won the league at least a couple of times every decade. So this period Man Utd are in is perfectly normal rather than the aberration that pundits are trying to paint it as.
+1000 Martinez is probably the worst buy that Man United have purchased in the past 20 years. He gives us almost nothing defensively, other than being left footed to help play out of the back, and his size and lack of athleticism makes him an absolute liablity. That header by Joel Linton was practically a give away goal when he went up against Martinez. Pathetic.
Carragher and Souness saw Pogba and Martinez for what they really were ...Posers but the hype train couldn't see the forest from the trees😂 and long may it continue
Newcastle were excellent and could've been 4-0 up after half an hour. It's difficult to tell which players are good at United because as a team they have no confidence whatsoever.
Iv watched every Newcastle match this year and Man Utd are by far the worst opposition iv seen. You guys are pathetic. Long may it continue. Up the league we go!!!
People in these comments are mostly reactionary, solely reacting to moments and missing the bigger picture. This doesn't rehabilitate Ten Hag in ANY way. Ten Hag brought in half of this pathetic squad from Ajax, these are literally his players, and he did it also after INEOS took over, so he literally had a big influence over transfers, because this is the change INEOS was supposed to bring, and did - clear power structure, and scounting department consulting with the coach. So Ten Hag is at fault for this as well. Amoroim just STARTED! You gave time to TH, you must give it to Amorim! But the ironic thing is all these things discussed is exactly what Cristiano was talking about in Morgan's interview, and he was hated for speaking the truth! Go and come back to this interview, if you don't remember & see Cristiano talked about it all: the lack of modern sports technology and training facilities at the club, poor culture and mentality all around the club, lazy youngsters, the fact that Glazers don't care, chaotic management! He said it all, and he was hated for speaking FACTS! With Ten Hag and CR, it was a different story and so bad, because it was personal, and people forget about it! it was so so bad with Ten Hag because it was personal, CR talked abt it too. Ten Hag didn't believe CR that his daughter was ill in the hospital& treated him badly when CR was grieving his son! We had an experienced leader & elite striker - Cristiano - and we scapegoated him, together with toxic media, blamed him for every single mistake this club has made for over a decade, then pushed him out! Cristiano returned because Ferguson called him and begged him, and Cristiano loved Alex too much to refuse, so he returned because yes, he loved United! It's obvious he listened to his heart not a reason! But instead of giving him help, some on the board expected that the almost 40-year-old veteran would fix every single flaw and issue at the club! And btw, Cristiano really gave his all, at his old, veteran age - he literally is the last United player, to this day, who scored a hat trick for us, and a free kick, you can check if you don't believe me. Yet I remember fans complaining 'why Ronaldo always takes free-kicks'. Welp, since he has gone, not one other United player scored a free kick, even tho they keep trying, and there are many of them who played with Cristiano, in that old squad, plus many new younger talents who are supposed to score goals like this now, in their prime, yet they don't! Where is the Cristiano hate now, hm? The irony is also, that if you rewatch the matches with Cristiano, even in CR's second season, Ronaldo was actually the one tracking back sometimes, while the young ones, 10 - 13 years younger than Cristiano, were doing nothing, just standing in one place or strolling. Yet Cristiano alone was constantly blamed for 'not tracking back', I remember this very well, and I have receipts! This is the general problem with the dispute about CR, I noticed it years ago: people don't really pay attention to what he does on the pitch & blindly judge him based on their prejudices against him! He still gave it all he had, but it was obvious that at this age Cristiano wouldn't be able to help much, the mess is just too big. Veterans like this just don't go to teams/clubs under total rebuild, they are too old for that!
And before it was all ole, right, and before that Jose, and before that.. walls of text don't change the reality. United have been shite since Ferguson retired. He was papering over the cracks.
Listen Man Utd might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table, let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there given what he's done since he's come in. Amorim's (Ole 5.0) at the wheel man. He's doing it! He's doing his thing!! MAN UTD ARE BACK!!!

I am so glad to see Man United in its current state. Over the years during Sir Alex era, they benefited a lot from biased refereeing and our clubs had to put up with that. Seeing you struggling and playing rubbish is so good. May that continue for a long time.
One of the reasons LFC didn’t go for Amorim was he plays with wingbacks, and Gray rightly pointed out that there aren’t many (if any) around, as no one plays that esoteric system. You can get away with that in the Portuguese league by having players with sub-optimal skills in forward or defense, but in EPL you will get found out. That is what is happening to Amorim.
@@theJuggler07United can get better players. They need a new spine. New keeper, new holding midfielder, Bruno replacement, world class 9. Maybe Ugarte could hold down his spot. Everyone else must go

Neville defending Zirkzee, yet I don't remember Neville being so empathetic towards Cristiano, his ex-teammate, and the almost 40-year-old veteran, and legend of this club when he was viciously attacked and scapegoated by the fanbase and the media, and during the time he was still grieving his son! Neville is an insufferable hypocrite, like the majority of the English ex-players turned pundits, who suddenly forgot how it was when they were playing on the pitch! Football appears an easy sport to the audience and from the outside, but in reality, especially modern football, is a very complex team game where countless factors decide the outcome, and some of those factors are not controllable by a single individual, coach, or player. That's just a FACT. This is why it's so hard to build the right, winning team, with great chemistry and flow - because while some of the aspects are teachable - yes, not all are, and you never know which more abstract and unpredictable circumstances will hit you& your team, and when! This is why blaming just one individual, no matter who it is, because the whole team and the club have been awful and plagued with mistakes for over a decade, is very foolish and just not right! Yet it was done to Cristiano, when he was literally being blamed for everything bad at the club and the team, which was ridiculous! And now I see people - the fanbase, and some media doing it again, this time to younger players! It's the collective of the power structure and the team that is to blame, not just a single individual!
"It's only been 5 or 6 months"!!! Can I just point out Liverpool have completely overhauled the entire first team management and coaching personnel 5 or 6 months ago and didn't spend a penny on players!! Stop making excuses for the abject failure season after season

Since Fergusson retired Man UTD have appointed a string of managers who have had real success before becoming the manager at Old Trafford and many have gone on to have further success once they leave that club. I think it is about time somebody at that club grows a pair and has a big clean out of players who have engineered a rotten culture and dragged that club into the abyss!

Gary Neville is the exact description of Flanderism. He has become a caricature. Saying stupid stuff just to appease the masses. There is no way he believed United would finish above Liverpool and there is no way he believes Arsenal will now. He is playing the part.

How much a month do Skysports charge customers for this level of punditry. The guy is an emotional wreck when it comes to Man Utd and should not be allowed to commentate on Utd games.
He should not be asked for his views about Manchester United at all, because it’s not an objective view. It’s more like a wish list. It’s a waste of time hearing his wishes disguised as level-headed predictions. It doesn’t do any favours for anyone, least of all himself.
@@ello_o-n3t If Sky insist on continuing to ask him, he should at least be asked how much money he has put on the line to back his predictions for the season and to provide proof of that financial backing. At the end of the day it's not the manager, it's the recruitment and youth team development, who ever bought Casemiro and paid him 300k a week, or for that matter Eriksen, or Anthony ???? it's incompetence beyond belief
If you ever need an example of why Amorim will never be an elite coach this team selection is it. Playing Casemiro and Eriksen together was such an insanely bad decision it borders on a fireable offense. Amorim is a joke.
Casemiro and Eriksen cannot play together. They have no legs. De Ligt is Maguire 2.0. Both are running with 20 pound weights on their ankles. I’m not sure what Zirkzee does well. This team is a disaster
De Ligt has been our best defender mate. Anyone who has to play with Harry Maguire is always going to struggle. As soon as Maguire came back into the team, United cannot stop conceding goals. Martinez is another liability. If De Ligt can start with Yoro and Mazraoui, we might have a chance.
@ I may not have been watching the same games. He’s constantly lumbering out of position. He’s sloppy and looks bulky almost like a Nicolas Sule. He doesn’t look to be in top form.
The weird thing is, everyone expects United to get spanked but they have a habit of turning up in big games. Wouldn’t be too surprised if Liverpool slip up
Why is this a surprise? Look at Newcastle's midfield: Joelinton, Guimares, Tonali. Thats world class! Stop dramatizing and have patience until Man United take out the deadwood cause these players aren't going to do sh**
Liverpool possibly running away with title, Forrest in 2nd place, Man City struggling, and Man UTD close to relegation. Anything can happen in this League 😅
I don’t think you can use the term “out of his depth” with United anymore, they’re a second rate club now, times change and United have got it badly wrong year after year since 2013, we’re looking at another Leeds
Good managers have flexibility. Where did sticking to their principles get Southampton? This isn’t the Portuguese league. Ole and Jose were never this bad lmao.
You’re just deluded mate. Go support another team. Typical moron who just blames the manager when things go wrong 😂. How many managers need to get sacked at Man Utd before it goes through your thick skull? Give me an actual number. It’s been about 10 so far.
I dont think we should be buying at all rn. We need to focus on selling. Whole world got used to taking advantage of us in the market. Need to sell players where the money is or where the player is needed. We can force PSG to over pay for rashford. Cas will get over paid for by Saudi. Honeslty saudi should be our focus for sales this window to break the trend of us over paying and under selling.
Amorim seems worryingly fixated on his system to the point that its blinding that football is a results and points business. As a manager you need to setup to get results with the tools and personnel you have. If you need to accept a draw against better teams so be it. This fixation on system at this stage could easily result in relegation risk.
You can try all these different “formations,” but if the team lack fitness, determination, the skills, and the desire to win you have a massive problem to solve.
When he bought Antony for 80m I’d have asked for Cleopatra to be chucked in as the steak knives in the deal……..it would still be a bust, but you’d have Cleopatra on the bench at least!
A spell down in the Championship may well be the reset United need, because nothing they are doing is working, countless managers, billions spent and looking worse than ever.
He was laughing at the dead man's stare every one of the 20 or so fans who stayed till the 93rdmin...to a man they were just staring into the abyss, unaware of the game starting into space, he wasn't mocking them, he identified with them and felt what they were feeling...it was comical to be fair
I don’t always agree with Gary, but he was spot on. Fact: we are in a relegation battle even now!! Anyone saying no is delusional. Look at who we face next Liverpool and so on.
This in an unpopular opinion but I said it in the first half hour of Monday's travesty (i was there) that Amorim is taking us down if he persists with his inflexible tactics. There is not one way to win football matches, anyone who has watched the game for any length of time can see this otherwise everyone would be five at the back. We must divorce Amorim's likability with his ability as a coach. Otherwise we fans will be as blinkered as the former Sporting boss. So far he's looking like the Liz Truss of football management. Limited vision, unbalanced thinking and not recognising the situation he's in with the players he's inherited. Confidence is draining, points have been lost without being contested and consequently the league position is dropping like a stone. It's time to swallow the pride, play a simple system and keep playing his best 11 week after week. He needs to be prepared to do this and then, with good recruitment over a couple of windows, he can maybe shift to his philosophy. To not do this is a recipe for relegation. Meanwhile I won't be joining the Amorim's Army songs. He's not the Messiah..etc
It's exciting to see how bad this can get.

Sancho? Ronaldo? Mata? Matic? Schweinsteiger? Schellerin? Fallanni?

Football fans? Reactionary? Never!
And before it was all ole, right, and before that Jose, and before that.. walls of text don't change the reality. United have been shite since Ferguson retired. He was papering over the cracks.
They got rid of ronaldo and then said "we really need a good striker!"
Best Analysis from Gary I've heard. That team that played under Ole, is miles better than current crop!!!

One of the reasons LFC didn’t go for Amorim was he plays with wingbacks, and Gray rightly pointed out that there aren’t many (if any) around, as no one plays that esoteric system.
