Back when cars were interesting, beautiful, flashy and possessed personality. Today's automotive landscape is so sad with mostly boring generic grey and beige crossovers that are hard to tell apart. Its so refreshing to see nicely kept cars from the past like this!
Beautiful car! My family has always owned Lincolns and we have always been pleased with their service. Whomever buys it will be lucky to own it. This is a very rare find in such great condition.
I owned this model for a few years back in 96. Every option on her worked, and it was the smoothest riding softest sounding ride I ever owned. The only thing was the "electric carburetor" Guzzled fuel. The 82' was the only year that it was used on. I would still own it today if my mothers boyfriend hadn't gotten drunk and wrapped it around a pine tree. He is gone now, but so is my car. Win some, lose some.
See, I'm just a car guy,My dad always told me"Boy,if you spent half as much time on school work as U do on cars,U'd be a straight A student! I've always studied cars.I spend hours at a time watching your videos and other videos on cars! I love love cars more than any woman,U can fix a car! Always love your videos past present and future!
I loved these cars, it was just the right size back then when American luxury cars were very long. I bought a 1983 back in 1991, it got totaled in a head on collision with a drunk driver. In my opinion this and the Mark Series cars were the best looking Lincolns ever made. If you didn't know any better one would think they were looking at a Rolls Royce.
Absolutely AWESOME car! I absolutely adore the hint of a slantback without overdoing it - especially given the smaller dimensions of the car from the previous year. The proportions are flawless, and the execution was better than Lincoln & Ford get credit for. It is indeed a rare model; and although the JFK Lincoln is, without a doubt, Lincoln's best design (along with the '41 Zephyr), this is my favorite design. It just nails it, and it is still a stunning car today. 1982's 5.0 V-8 was also being dropped into California Highway Patrol Mustangs, and the era of muscle cars outrunning puny Dodge Diplomats was over. And although this Lincoln is obviously heavier, the engine is solid and built for that kind of acceleration. Kudos as well for the person who maintained this car to nearly showroom-new standards. My own 2007 Lincoln MKX just turned 100,000 miles, but it is as solid a vehicle as I have ever owned. I wish I could say mine was in that almost-new condition, but I'd still give mine an A. By the way, I figured out you are in eastern San Diego - I'm in North Park! I hope I see this beauty out some day - that'll be me giving a big thumbs up!!
This car came with the headlights that would dim themselves when it sensed oncoming headlights. In the small town I lived in there was a flashing red light at the top of a steep hill heading into town. As I would approach the intersection at night the lights would flick: Dim, Bright, Dim, Bright... Just a funny memory of owning this car. This was also the first car I owned with sun/moon roof. I good feature to have when your car is always full of young crazy girls on a Saturday night in town.
I think this is the tidiest car you've had in a while - just immaculate really. As much as I like to see the project cars you've been selling of late, it is so nice to see a beautifully preserved car thats "like new". It's styling is a strange blend straght edges/corners and smooth curves here and there - love it! Sometime in the next few years I hope to be able to buy a near-mint american brand car of this era to use over here, and obviously if I do it'll be from you!
Here is one I have been waiting for. What a pretty car. I have always wanted one but I have to settle for the white 1996 Lincoln Continental in the driveway. I don't get many thumbs up but it is a clean car.
Funny how the 80's Seville was more popular than the 80's Continental, yet the Lincoln didn't have the problems with it's V8 engine that Caddy's had for the first half of the decade...
OK. I noted there is also a LIncoln Continental Mark VI 4 door sedan. So there were 2 different Continental 4 doors in 82? Was the bustleback built on the Fox platform? How useful was that trunk?
1982 was the only model year that the "Fox" Continental was offered with the 3.8 "Canadian Essex" V6 engine, which was considered a no-cost option. Was only desirable to those with tight financial resources, and it did not return for 1983.
Those bustle back continentals are so hard to find in good shape these days. Also pretty positive that is a givenchy because its got that slick looking dashboard and the style of that grille I think. I remember looking at one in a used car dealership in about 2004.
Nathan so in your opinion this car is smoother riding than say a late 90s or early 2000s Lincoln Town Car? I rode in a 2001 Lincoln TC and man was it smooth and quiet.
The Stars on the emblem on the side of the car would make me believe maybe presidential series! And yes DTE is Distance to empty! I've had a few Lincolns in my time! Stunning car though!
I have a question; could you tell me please how did you turn of the parking brake pedal? Is there any switch to do this? you didnt show how did you made this, this is very important for me. im not very good in english so if you could write to me in easy words. you did it on 17:45 but you didnt tell how
In these cars the parking brake releases when you put the car in drive, but there is also a manual release lever above the brake pedal. I have a Mark VII, which shares most of the mechanicals and controls with this.
10:45 That non-recessed wiper is one of the only hints of this car's Fairmont/Mustang heritage; Ford did a great job of civilizing it. This car with a 302 was a better deal in 1982 than a Seville with a 4100; more pickup and longer life.
mesage center booklet appears to be in English by that I mean it appears to be easy to understand not high technical words most of us likely never heard of
Does look similar to the Presidential Seal, it is actually a Givenchy Designer series, the emblem is just something on that model? The only year for those badges? I think? My friend would know for sure he is into Lincolns of that "era".
Those cars had the great 302 CID which was reliable, but the reason those never made it is because they have no iron frame under them and are UNIBODY and they were too long to be unibody. Now your town car back then from 80 to 89 had an iron frame and sat higher up off the ground. If a person would have driven the town car first before driving that one in the video they would have purchased the town car instead. I worked for Hertz car rental part time on saturdays and sundays shuttling cars between intercontinental airport and hobby airport here in Houston Tx. And the long time shuttles as well as myself liked the full sized cadillacs and al of the 2dr mark 7 lincolns (they had unibody also but were short enough that it worked) and they liked ALL the town car 4drs. But whew! That one in the video everyone hated!! They rode to low and would actually bottom out where there was dips in the road. The mechanics had LOW opinion of them too! The 302CIDS were good, but the way those drove sucked. NO ONE liked those and all those dash instrument panels were screwed up and were even loose because they had to be taken apart so many times
This car has a electronic message center! It's too old to have that in a 1982! And also, when you lift the door handle, the ring around the key hole lights up, so you won't have to scratch the car up.
You're absolutely wrong, they had 2 barrel Electronic Fuel Injection with the message center in 81 Lincoln continentals and up. Also, this car shows you it's a 82 and it has EFI.
All the drugs and therapest in the world can not fix a woman,But the right mechanic can fix any car! That's why cars are better. U can trade up or down and the car don't care.U can drive another car,and your car wont get jealous! If a car cost U too much $,U sell it, if a wife spends to much, U get to keep paying for ever! Oh, I love cars! This is my kind of porn!
Actuall those are alloy wheels with a wire design. www.ebay.com/itm/84-86-87-88-89-90-91-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-VII-Alloy-Wheel-Rim-15-WIRE-1295-/111185487630?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item19e32be70e&vxp=mtr
+Flies2FLL "It'smuch better riding than modern Lincolns" It was built on the Fox platform, which underpins the Thunderbird and the Fairmont and the uhm....Mustang. "It's got some get up and go" 145 hp is "get up and go" to you? Hello?
+SoulBaron just because it rides on the same frame does not mean it has the same suspension as a mustang... jeez haha... and they have little hp but tons of torque for your information
Back when cars were interesting, beautiful, flashy and possessed personality. Today's automotive landscape is so sad with mostly boring generic grey and beige crossovers that are hard to tell apart. Its so refreshing to see nicely kept cars from the past like this!

Incredible that all that Luxury & Beauty is sitting on a Ford Granada Chassy.
I'm in my 20's and I'd love to have this as a comfortable daily driver! This car is so unique and so immaculate.
Why don't luxury cars have opera lights anymore? They were so classy! This car was beautiful, Nathan!
This car is way ahead of its time

I had to come back again to see that pretty Lincoln.
+Cereal Marshmallows why do you always hide the car keys for

That is the most immaculate interior i've ever seen in any of your car vids

Wow, it is insane how a 30+ year old car could look so clean and original.
Man! That is a beautiful car! It's really well preserved!
Whoooooo hooooooo!!!! '82 Continental man!! Beautiful!!! :)
Sweet looking car. I think the "bustle back" styling looks better on this car than on the Cadillac Seville.
Lincoln was ahead of their time by having garage door openers in their cars in the 70's.
Funny how the 80's Seville was more popular than the 80's Continental, yet the Lincoln didn't have the problems with it's V8 engine that Caddy's had for the first half of the decade...

That is a nice one.. that sure would make a nice addition to my classic car collection
Presidential Series for sure!

I just got a Pewter one. ! One owner ! And she had her husbands Twin diesel ! I grabbed it too
Those bustle back continentals are so hard to find in good shape these days. Also pretty positive that is a givenchy because its got that slick looking dashboard and the style of that grille I think. I remember looking at one in a used car dealership in about 2004.
What do you think of dropping the Coyote engine in this car?
Nathan so in your opinion this car is smoother riding than say a late 90s or early 2000s Lincoln Town Car? I rode in a 2001 Lincoln TC and man was it smooth and quiet.
that was a keeper , hope its still out there
I like how Nathan calls the little Darwin fish the "little fishy".
i likie the old pamphlets n books and glovebox gear
It very nice car it good in the winter because I live in NJ
The Stars on the emblem on the side of the car would make me believe maybe presidential series! And yes DTE is Distance to empty! I've had a few Lincolns in my time! Stunning car though!
Is this car good or has enough space for 6'3 guy to drive? Cause I'm very interested in this car.
Man that thing looks like new.
That's why I drive an old car in a newer condition.
She's nice !
I have a question; could you tell me please how did you turn of the parking brake pedal? Wow I did not know ford had the keyless entry option back then. I bet pimps everywhere are drooling over this cool ride.
They introduce it back in 1980 in all lincoln line.
I would love to win a free car by you thank you for all your Lincoln videos
mesage center booklet appears to be in English by that I mean it appears to be easy to understand not high technical words most of us likely never heard of
According to that emblem on the rear roof pillar it's telling me that this car is a "Presidential" series.
Does look similar to the Presidential Seal, it is actually a Givenchy Designer series, the emblem is just something on that model? The only year for those badges? I think? My friend would know for sure he is into Lincolns of that "era".
So which car company stole this look first GM OR FORD cuz from the looks of it , looks like a 1982 hatch back Cadillac seville .
Those cars had the great 302 CID which was reliable, but the reason those never made it is because they have no iron frame under them and are UNIBODY and they were too long to be unibody. "It's a little cold-hearted..." LOL
Oh Nathan what will you think of next 😂😄
nice looking car. Ford man here, but I prefer the seville over this by a country mile.
Seville was the breakthrough.lincoln was a copy cat.
Exactly

This car has a electronic message center! It's too old to have that in a 1982! And also, when you lift the door handle, the ring around the key hole lights up, so you won't have to scratch the car up.

Dude ,watch a few channels and familiarize yourself with filming techniques. The non sense you filmed the whole episode was bizarre.
Those are not real wire wheels! They be real wire hubcaps!
Actuall those are alloy wheels with a wire design. www.ebay.com/itm/84-86-87-88-89-90-91-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-VII-Alloy-Wheel-Rim-15-WIRE-1295-/111185487630?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item19e32be70e&vxp=mtr

It was built on the Fox platform, which underpins the Thunderbird and the Fairmont and the uhm....Mustang.
"It's got some get up and go"
145 hp is "get up and go" to you?
Hello?
+Flies2FLL People like you don't appreciate classics though. So bug off. Go drive a honda with a turbo.
+SoulBaron just because it rides on the same frame does not mean it has the same suspension as a mustang... jeez haha... and they have little hp but tons of torque for your information
Cadillacs dont have all these bugs that fords have
Uhhh, V 8-6-4? I heard a lot about that Caddy engine. Most of it not positive!!
