Tbh, Epic games don't put much effort toward Original battle pass skins nowadays compared to Chapter 1 and early chapter 2. These days it's all about Collaborations. But hey, I ain't complaining (looks at my locker with Spiderman and Optimus Prime) It is what it is.
True but Collaborations are what keeping this game alive. It's how Fortnite is still standing at the Top of the Battle royale Genre with Collabs, skins , mythics and events based on a new or a really famous movie Franchise , series, comics , anime and even other famous games.

One of my problems is that they put edit styles in the battle pass to take up skins. That is the biggest cash grab. I have literally ever seen like I do not care for an edit style in the battle pass. We need new skins each time.
I have several problems with the bp: -Secrets skins not being secret and not story related -original skins being lackluster -No progression skins (gave so much more motivation to play) -Collabs as tier 100 (I think there should be no collabs in it at all but thats never gonna happen) - Extending to lvl 150 when the xp is bad - music packs being actual songs instead of extended emotes (it doesnt work as well as background music but I feel like thats only because too many emotes are collabs too lately) -Loading screens being community made, as well as the lack of loading screens showcasing sets (I liked the ones where artists were creative like S10 but nowadays its the always the same artstyle showcasing the character in a certain pose. Its just boring) -no more weekly challenges with a hidden battle star loading screen that explains the story -everything being made for the bp characters ( wraps for example from Ch1 passes were not tied to the bp skins and therefore very universal, but nowadays they are made to look exactly like this one character, what makes them hard to find combos with) The main reason for me to actually buy the bp is for the vbucks so I can buy item shop skins from them without having to put real money in the game. But now since you have to get lvl 150 and the xp in BR is so bad, I will only buy the bp at the end of the season if I hit a high enough lvl.
I would agree with a lot of what you said, I would miss doing like 7 weeks worth of challenges to get the secret skin instead of getting it in one sitting. The quests then seemed more fun like finding battlestars, now it’s just generic challenges like dealing 500 ar dammage to opponents.
Real on the xp part, I did all my challenges and story quests last season and got to level 81 at the end WITH SUPERCHARGED XP. And with a few days left I just bought the level up skin with 28 free levels. 😒 I'm trying to level it faster by doing the daily challenges in Rocket Racing which is doing better than doing challenges all on Battle Royale. (Also free xp maps)

Spent the rest of the days sitting hours in lego and doing xp „glitches“ and was lvl 153 after a WEEK💀 Its insane to me that you have to play non-BR to complete your BR Battle Pass.

We gotta get rid of the time sensitive nature of battle passes. We should be able to buy older battle passes and in general not have battle passes expire. It's annoying that you can pay for something and still miss out on getting it.
SO TRUE. To make it fair towards OG players, they could just charge old BPs for like 2500 V-bucks (which is normally a price of BP with 25 levels) and make the stars you earn either spend able towards either current battle pass or the bought old one. To finish up, there could be just a chance of one old battlepass purchase per season. This would both benefit Epic and Players too, not removing too much of exclusivity from OG players as well.

The last really good tier 100 was Menace from the season 5 of the chapter 2, he has a lot of style like drift & calamity, he was the last battle pass skin to do that, it's a really really underrated tier 100
It's not even a tier 100 bro, just the final skin you get. The tier 100 reward was just a fully armoured mandalorian. Plus, they still make awesome tier 100 skins like the ageless.
I think the reason why the battle pass isn’t interesting anymore is because every single cosmetic is based on the character/skin of the ‘battle pass page’. For example, I’m not saying there is, but say there was a skin in a battle pass called ‘Death bringer’ and the emoticon or spray or whatever on death bringer’s battle pass page would be called ‘death bringer’s rage’ for example. And back in previous seasons every thing used to be random, not just based on the skin of the battle pass page. If you know what I mean
Or they would put the other cosmetics of said character in the bonus rewards to where if want a complete set you have to unlock every skin and cosmetic in the pass to get the bonus rewards or to complete the set
For what makes the battle pass uninteresting for me is when they quickly use the same themes for some of their orignal characters which have less relevance for the story of fortnite and/or just reused a classic skin and changed the theme of it to waste some space in the battle pass. (Examples: Jules and the The Machinist for the first reason. Brite Bomber and Brite Raider for the second.
I swear everytime i see a skin in a battle pass that i think looks good or decent I kinda force myself to get it in fear of FOMO. Back when I wasn't interested too much in Fortnite but still had the game, I checked the battlepass/season thinking that it looked nice and saw a skin that looked neat to me, Renzo the Destroyer. I didn't play that season, nor did I get the battlepass either. Now months later, I regret not buying that season because now I am nearly obsessed with it liking everything about it, and whenever I see someone with it, I get happy because "ooh its that guy, I love that skin!" but also this awful gut feeling reminding me that I can't get it. The worst part is I'm pretty sure he was the first page so I could have just BROUGHT the damn thing and get the skin, now I feel whomp-whomped because 14yr me thought it wasn't worth it. Could we at least get maybe a different vers of him but in the shop, even if its something like a dumb recolor like they did with toon-meowscles? (thinking of a Halloween skeleton)

Nah I can relate but it's for one of the skin packs it being the neon ninja pack wit the crz 8 and neon lynx from last year which I stoll seeing that pack but I never bought it or didn't care till months after it was removed and then I saw video clips of thise skins being used and how cool they looked in game which man I fr regret not buying that pack when it was in the shop😓🤦🏾♂️
Lack of uniqueness (Chapter 2 Season 2 had animated scenes and other easter eggs in it), Bland emotes (No more toys or pets), Always a collab skin, Battle Stars, Skins based off of other skins in the battlepass... the list goes on.

I think the downfall of battle passes was the arrival of chapter 2, Season X, remixes of old skins too stylish like the knight, the disco girl, DJ llama, drift woman remix and many others, or just all the chapter they made some great tier 1 with unlockable styles like drift, blackheart and many others, arrived chapter 2, Tier 1, a fucking fisherman, I repeat a motherfucking fisherman, the tier 100 was fire asf but the fisherman, I was pissed off, They kinda handle with the season 2 battle pass but broo, a fisherman
I haven't gotten massive amounts of FOMO until the xp doesn't give me as much, that I needed to get nowadays. When I'm level 81 doing all of my challenges and quest and there is a few days left of the season. Somethings wrong with the xp amount. (With supercharged xp too)
yeah, chapter 1 battle passes had like 1-2 good skins per pass, but the rest were bad its the same as now. name the last time anyone used a skin from the c1s6 battle pass OTHER than calamity

every battle pass seems to follow the same format now. theres always 3 lobby tracks, 1 or 2 emoted that use lobby track music, 3 lots of super styles, a not so secret skin. It just feels like every bp is the same with a different coat of paint. They need to bring back the screens like in c2 s2 to make them each feel more iconic and different
People can say whatever but even with all this low interest Fortnite is still standing at the top of the Battle royale Food Chain and Epic games have so many trump cards up in their sleeves to bring players back, and also with the new Fortnite Unreal engine 5 in creative possibilities of Fully functional Rpg games with intricate plot and Story line in fortnite is not impossible. Good video I agree but I think they need longer seasons and like at least 6 seasons a chapter because Chapter 1 and Chapter 2’s maps are Iconic and they never really gave us time to get used to them. Longer seasons mean better battle passes. Also Ik it’s random but I am kinda glad that all the battle pass skins now fit the theme where in late Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 there was like 3 themed skins for the season and the others were obviously filler.
I feel like there’s either 2 reasons why the survey skins sometimes aren’t transferred well… Either the devs are lazy, or maybe what they had on the original design didn’t work in game so they had to change them.
in a battlepass we need: -OLD LEVELING SYSTEM -skin with their related missions to unlock stage styles -removing cars or lego stuff from the battlepass (I dont care) -removing collab from battle pass (only if they have a reason from the storyline to be here) -secret skin actually being S E C R E T with a map change + storyline (for gameplay maybe putting that skin as a boss) -keeping superstyles with less grind
The battle pass was added in ch1 s2 and it had 70 tiers, in ch1 s3 the battle pass got 100 tiers meaning Fortnite increased the pass by 30 tiers and back blings were added in the pass, ch1 s4 added styles and sprays in the battle pass, ch1 s5 added toys in the battle pass, ch1 s6 added pets and music packs in the battle pass, ch1 s7 added wraps in the battle pass, ch1 s8 I forget if it added something to the battle pass but it was free if you did Overtime challenges, ch1 s9 added dual pickaxes to the battle pass, ch1 sX had remixes of old skins, ch2 s1 added 2 player emotes to the pass, ch2 s2 added surfing gliders and the 1st customizable skin and ch2 s2 also started adding collabs to the battle pass and ch2 s2 had a really cool theme for the battle pass, ch2 s3 added the custom brella to the battle pass, and ch2 s4 had the 1st collab pass the battle pass evolved from day 1 of its release and in ch3 s3 Fortnite made a new battle pass and it was for the Dragon Ball collab and the new battle pass was called a mini event pass and it included an emote as the final reward and you could get it all for free by completing quests however you could also buy it all out and the mini event pass was a success thankfully I love the mini event passes and ch4 s1 had the next mini event pass this time including a skin as the last reward in it and you could get the skin including the entire pass for free by completing quests and ch4 s2 was the next mini event pass and it implemented something new the Premium Reward Track there was a free reward track that included a free skin to get access to the Premium Reward Track you had to buy it for 1000 v-bucks and the 1st Premium Reward Track was so good because it included so many skins I think it included 4 skins in total I think it was 3 that were unlockable and then a skin was given to you for buying the Premium Reward Track and the way you could unlock the Premium Reward Track after getting access to it was completing quests or you could buy it but when you buy it out you can also buy out the free reward track along with it and actually I think it forced you to buy the free reward track when you wanted to buy out the Premium Reward Track the Premium Reward Track was a success and every mini event pass contained it after that and mini event passes after the Star Wars mini event pass did not include a free skin in the free reward track and the Premium Reward Tracks after the Star Wars mini event pass only contained 2 skins one for getting access to the Premium Reward Track and the other as the last reward in the Premium Reward Track and the skin for paying 1000 v-bucks and the skin that is the last reward in the Premium Reward Track were usually or always the same skin just different versions and then Fortnite Festival came along not long after ch5 started and with it came a Festival pass it was a mini event pass but for Fortnite Festival and each Fortnite Festival season has one and they last for as long as the Festival seasons do and the Festival pass only gives you 1 skin and Lego Fortnite received a Lego pass for the Fortnite X Star Wars event that happened on May 3rd the Premium Reward Track gave you Chewbacca if you payed 1000 v-bucks for access to it the Lego pass is still available till July 23rd
The thing I HAAAAAAATE about these new passes is that they have styles take up tiers in the pass like if they rlly wanted to do they they can just do what they did for chapter 1 passes and give us progressive styles with QUESTS BROO LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT
The last good battle pass was chapter 3 season 1 because there was a lot of customization with ronin changing his helmet,vest,cape and etc, and haven with the masks, and that other tier 1 skin I forgot about with a lot of super styles and armor

The only thing that sucks in my opinion in a battle pass is when your PC has bad lag that makes you want to quit that season until you get a new PC but finale when you do the season only has like 7 days left
The main thing they need to do is bring back having the first and last skin of the battle pass have stages even in the old battle passes of chapter 1 there were some skins that were bland but ppl still liked the pass bc of the 2 skins with stages
What I’ve realised about the battle pass for a long time now is that most of the skins in the battle pass are completely unrelated to the theme of the season itself. They’re mostly generic skinny female skins designed to please the saddo sweats who will only wear the smallest hit box feminine skins. I see grown men running around the map in a fairy skin with a pink star pickaxe I mean how sad does it get?
Still think the battle passes are amazing. This season is pretty good too. At first I thought it was mid but then I started playing with some of the skins and they’re pretty cool tbh.
Simple answer: Every battlepass is the same now, a bunch of mid skins most people will never use with one collab skin that is the whole reason people buy a battlepass. Along with mid emotes that feel nowhere near as good as the older ones and some other random stuff that no one really cares about.
I think that collabs in battle passes are stupid. Some of my favorite skins and characters OAT are impossible to get anymore (ex. Gwen and Darth Vader). If they are going to do a collaboration in a battle pass, then they should make the skins somewhat original and keep the untouched skins in the item shop.
At this point I'm about done with fortnite. The battlepass, ditching the story, All the item shop, locker, and other changes no one asked for, and overall the 180 epic has done on doing what they want instead of listening to the community. Chapter 5 season 2 was the first time I didn't buy a battlepass on fortnite ever since I started playing and Chap. 5 season 3 is looking no different.
As much as I love the idea of evolving skins, you have to understand it’s really not logical on Epic’s part. They create a bunch of in between skins for people to only really use the first, middle, or last, and middle is still pushing it.
Megalo Don is an amazing original skin. The Brite raiders another reskin bu also looks good on its own(could've been a item shop) the machinist is simple, boring, & underwhelming(she could've had chapter 1 progression skin(like calamity)).

I remember being level 100 being was a huge flex plus I think that the special frame that your level had was super cool. edit: One more thing. I hate the fact that the colab skins carry the battle pass. In this chapter tho for me seasons 2 hades is a skin I really like and current seasons megalo don and rust(mostly because he is a version of rust lord a skin I wish I had) but Im gonna be honest the main reason I got the battle pass is because of the fallout colab.

The new battle stars system with superstyles make it less rewarding and makes it boring

The pass always has 7 skins and then a bonus skin
And then lock the original glider style behind level 200

And back in previous seasons every thing used to be random, not just based on the skin of the battle pass page. If you know what I mean
Or they would put the other cosmetics of said character in the bonus rewards to where if want a complete set you have to unlock every skin and cosmetic in the pass to get the bonus rewards or to complete the set

For what makes the battle pass uninteresting for me is when they quickly use the same themes for some of their orignal characters which have less relevance for the story of fortnite and/or just reused a classic skin and changed the theme of it to waste some space in the battle pass. (Examples: Jules and the The Machinist for the first reason. Brite Bomber and Brite Raider for the second.
I swear everytime i see a skin in a battle pass that i think looks good or decent I kinda force myself to get it in fear of FOMO.
Back when I wasn't interested too much in Fortnite but still had the game, I checked the battlepass/season thinking that it looked nice and saw a skin that looked neat to me, Renzo the Destroyer. I didn't play that season, nor did I get the battlepass either.
Now months later, I regret not buying that season because now I am nearly obsessed with it liking everything about it, and whenever I see someone with it, I get happy because "ooh its that guy, I love that skin!" but also this awful gut feeling reminding me that I can't get it. The worst part is I'm pretty sure he was the first page so I could have just BROUGHT the damn thing and get the skin, now I feel whomp-whomped because 14yr me thought it wasn't worth it.
Could we at least get maybe a different vers of him but in the shop, even if its something like a dumb recolor like they did with toon-meowscles? (thinking of a Halloween skeleton)

I never knew why they stopped making progressive skins, I feel like their interesting and flashy designs kept a lot of the spotlight and pressure off the middle tier skins.

I think the downfall of battle passes was the arrival of chapter 2, Season X, remixes of old skins too stylish like the knight, the disco girl, DJ llama, drift woman remix and many others, or just all the chapter they made some great tier 1 with unlockable styles like drift, blackheart and many others, arrived chapter 2, Tier 1, a fucking fisherman, I repeat a motherfucking fisherman, the tier 100 was fire asf but the fisherman, I was pissed off, They kinda handle with the season 2 battle pass but broo, a fisherman

every battle pass seems to follow the same format now. theres always 3 lobby tracks, 1 or 2 emoted that use lobby track music, 3 lots of super styles, a not so secret skin. It just feels like every bp is the same with a different coat of paint. They need to bring back the screens like in c2 s2 to make them each feel more iconic and different

People can say whatever but even with all this low interest Fortnite is still standing at the top of the Battle royale Food Chain and Epic games have so many trump cards up in their sleeves to bring players back, and also with the new Fortnite Unreal engine 5 in creative possibilities of Fully functional Rpg games with intricate plot and Story line in fortnite is not impossible.

Good video I agree but I think they need longer seasons and like at least 6 seasons a chapter because Chapter 1 and Chapter 2’s maps are Iconic and they never really gave us time to get used to them. Longer seasons mean better battle passes. Also Ik it’s random but I am kinda glad that all the battle pass skins now fit the theme where in late Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 there was like 3 themed skins for the season and the others were obviously filler.
I feel like there’s either 2 reasons why the survey skins sometimes aren’t transferred well… Either the devs are lazy, or maybe what they had on the original design didn’t work in game so they had to change them.
in a battlepass we need:
-OLD LEVELING SYSTEM
-skin with their related missions to unlock stage styles
-removing cars or lego stuff from the battlepass (I dont care)
-removing collab from battle pass (only if they have a reason from the storyline to be here)
-secret skin actually being S E C R E T with a map change + storyline (for gameplay maybe putting that skin as a boss)
-keeping superstyles with less grind
The battle pass was added in ch1 s2 and it had 70 tiers, in ch1 s3 the battle pass got 100 tiers meaning Fortnite increased the pass by 30 tiers and back blings were added in the pass, ch1 s4 added styles and sprays in the battle pass, ch1 s5 added toys in the battle pass, ch1 s6 added pets and music packs in the battle pass, ch1 s7 added wraps in the battle pass, ch1 s8 I forget if it added something to the battle pass but it was free if you did Overtime challenges, ch1 s9 added dual pickaxes to the battle pass, ch1 sX had remixes of old skins, ch2 s1 added 2 player emotes to the pass, ch2 s2 added surfing gliders and the 1st customizable skin and ch2 s2 also started adding collabs to the battle pass and ch2 s2 had a really cool theme for the battle pass, ch2 s3 added the custom brella to the battle pass, and ch2 s4 had the 1st collab pass the battle pass evolved from day 1 of its release and in ch3 s3 Fortnite made a new battle pass and it was for the Dragon Ball collab and the new battle pass was called a mini event pass and it included an emote as the final reward and you could get it all for free by completing quests however you could also buy it all out and the mini event pass was a success thankfully I love the mini event passes and ch4 s1 had the next mini event pass this time including a skin as the last reward in it and you could get the skin including the entire pass for free by completing quests and ch4 s2 was the next mini event pass and it implemented something new the Premium Reward Track there was a free reward track that included a free skin to get access to the Premium Reward Track you had to buy it for 1000 v-bucks and the 1st Premium Reward Track was so good because it included so many skins I think it included 4 skins in total I think it was 3 that were unlockable and then a skin was given to you for buying the Premium Reward Track and the way you could unlock the Premium Reward Track after getting access to it was completing quests or you could buy it but when you buy it out you can also buy out the free reward track along with it and actually I think it forced you to buy the free reward track when you wanted to buy out the Premium Reward Track the Premium Reward Track was a success and every mini event pass contained it after that and mini event passes after the Star Wars mini event pass did not include a free skin in the free reward track and the Premium Reward Tracks after the Star Wars mini event pass only contained 2 skins one for getting access to the Premium Reward Track and the other as the last reward in the Premium Reward Track and the skin for paying 1000 v-bucks and the skin that is the last reward in the Premium Reward Track were usually or always the same skin just different versions and then Fortnite Festival came along not long after ch5 started and with it came a Festival pass it was a mini event pass but for Fortnite Festival and each Fortnite Festival season has one and they last for as long as the Festival seasons do and the Festival pass only gives you 1 skin and Lego Fortnite received a Lego pass for the Fortnite X Star Wars event that happened on May 3rd the Premium Reward Track gave you Chewbacca if you payed 1000 v-bucks for access to it the Lego pass is still available till July 23rd
The thing I HAAAAAAATE about these new passes is that they have styles take up tiers in the pass like if they rlly wanted to do they they can just do what they did for chapter 1 passes and give us progressive styles with QUESTS BROO LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT

The last good battle pass was chapter 3 season 1 because there was a lot of customization with ronin changing his helmet,vest,cape and etc, and haven with the masks, and that other tier 1 skin I forgot about with a lot of super styles and armor

they keep revealing the “secret skin”/bonus skin, however i do think that dataminers and leakers ruin that for them.

What I’ve realised about the battle pass for a long time now is that most of the skins in the battle pass are completely unrelated to the theme of the season itself. They’re mostly generic skinny female skins designed to please the saddo sweats who will only wear the smallest hit box feminine skins. I see grown men running around the map in a fairy skin with a pink star pickaxe I mean how sad does it get?

Simple answer: Every battlepass is the same now, a bunch of mid skins most people will never use with one collab skin that is the whole reason people buy a battlepass. Along with mid emotes that feel nowhere near as good as the older ones and some other random stuff that no one really cares about.
I think that collabs in battle passes are stupid. Some of my favorite skins and characters OAT are impossible to get anymore (ex. Gwen and Darth Vader). If they are going to do a collaboration in a battle pass, then they should make the skins somewhat original and keep the untouched skins in the item shop.
At this point I'm about done with fortnite. The battlepass, ditching the story, All the item shop, locker, and other changes no one asked for, and overall the 180 epic has done on doing what they want instead of listening to the community. Chapter 5 season 2 was the first time I didn't buy a battlepass on fortnite ever since I started playing and Chap. 5 season 3 is looking no different.

As much as I love the idea of evolving skins, you have to understand it’s really not logical on Epic’s part.
They create a bunch of in between skins for people to only really use the first, middle, or last, and middle is still pushing it.

Megalo Don is an amazing original skin. The Brite raiders another reskin bu also looks good on its own(could've been a item shop) the machinist is simple, boring, & underwhelming(she could've had chapter 1 progression skin(like calamity)).

I really miss the chapter one battle pass skins quality also in my opinion battle pass tiers and your level being separate was much better. I remember being level 100 being was a huge flex plus I think that the special frame that your level had was super cool.
