It was an enlightening talk about Toxic Masculinity and also touched the concept of beauty standards. Despite the fact we know how marginalised and oppressed Khawaja-Sira community is, we’re still focusing more on the way of expression without acknowledging what’s being expressed first. This practice seconds the notion that cis heterosexuals see the world through their lens of alleged normalcy. However, there should have been a trigger warning about strong language in the beginning. Thanks for sharing your views Dr Moiz. Looking forward to seeing more such content. Please don’t be disheartened by the amount of abusive comments, because that’s how majority of our fellow citizens are, so that’s quite expected of them. Such discussions are painful yet important. Pakistan deserves all your efforts.
I’m sorry to tell you, moiz does not represent the majority of Zenana Khwaja Siras (transgender is a misnomer for Khwaja siras because they do not consider themselves women unlike the western conception of transitioning). Moiz only speaks for a tiny minority of Khwaja Siras that are usually from upper-middle or elite backgrounds who believe in transitioning and “becoming a woman”.
