If you’re wondering why a cactus grew, It’s because dragonfruit grows on cactus and it takes a really REALLY long time. This is awsome and satisfying at the same time thanks I appreciate how much time you put into this
Shoutout to the cameraman who stood there filming for 113days straight 👏👏👏
I've never seen a dragonfruit before and I see that it looks exactly like voltfruit from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, which also grows on cactus. Thank you.
i think voltfruit might actually be based off of dragonfruit/pitaya
I resonate with the comment.
Never once in my life that I thought that Dragon Fruit came from a cactus.
Can we just appreciate the effort put into this video?
Unbelievable!
You should put a piece of paper next to them as they grow. For this one, I shall this cactus, Jerry.
How bout cactus Jack? 🌵
They can't read
@@dooovde Tell me something that I don’t know.
@@Vehxx- they don't even have eyes for a start
@@dooovde wow, really? Interesting. Tell me more.
Now you need a time lapse of this starting as a seed all the way until it has its own fruit.
yes!!!
From seed to fruit takes roughly about 5 years
Thats why this dude didnt want to take the shot
@@whyarepeoplesubscribingtom9861 nope. u gotta be blacker.
Wait wait wait- hol’ up… it’s a CACTUS?!
It deadass says it in the title 💀
@@Magentamaker I know, I’m just surprised?
Its amazing how one plant can make another plant
It's amazing how two humans can make another human
I had no idea dragon fruits came from cacti.
Me aswell
I had no idea either, but this just shows how disconnected we are from where our food comes. It is an exotic fruit, but still there are more people that don't even know where their bread comes from or what steps are involveld in making it. Which is kinda sad.
I own several dragon fruit plants including a Hylocereus megalanthus
@@ASHthenumber27 Worse when people don't know where their meat products come from, and they just think well "the super market". I can understand things like dragon fruit, they're exotic foods that unlesss you're from those parts will never get the priveledge to see (or if they get grown at home if they can survive our climates) etc.
@@lostindisorder that was exactly what i was talking about. I used a simple example as bread, it also doesnt suddenly apper in the super market. For meat its even worse
i get that the plant is the main focus but omg the amount of times the soil changes color, i swear if i were epiliectic man
it's the drying and wetting of soil
I would like to see more. I would like to see this thing grow it's entire life and produce a fruit In a time lapse!!
Yes, me too! I was actually dissapointed that it stopped and was like: where is the fruit tho?
But it takes 2 years for container grown dragon fruit to start fruiting
I have dragon fruit cactuses too! It has little cactuses now! I can’t wait for fruit!🌵
Didn't know that it came from a type of cactus, ya learn something new everyday huh
i didnt know dragon fruits were apart of the cactus family
Absolutely amazing! So teeny tiny to start! I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you for sharing!🌵🌸🌸🌸
Really cool how you were able to grow a Dragon Fruit plant in under two minutes.
So if you turned dragon fruit into a smoothie you'd technically be drinking cactus juice?
Just like in the last air bender
It will quench ya
Nothing’s quenchier
*It’s the quenchiest*
Fun fact:Its taks 3-4 years to harvest a dragon fruit.
Also my friend had a dragon fruit plant.
I didn't realize that these grew so slowly
yea same here, seems they take on average 5-7 years which is up there with all the fruit trees and stuff
@@LambdaTF2 Is wait you need to wait 5 to 7 years before you can harvest most fruit trees
@@davidaix5771 if it was from the seed, yes it take 5-7 years. It's faster if you plant the mature branch, it take maybe a year or less .
I love dragonfruit and I rarely see it in stores, so thanks for sharing this information!
I legit didn’t know a dragon fruit came from a cactus, I never even thought about it
"No matter what we breed, we still are made of seed."

I've done this also with the seeds of that other small cactus red fruit that is sold in supermarkets, the one that looks like a prickly egg. It's amazing how easily those seeds sprout, and that variety of cactus looks nice too.
