Wow! I've never really thought about this. I guess it's all wrapped up into getting into race shape. I am 6kgs lighter than last season (with no power loss) so that helps with acceleration. My bike is 4kgs lighter than last season too which is a big benefit and I have ridden a lot of zone 2 to give me a good base plus doing the intense effort work on mtbs, road, cx in the off season as well as some zwift racing in the wtrl. All of that has seriously improved what I can do in a race! Hope that helps answer your question.
thanks for the giveaway answer. I've been riding very recently, mostly riding in my second heart rate zone, trying to do that, riding volumes. went to my first cyclocross race and couldn't get into the intensity at all, it was so fast and hard, haha.
What a great ride to come back from that mishap at the start! 👏👏 2:38 you making short work of passing me 😊. Hope your chain issues get sorted, do you think it could be something as simple as clutch off on the rear derailleur or mud on the chainring?
Thanks! I don't think it is the clutch - I think my rear mech may be slightly misaligned - a friend with much more mechanical nouse is going to have a look at it on Saturday., Cheers Graham - see you next time!
Mega!!!
Great video - and no i didn't hang onto your wheel! Sorry to see that last mishap; you were flying on the last lap otherwise! Martin
Cheers Martin - see you next time!
Great video, I feel for you with that last minute mechanical! Can I ask what camera you're using?
Cheers! It's a GoPro Hero 10. It's not problem free as it gets really hot when I charge it but pretty dependable and no complaints on 4k capture.
Great race, I watched it in one breath!
how do you prepare for a race to withstand such explosive work?

Discovered today that my jockey wheels were the wrong way round and the top one was where the bottom one should have been! There you go!
