Mgh! The best thing about this career mode I think you forgot! Players ratings depend on their form in game. If a player is playing good, their rating will increase, likewise the opposite if they play bad. This was the only FIFA CM which had this, they need to bring it back.

For all the people who started playing career mode from fifa 17.There was a time 8 million could get you a great player rated 82.Now that gets you a young player rated 71.Football has changed.

You should try FIFA 10. For me that was the best career mode fifa ever. You sometimes had interactions with players, staff or fans. It would fx. say "The squad has pulled a prank on Van Persie and he's not happy about it, what do you do?" You then get options like A) Speak to the squad about it. B) Play along on the prank. etc. It would then improve the squad chemistry, board trust or the fans' love to you depending on what option you picked.
I wish EA would just once listen to their fans. Bring back every feature that's ever been in manager mode into FIFA 19 career mode, and you should be able to make players change into different positions AFTER you start the career. There should be merchandising, there should be a stadium builder, there should be facility management and WAY more in depth training but they haven't added jack shit to FIFA for 10 years, they've literally added a few stadiums and touched the graphics up a few time and just seem to spend all their time making stupid, slow, swooshy menus.
Well people seem to be really happy with UCL being added in but sadly i feel that will make them push back any other new features we would could have seen added in. they just dont see how brand new and improved career marketed right could help them
I wish you could still upgrade stadiums in modern FIFA, I hate having a league two team with a tiny stadium not being able to get bigger when in the prem.
the career modes in fifas 07, 08 and 09 are ten times better and more immersive than the last few career modes. FIFA 18 career mode is utter shit, I will start a career mode and I actually have to try hard to motivate myself to continue playing. In some cases I will start a career mode and when it is loaded I will exit it because I am just reminded how little features there are and how shit it is.
Do a fifa 11 Liverpool career mode because: A - you have never done a Liverpool career mode on any fifa. B- their squad is probably the weakest of the big teams in fifa 11
If you play a ST at CB in FIFA 18 it works the same as FIFA 11, it’s just that it doesn’t show in game, I know sofifa has a function that shows you exact overall rating
It's honestly so frustrating to watch this knowing that's so many think this was the actual FIFA 11 main version (so non PC version), this is just updated FIFA in pretty much every aspect eg. visuals, gameplay etc. It's like just simming a season in FIFA 10 (console version).

Try playing FIFA 11 with Career Expansion Patch. This modification adds all European leagues, all South American leagues and some from the other continents. You can play for example with a team from San Marino and guide them to win Champions League.
EA really need to make FIFA as detailed and immersive as NBA2k18 myLeague. myLeague has so much depth in terms of statistics and also the ability to go into and finish simulated games. I wish EA could make career mode worth playing as it used to be my favourite mode. However due to career mode being the same every year I lost the will to play the mode and FIFA 18.
Its so sad to see how little detail is put into fifa now. Even though theres more emphasis on gameplay, it shouldnt hurt to put small details into career mode that make it more realistic . Smh

One thing that would be sooo simple but make the game better for managers like me would be the ability to watch the match rather than play it. There could be a fast forward button, the same as what PES have. This means you could be the manager at the match rather than someone controlling the game
Yeah, I think that was fifa 08, I played that game on pc every day after school. It was awesome back then and I wouldn't be done with the game in May like recent years. I just can't play FIFA 18 anymore. It's so bad I've even gone back to playing GTA Online this week

Your stats don't actually change because your rating lowers when you play a player out of position. It just displays how good he's there with his current stats. You can throw Messi at CB in FIFA 18 and he'll keep his rating, but he's going to be a horrible CB because he doesn't have the defending stats.

They Had so many awesome features back then... and if you see, the board confidence is separate from your reputation as a manager as you can see below your name and next to the team logo , that makes everything more realistic

Also, in 07, you had a player chemistry bar, a board confidence bar, and even a FAN SUPPORT bar (the fans had a favorite player, and if you sold that player you would literally lose half of, if not all, your fan support). Plus, you could see ratings change depending on which position you play your players in. You could also scout for specific positions for your youth academy. Oh, and if you didn't have a real life stadium (most of them were rated 10, which was top notch) you could upgrade it; you could literally go for playing in a one story stadium, and then own a massive arena. And all of the features that you saw in this fifa, where there as well. Instead of going forward, having the best offline experience, we now have a fifa that doesn't compare in any shape or form to it's former self. Truly, it breaks my heart. By the way, fifa 11 career mode on pc is fifa 10's on console. Fifa 11 career on console is where this downward spiral truly started.

When they play out of position their stats don't change, the suitability of their stats for that position is reflected in the rating given. The same is true in modern fifa's its just not visible. You can still check on sites like futhead though.

The ratings thing is because you're just changing the title whilst they're in the same position on the pitch. If I remember correctly you can manually shift them throughout your formation.

I played a lot of FIFA 07 when I was younger and I loved the way the game was, a simple career mode and a lot of small things like upgrade for your staff. The small things and the arcade feel of the game made it a lot of fun compared to the game today in my opinion. I don't think realism makes a better game to be honest. I love when you can just sit down and have a simple time and relax with a game like FIFA 07 or in this case FIFA 11. This was a nice trip down the memory lane, thanks mate and keep up the good work ! :)
Bar the actual gameplay (I do prefer it now - the Frostbite system is a lot better) but everything else here just seems like an upgrade on what we have now. You're right about the menus. So much easier. When I try and find my scouts, or even something simple like my tables, it's impossible to find. Good video by the way
I think this was still a feature in 11, when you had a team with a generic stadium (low capacity) when you upgraded the stadium, you actually got a NEW stadium. Pretty cool feature :) could have been 09 or 10 also.
I dont think the stats of the players go down when you play them out of position its just that overalls are calculated differently for different positions so some stats become more important for certain positions therefore influencing the overall calculation. So no they technically havent noobified its just hidden now, which is pretty much as bad.

The ticket price changing feature would make sense in FIFA now cus you have the board expectations for attendance etc

yeah in fifa 14 you had to scout to get all the player ratings...
Fifa 18 is the worst Fifa ever. The transfer cut scene stuff is fucking terrible too. The whole game needs scrapping and starting again from scratch.

I dont think the stats of the players go down when you play them out of position its just that overalls are calculated differently for different positions so some stats become more important for certain positions therefore influencing the overall calculation. So no they technically havent noobified its just hidden now, which is pretty much as bad.
