It is such a pet peeve of mine when people say they miss the old BTS and begin by saying it's because of the English trilogy songs (Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance). Like do these people even know BTS has released other songs over the past few years aside from these songs? What about the songs off of BE, Proof, their Japanese album, Take Two and not to mention all their solo albums, collabs, and supplementary solo songs they've released. I mean of course I understand fans preferring genres from BTS but BTS are not a group to be put into a box, they are a group loved by people who love a range of genres. I just hate when people act like BTS has completely abandoned any sound they loved from them. And news flash all of BTS older songs are still available to listen to, they didn't disappear. It's just the stupidest and quite honestly a lazy argument when haters and even former ARMY use BTS' English trilogy as an example as to why BTS' music isn't good anymore.

Agreed 100%. I guess they just need an excuse to move on and there is nothing wrong in that because that is how K-pop works. You can also be a multi-stan or not like BTS anymore. However this excuse sounds very lame and exposes a greater truth which is that BTS is beyond K-pop because unlike most K-pop groups, BTS chose and continues to choose to GROW and EVOLVE. And, unfortunately, most K-pop stans find this truth difficult to digest!

@@ananyaa6664 IDK. I'm only ARMY but I think diverse discographies are a very common thing in K-Pop as are changing sounds over the years. I heard this narrative that BTS is extremely different from K-Pop and they're always changing for a long time, but when I first dipped into SKZ albums on YT music, I heard them making EDM, then trap, then acoustic guitar ballads, then indie-rock, then R&B, then bubblegum pop, then boombap... You get the idea. In fact, most K-Pop groups are quite like this, with notable exceptions being YG's girl groups. It's good to celebrate BTSs diversity, but not alt the expense of other groups who work as hard and make their own diverse music too.

@@machinelearner108 The reason you give Stray Kids example is because they are one of the few K-pop groups that have chosen to go down a path similar to BTS,i.e. experimenting with sounds. In fact whatever very few groups are doing this as a trend, are doing so after BTS and I think we need to give credit to where it's due. But I listen to K-pop and I am quite confident that that's not the case for most K-pop groups. Of course they cannot create the same song again and again and there will be changes but they have this tendency to go for similar sounding songs that would represent the group. Take Newjeans for example. And that's what naturally follows from the group not writing music for themselves. Another typical case will be Blackpink. Another thing to be noted in the case of BTS is also the very ORGANIC change influenced by their constant need to grow. It's one thing to change your sound because that seems to be the trend now and it's another to do so because you organically are driven to do do. Boracity's video has explained it enough already. This is not to say that there wasn't a single group doing it before but it has come to be appreciated after BTS' global success, indicating it as their trademark.
P.S you need not put the fact that you are an ARMY as a disclaimer. Even if you were not I think we can have decent conversations here.

@@ananyaa6664 I mean I won't pretend to be a NJ or BP fan either. But I don't think they're representative of most of kpop. I also won't pretend like there aren't some companies who don't let their artists write their own music, but again K-Pop is really big. I mean, in some of the very biggest K-Pop groups and old groups, there are prolific songwriters. The reason I mentioned only being ARMY is because (not you) but many ARMY in the comment section here are being a bit unkind with their language.
Jonghyun from SHINEE unfortunately passed away in 2017, but starting as early as 2009 he was a lyricist and composer of 88 songs - not the 4th or 5th lyricist, but the main one (of two or three). He used to run a show where he'd turn the radio viewer's stories into songs.
97/103 of Seventeen songs has a member as 1st lyricist. And 86/103 of Seventeen songs has a member as main composer. 90/103 has a member as a composer. This is information from 2021 so the numbers will have increased since then. In fact Woozi has been producing since pre-debut and SVT became known as a self-writing group in 2015, before BTS's massive fame.
I think everyone knows about BigBang, but to reiterate GD writes pretty much all of their music and TOP write his raps - in fact, he's one of the earliest underground-rapper-turned-idol (like Namjoon and Yoongi).
LE from EXID writes all EXID's songs and songs for other artists too (a modern day parallel to her is G-IDLE's Soyeon and pretty much every Mamamoo member.
As far as diverse discographies go, you can literally search up any kpop group (except some YG groups and some newer HYBE groups) on youtube, followed by genres, and get an example of what I mean. I don't think it's right to say that all these group's genres changed not because they were organically changing as people, because I think that's exactly what happened with these groups, especially SKZ, who moved from grungy stuff to cleaner trap/EDM.
I think that we shouldn't over-exaggerate BTS's contribution to songwriting, because as far as I'm aware, the earlier contribution is a lot greater than the current day. Between 2010-2013 they wrote and produced pretty much all their raps. 2013-2016, they produced many instrumentals, wrote all the lyrics, wrote many melodies, but the in-house producers prepared most of the instrumental tracks beforehand (see BV1 Yoongi talking about the tracks Bang PD would have prepared for them for the next album when they returned). From 2013-2016 (first 8 ish Korean albums) the member's names made up 60% of KOMCA credits. Whereas if you compare it to MOTS where there are like 15 composers and songwriters on most of the songs, their names are about 11% of KOMCA credits. So while they still write all the lyrics and many melodies, the contribution in OT7 albums is a much smaller proportion than say, SKZ or (G)-IDLE. Not to say that they don't have a massive catalogue of self-written and often self-produced solo albums. This applies to the rappers mostly; it proves that they are perfectly capable of self-writing EVERYTHING. But for whatever reason, since around LY (2017) they do it a lot less. I wish they went back to the way it was, so we could boast a lot more about BTS lol.

@@machinelearner108 I think my answer lies in your comment. You can only name a handful of people before BTS doing the writing and composing thing and I am very much aware of these people as I mentioned in my previous comment. As I said earlier, I cannot and do not claim that BTS started writing their own stuff in K-pop. That would be ridiculous. All I'm saying is that they made it look cooler to say so. In fact if you are an ARMY, you would know they were MADE FUN OF for writing their lyrics in their earlier days because idols were supposedly not meant to write their own stuff because idols were not smart enough to write their own stuff except for GD of course😂. (I guess they coming from a small label did have a role to play in it as well). But now Straykids and Seventeen are credited by saying that they write their own stuff. If you are an honest person, you cannot deny that BTS is the group that made writing your own thing look cool enough to be appreciated in K-pop and taken credit for. So I DO NOT THINK WE CAN EVER EXAGGERATE BTS's CONTRIBUTION TO THE SONG-WRITING TREND IN K-POP which is increasing day by day thanks to them.
Secondly, when I say that we cannot exaggerate BTS' impact on the trend in K-pop celebrating song-writing, I do not mean to say that they have written more songs than anyone else because I really do not believe that the number of songs you have to your credit makes you a better artist. BTS have proven time and again what they are capable of and they aren't the kind of people to go about proving to people that they write their songs because they don't need to at this point. They have their own dreams and they pursue it creatively in whichever way they feel it's right. For example, V did not have a single credit to himself on Layover. But anyone who knows V and his music know that Layover was all V. Have you heard any other album by a K-pop artist that sounds like V's? I bet not. But I'm sure in the near or far future we will get to a place where many k-pop artists will make albums like that. That what BTS has been doing as trendsetters. As an ARMY I trust them and their process enough to know that even if they don't have song credits on an album, they are very ethical artists and whatever they are putting out are their stories and what they are feeling at that point.
Thirdly, I have heard many songs from other groups including StrayKids and Ateez and Seventeen. Show me one group that has the lyrical depth and depth of content as BTS. Show me one song like the poetry that is Spring Day or Seoul. One song as raw as My Amygdala or the Last, one song with the kind of direct satirical social commentary on divisive politics, existing economic structures, such as Go Go, Baepsae, Haegeum, and many many more, one song on truly talking about the little cultures of S.Korea, highlighting them while asserting the need to have cohesion between them, as in the case of Paldoganhsan and Ma City. The conversation can go on. It is just that once you have found a gold mine like BTS who are as authentic as they talk of wanting to be in their songs and not just talk about Jung and Hasse but really truly try to incorporate them in their lives, it becomes very difficult for you to be mire impressed by any other groups that you see talking about concepts similar to some already talked about by BTS such as mental health and self-reflection, rebelling against "systems," etc. Are Ateez and Stray Kids talented groups who have great msuic and have great songs talking of these issue staht should be appreciated? Yes. Do they have something more than BTS can offer? For me, NO! I do enjoy their styles of music. It brings variety but they don't have anything more than BTS for me to STAN them per say. There is a reason why ARMY is the biggest fandom in the world. Because ARMYs cosnsist of people from schools to universities, from philosophers to writers and politicians who understand what BTS is. My point is that any group trying to write their own songs must be appreciated but the quality of songs too matter and just because I have 100 credits to me and someone else has 5O to his/her, doens't mean I am a better artist than that person and must be respected exactly like the other one. About BTS not writing much of the group songs in last few years, I am surprised you say that because you claim to be an ARMY. If you are one, you ought to know what they have been going through in the last few years as RM has said they were going through a burnout and couldn't enjoy doing what they do. (That's another thing BTS is good at. Not hiding their imperfections, of which they talk about in their songs and that too contributes to their authenticity and makes them more humane and relatable to ARMYs) Let the other groups you have mentioned go through the toil BTS had to because they were the first to reach beyond K-pop's imagination and there is a high chance that these other artists will go through the same process. Anyways, I personally don't at all mind it because I know for sure they have full creative control on what they are doing. Infact Suga and Jimin, in Suchwita have talked about making their next album only with the members because they went through a process of growth after going solo. As an ARMY, I cannot wait for their next album and see what else they have to offer us! I am EXCITED. I think Boracity has already talked about all I said. If you saw the video my comment might seem repetitive but I felt the need to address your comment because it seemed that it went in the same direction of "I used to like old BTS songs". Sorry, that's not the case for me. I enjoy their present songs as much a sI did their old ones and as time goes, I see them become more and more authentic. I cannot ask for better! This was LOOONG! Bye! Take Care!💜

Honestly I think a lot of people miss bts eras because one they weren’t there to experience it themselves and wish they could and 2 they don’t dive enough into bts and just see the main stream songs, they still release songs for everyone to enjoy and 3 because they wanna keep bts in the kpop bubble even with solo albums they want the “art of black swan” well they are grown up from that and releasing music they want to as SOLO artist and the biggest one is golden but if you see how much effort jungkook put into that even with helping directing, choreography ect he might’ve not wrote the songs but he put his soul into that album just like the rest of the members and it’s all art, wild flower is literally a masterpiece ect I don’t wanna write a novel I could go on forever with every bts member solo albums. People just gotta open their eyes tbh. Layover is literally art, dday art, face art, golden art, both jhopes albums art, indigo art, Jin’s soon to come album is gonna be art 💜 also just to say if you follow bts you would know they never Stuck to a sound so saying “I miss their old sound” when they were always just going with the flow of life like they would say “ following their compass”

I always side eye people who say they miss the old bts especially if they pick the era before the love yourself series. Bts has made it VERY clear that they went through a hard time before the love yourself series, their music they made before the love yourself series was a result of their suffering during that time, saying you miss the old bts implies you miss their suffering. Also bts’s old music is still there, it’s still on Spotify and if it were true that you missed the old bts, why are the Spotify streams saying otherwise? 🤨 why aren’t the old songs surpassing the new ones all the time if you supposedly miss the old bts, I would think that if you miss the old bts, you’d be listening to their old music more than the new songs yet why do the numbers say otherwise? Where are those thousands of people that miss the old bts, why do their actions say otherwise? Also typically people say “I miss the old bts” after bts released English songs, mind you they only made 3 FULL ENGLISH SONGS AS A GROUP. I remember seeing people say they miss the old bts because they wise the Korean language in their songs, they implied that they only wanted bts to sing is Korean as they are Korean artists, I even saw people say they lost their Korean roots, that is definitely rooted in xenophobia because it’s definitely xenophobic to tell someone that since they are Korean, they should stick to singing only in the Korean language or else they are loosing their roots/less Korean. Everytime I see “I miss the old bts”, anything they say after those words tends to either be shady or not make sense. An artist is supposed to evolve, and bts hasn’t changed, yet to come was a reminder of that, they are the same people except they are now in a better place mentally, financially, and not being looked down upon/treated badly for being under what used to be a small company. I have supported them since 2014 and seeing them grow makes me proud, they found their sound, they showed us who they are as individuals through solo projects, they seem to be in a better place now, and they’ve accomplished so much.

I MEAAAAN, I just watch the intro of the video yet so I might edit my comment later. But I don’t think it’s always an excuse. I’m an old army (2014) and something I hear often is “BTS have always changed up their style”. Yes, true. But something they kept throughout these different concepts is that “rawness” or you could say “honesty”. Even Bang PD said that they got noticed as rookies because nobody was doing that in the industry. I’d go as far as to say that their brand was always an extreme pouring of emotion. The emotion they wanted to express is joy? The song would be 100% joyful. Frustration? The song would feel like frustration to the MAX.
I agree with the argument that complaining about the 3 English songs is a bit unfair to them. True. But I think people use these songs because they’re great examples of the shift in BTS’ sound. For the first time, bts are not writing for themselves, they’re receiving a song almost completely done by commercially popular producers, and the “emotion” is not there because the songs were not made to express something but to reach a goal/follow a trend (they said it themselves that they wanted to push for a Grammys at that time with these songs).
Many armys started noticing that shift with the English releases, but I started to slowly feel it around Map of the soul. RM confirmed what I was feeling in the Festa by saying that BTS needed to rest and build life experience because even him as lyricist, he didn’t know what to say anymore as a “band”.
I think that’s the reason I enjoy their solo releases SO MUCH. Again, it’s not a question of “genre”. But I feel that they individually have a lot things to say and express, and that they have an artistic vision they want to accomplish. That’s what attracted me to them and that’s where I know and believe they will always shine: when they have something to say. Not when Hybe is pressuring them to make a hit (or a “short song that’s going to chart well” like Suga said) or forcing them to come up with something “because the fans have been waiting”.
Was I confused that BTS started to care more about US awards during the pandemic? Yes. Especially since they were now at the top of the world. When they were rookies and it would make sense, they cared less about that lol. But do I “miss bts old sound”? Nope. It never left. It’s still there. I hear it in their solos. I just think they needed rest. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME my boys find something they want to convey to the fans, the “bts sound” comes through. Period.
    Quick examples:
Map of the soul 7 - I remember thinking that this album sounded SO bts. Found out later, they thought that was their last album before break and they poured everything they wanted to say before leaving for the military. It shows.
Run BTS - they knew they would perform this at Busan so they wanted a performance song that would show their roots. It has their sound.
Blue & Grey - it was supposed to be V’s solo but ended up being a group song. The essence, which was to express the pain of depression, didn’t die even with 6 other members on the track. The rappers added beautiful verses because the theme was clear and they could relate to it.

Yeah, I’ll just say, I’m not crazy about any of the songs they had written for them. If I wanted to listen to songs by Ed Sheeran, for example, I could listen to his stuff, which I don’t because I don’t like his stuff. Compare that song to ‘first love’, there is no comparison.
However, I still love most of their stuff.
That being said, I do feel that pursuing US ‘acclaim’ rather than just success, took them down a dull path. Just a misstep imho.

That's a very insightful comment. BTS recognized that they needed to branch out from rap and hip-hop in order to say what they wanted to, musically; it follows that their 'brand' is not a particular way of making music, but rather of being entirely 'them' within their music. And as they grow older and move through experiences, what they want to convey changes. Just as they don't stick to a genre, they don't stick to a particular time-period/era. I like that; a lot of western artists never get out of the 'love song' phase, and it does add to the overall dullness of current western music.
I agree, their English releases...lack something. They're good songs, considerably better than many western songs, but they're made by Americans, to fit into the American market, and while the guys are obviously involved with the process, it's not coming straight from BTS *or* from the writing/production teams that have worked with them so long and know them very well. There's a disconnect. That said, I would say 'My Universe' sounds more like them than most of their western-influence songs, as does Jin's 'Astronaut'- I'd say Chris Martin is to be credited for that; he worked with them instead of just tossing them a song and waiting for them to sing it. (As opposed to Bad Decisions, which I can most kindly describe as 'generic boy-band sound'.) Still, Dynamite, Butter, and even P to D were not meant to be serious songs, nor to tell a story. BTS were doing what they always do when they're seriously bugged about something: they keep it to themselves so as not to upset or worry ARMY, and they concentrate on comforting the fans and cheering us up. Later, when it's all over, they let it out in their music... and from that we got this extraordinary solo era.
The solo era has been extremely valuable in terms of letting them express 'me' instead of 'us', and ironically, this military hiatus is probably giving them all kinds of food for thought and experiences to ponder: the service itself, the separation, and the new perspectives. The only major downside to the solo era is the commotion it's caused in the fandom, and of course the major downside to the hiatus is just missing the heck out of them all. I do find myself wondering how JK is going to feel about his 'Golden' era in 10-20 years, because he certainly let it all hang out!

I'm nostalgic because I wish I grew up with them (I'm only one year older than Jungkook) not because I miss their old songs. The first song I heard was Dynamite during the pandemic but at that time I wasn't really interested because I'm not interested in Kpop in general. At the end of 2023, I rediscovered them for real and now my only regret is not knowing them since their beginnings... I mean become a fan only after their 10th anniversary it's a huge thing to process :(
I love all their discography, all their songs are masterpieces ! They evolved, grew up and they're all adults of course they're don't do songs about teenager's love anymore. I've also seen people talking about their change in appearance, like for example with Jungkook and his tattoos or piercings. There are definitely people who refuse to let them grow up, especially Jk, even though they are all in their late twenties or already in their thirties.
When I listened "Intro : Persona" for the first time I was like "Oh wait I've already heard this sound...". And for the rest I noticed some little similarities between certain songs but I didn't realize there was a pattern. For the new song of Namjoon I was really surprised the first time because I didn't watch the trailer so I expected a rap song but it was a good surprise !
Before I knew them I didn't like rap because the subjects covered were very often the objectification of women then I discovered the gems of Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi. (but I still don't listen to any other sounds than those of these 3).

Bts’s music changed with their age and their current feelings, back then their music was youthful because they were young and trying to find out what is youth, what is youth all about. Youth is all about enjoying the moment, finding happiness and having fun. Bts also touched on the issues young people face. Now their sound is more mature because they are adults, they are in their prime, they don’t need to prove to anyone through their music that they are the best because they know that they are the best, now they are showing us who they are as individuals. It’s nice stanning a group that is evolving and makes the fans feel like we are growing up with them.

I've been a fan of bts since the beginning .
I grew up listening to a range of music with different languages, decades, and genres.
People evolve, and so does their music. We are humans, and evolution is inevitable.
Bts had a great discography, and I thoroughly enjoy their music, and that goes for artist I listen to and watch.
I prefer to see change in people instead of people who never change or evolve.
Half the time I say thia song by this newer artist remind me of an older song I listened to growing up and that's okay.
Bts mysic from 2013 isn't the same as 2025 because they got older and went through life.
You go through life as an adult and your perspectives have changed.
You don't have the same mindset as a kid that you would have as an adult in your 30s.

So we have to let them grow, let them develop to find their identity (as humans and as artists) so that they are comfortable in creating...Produce work that is sincere and not fake.. no need to hide behind a mask (what fans like, not what they want)... works of art must be honest and pure.

I've always listened to artists that keep changing their sound (e.g. Blur, Gorillaz, Dir en grey) so a change in an artistic direction is a positive thing for me even if I end up not really liking the new stuff. It feels... realistic, so to say? Like, you found more things to talk about, more sounds and arrangements to express yourself. Not to mention that you (listener) get a discography for all occasions and moods, how is that bad? True, artists like these keep losing some old fans but a risk is a risk. And the core of their artistry is still there, the sound is just what they decide to decorate it with.

Honestly, few groups love their fans more and work tirelessly than BTS. I don't want to compare them, but you can tell by looking at Blackpink. The difference between Blackpink and their debut year is about 3 years, Blackpink has released about 70 songs and BTS songs about 230. What more do you want? They make their stories into songs, so as we get older and the times change, many things inevitably change, such as the way they sing, the genre, and the lyrics. Let's cheer for them. You may miss this moment again in the future

  • @nuhkyah23

I agree with you except the point that the songs were given to them almost completely by popular producers. Jhope Suga RM, Pdogg and Hiss noise are still there as writers and producers. Map of the soul did have a more processed sound which i wasnt exactly a fan of but look at songs like black swan, solely produced by Pdogg, friends produced by pdogg and Jimin, respect written and produced by Rm Suga and El Capitxn. They also influence the sound of the tracks. While black swan and ON sound over processed (to me)we can't ignore the message of the songs, they do reflect what the members feel which was honest.
They were always after chart numbers and awards since the beginning. Of course they made honest music but the sound of the music was made with charts in mind. Now that they conquered all the charts, they were after a grammy. Its only recently they got a hold of themselves and decided to focus on the love of their music rather than awards (which was expressed in the song yet to come).

      And that is not true.
      The songs were for Army.
Why is everyone forgetting the pandemic and the BS that came with it?
People suffered, were afraid, dealt with long time consequences, died.
People seem to think it was dishonest because... it was in English?
That is a sentiment that can only come from someone who speaks English as a first language.
For everyone else it is a "lingua franca".
"Yet to Come" said it quiet well: they are not about charts:
they enjoy it when it happens - everyone likes their work rewarded - but this is NOT what they are about - not even with their English songs.
Those songs were gifts and people enjoyed them. Why do you think those songs have been everywhere? On charts all over the world?
Why do those songs have some of the highest numbers on all plattforms?
In India the lyrics where used for a public announcement. In Germany a soccer club used Dynamite to celebrate a championship. In Korea 2 of the songs are still charting.
      People ENJOY thise songs.
Frankly you are projecting. They have always been this way.

i haven't watched the video but i DO miss the old bts, sonically. it's mostly just a preference in mixing and production. this isn't something that's just a bts issue for me though. i don't like how clean and perfect everything sounds right now. i like it when the sound engineering is more raw and the tracks are less touched up. this has been my issue with newer bts releases. it something that started with love yourself answer for me but didn't bother me to the extent it does now. i think the worse offender for me is ptd. i do not like how the vocal processing and pitch correction was done in that song AT ALL. do i still like bts songs now? yes, most of the time. do i prefer to listen to their older albums? also yes! though i must say, i have grown to love love yourself answer over the years even though some of the songs aren't my cup of tea

    • @machinelearner108
      @machinelearner108 3 месяца назад

I think the tracks were better mixed back in the day too. The instruments/synths were all placed so that you could hear each of the individual melodies/chords/rhythms they were playing at the same time. Every time you listen to a new song from HYYH or Wings, you can notice something new in the production. Whereas, in MOTSs or BE (or even the LYs) the background instrumental sounds really, really messy and it doesn't seem to be a deliberate choice either. Examples are Stay (compared to say DNA) or Moon (compared to RUN) where the instrumental goes between sounding like a mess and overpowering the singers voice.
I think it's got to do with the fact that they do more A&R since 2017, looking for a lot of outside producers. There are so many songwriters and producers on each song that it's probably difficult to reconcile all the compositional ideas they want in a song. Sometimes it's funny because you'll have like 15 composers, and they managed to come up with a song where there isn't much going on musically (but it's still sonically overwhelming) like WAB: the eternal. It was easier back when they just had the BTS members + the in-house producers.

No, because they are older now and have experienced more: good and bad.
And yes, that is your nostalgia talking.
You associate it with "easier" times - even when you may not have felt at that time this way: grass is greener always on the other side - even when it is not true.
That is okay but not quiet correct in the first place.
Don't worry. Most people feel this way.
Which is why people are trying to pull modern developments backwards - even progressive laws.
You just have to be aware that you are quiet certainly doing so: logic vs. emotion.

    • @machinelearner108
      @machinelearner108 3 месяца назад

@@Jing_Ling_Uncles I'm an ARMY and I listened to their whole discography.
From a musical perspective, songs from HYYH and Wings had a lot more sonic and harmonic range. What I mean by this is that the chord progressions and the chords themselves were such a wide variety and were tailored to suit the exact emotion or compositional idea they were trying to convey. Like Butterfly uses chrmoatic mediant modulation in the hook which invokes the ethereal and liminal nature of that butterfly, BST has the most complex sounding Bmaj7sus2flat5 to create tension with and portray temptation, Blanket Kick has such thick dissonance in the big band chords in the chorus to show the aching embarrassment at their failed love attempts. And I could go on and on.
But in albums like LY, MOTS and BE (I am not talking about the English songs tbh, they served their purpose of being fun songs) the chords are more radio-friendly. They sort of moved towards simpler progressions that you hear in the western pop of today (as opposed to the western pop of the 90s, which was Black music like R&B or hip-hop, which K-Pop and BTS are inspired by and
I think the decrease in rapping is also a shame, because of course you can acknowledge the dearth of solo work the rappers have and solo rap songs in albums, but in OT7 nowadays you can't expect more than 8 bars from any of the rappers and more often than not, just 4 or 6 bars. There are exceptions, but these are songs produced/composed by the rappers, like Hobi with Disease and Dionysus, rather than by outside songwriters. It's a shame as the rapping is the strong point of BTS and it's a bit hard to believe the kids who spent their whole life listened to Kanye and Eminem, started in the underground and rapped there for years and years, wrote a whole song professing their love in Hip-Hop Phile would really want to rap so little, like K-Pop rappers or features.
