- When building serverless applications, you have a wide range of options for building your infrastructure and developing your code. Understanding how to treat both your infrastructure and application as code can improve efficiency, build in flexibility, and save time. The AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM) is an open-source framework for building serverless applications, and in this tech talk you’ll learn how to use SAM templates to manage serverless infrastructure as code. From serverless specific resources to pseudo parameters, you’ll learn how to construct highly flexible and re-usable SAM templates to manage your serverless application. You’ll also learn best practices for using the AWS SAM CLI in conjunction with SAM templates to develop and debug serverless applications on your local machine.
Learning Objectives:
*Understand the purpose of SAM templates and the available resources for serverless applications
*Learn how to add flexibility to SAM templates through the use of template parameters, pseudo functions/parameters, and import values
*Learn how to start developing serverless applications with the SAM CLI

Nice Tutorial!
Thank you! Exactly what I needed. I was able to understand the core concepts and to continue my learning using the AWS documentation.
I'm mesmerized by this. I read a book with similar content, and I was truly mesmerized. "Mastering AWS: A Software Engineers Guide" by Nathan Vale
I was struggling to find this overview of SAM Templates and you answered all my questions. I can't thank you enough! This is awesome content.
Wow! This was an amazing video. I was getting realized confused with what was going on after watching dozens of videos and trying them out. Needed to clear my mind. This was it.
We love hearing this, Abhijit! 😀 Thanks for watching! 🙌 ☁️
Awesome overview! Really enjoying your series. Thanks!
This course is Pluralsight quality. I can't believe there are 5 dislikes. Big thanks for giving it away for free. I have basic understanding of Lambda/CF and it took me 5 hours to finish the whole thing with hands-on practice.
Really helpful for starting out with SAM! Love your content!
Thank you very much. You are very thorough the way you explain SAM concept.
Our pleasure, Herbert! We're glad it was helpful. 🙌 ☁️ 👍
Eric is a rockstar!!! He hosted the largest session I attended @ reInvent 2019 and worked the crowd better than anybody else I saw.
Thank you sir!
Thank you so much. It helped me a lot to understand SAM
Great video, definitely adds to my learning!
Great video, a lot covered in detail
Great overview, thanks!
Thanks a lot for the video.
Thanks for this amazing video. I really appreciate it. If possible, then please create a video on how to set up complete architecture (with few AWS services) in SAM for multiple environments. This may help to kickstart SAM journey from the scratch for the beginners.
At about 19 minutes, there's examples of using variables and conditions - that's pretty much what you need to do multiple environments.
I love this guy
excellent
Very nice. Thank you. Do you if I can use SAM to build my data application? Like PySpark code in Glue
At 40:21 you say there are two ways to handle the build artifact issue, but it seems like you only cover one way (removing the .aws-sam directory). Is there another way?
one things seems confusing to me. Should i write my serverless code in monolithic way like the video shows (cats and dogs). Or is it better to do it in a microservice way
24:00 Sam init different examples to try
Thank you! Your videos are really helpful. I am trying a new scenario like I have aws Api gateway connecting to a internal rest micro service. Is it possible to run this in a container with the help of SAM. Means, SAM, openAPI, Microservice(not lambda). Any help would be really appreciated
Thanks again

Use aws cloud formation
the link at the end of the video don't work for me, is it the same for you? thanks
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Andrea. 🤝 We've sent the feeback to our Service team. 🔍 ^RW
Video is jam packed with information but sound are horrible. 😅
Amazon: "We'll take overly endless complicated services and layer on multiple complicated ways to use them, so that we've confused you even more...."
Voice very difficult to listen to...had to turn on captions.
Set the speed to x1.5
Dislike solely due to very poor narration. Unclear diction.
