How to Fix Xiaomi Redmi "System Has Been Destroyed" Bootloop Error?

- I'm using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 here but this bootloop fix will work on many smartphones from the company.

I was looking to install a custom ROM on my Redmi Note 8 and made a mistake that threw my smartphone into a bootloop. This is different than the typical bootloop that I'm used to seeing so I thought it would be a good topic for a video.
This boot loop keeps tossing up an error message that reads "The System Has Been Destroyed" and then continues by saying you need to "Press Power Button to Shutdown" and just a simple button press does nothing here.
Thankfully, we can still boot the phone into Fastboot Mode and manually install a freshly downloaded copy of MIUI. I've done tutorials on this in the past using the Xiaomi Mi Flash Tool but this time we'll just be executing the flash_all.bat file.
You can use the tool if you'd like. I'll leave a link to a previous unbrick tutorial I've done that shows the process. Since it's the same you can follow the basic steps and just replace the copy of MIUI that matches your phone instead.

1. Intro [00:00]
2. Boot the Xiaomi Redmi smartphone into Fastboot Mode [01:40]
3. Download/extract the MIUI firmware that matches your device/model/codename. [02:46]
4. Connect the smartphone to the PC with a USB cable.
5. Put those firmware files into your ADB/Fastboot folder. [03:45]
6. Open up a Command Prompt/PowerShell, or Terminal window [04:40]
7. And execute the flash_all.bat file as shown [05:07]
8. Wait for the batch script to complete [08:25]
9. Then the smartphone should reboot on its own [09:08]
10. Activate Android like normal [11:53]
11. Then compete the setup to fix the bootloop [15:43]

Hi Thank you for this detailed video. Your steps as well as explanations like "this is not stuck, we have to wait till it finishes setting up" bit helped a lot. I was being impatient. I too had a problem with twrp recovery img. After unlocking I was trying to root my phone, and after fastboot flash recovery twrp.img cmd, when I tried to enter the recovery stage, got this error "system has been destroyed". After reinstalling, I tried again going to recovery, got the same error and had to reinstall miui os a second time. So I rooted my phone without the twrp recovery option. All good now. I had this error after putting it in the shield upside down by mistake (shield pressing on the buttons). I just turned it off and on, it works.

Thankyou Man! I had some difficulties, here my little hints:
- I had to change several IMG and the one that workd for me is EEA Global.
- I had to change the directory where I initially installed ADB tools because the script didn't work correctly on c:..program files etc..
Now My cell is rebooting waiting for the result.

Hi there, I am upto the 5th step where you copy and paste the image files to the "platform tools". I don't have a folder like that even though i downloaded the "Minimal ADB Fastboot v1.4.3" from the video that you suggested in the description. I am very new to this so I apologise in advance for any mishap

The phone I have has the system destroyed issue. All partitions are RAW, not ext4 or anything. OEM Unlocking is off and bootloader is locked. Is there anything I can do to fix the device, even temporarily so that I can enable OEM Unlocking?

hi I did encounter an error when I run the script. It said that flash_all.bat was not found but it does exist in the current location. I just followed the command and typed .\flash_all.bat but it didn't work as how you showed in the video. I was wondering how I should fix this. I would really appreciate if someone can help.

Hello, I followed all the steps, up to where I unzipped the files, but when I copy them to the indicated folder, the flash_all.bat file does not appear, what can I do?
It should be in the files that you unzipped. If not it's possible you downloaded an incorrect version of the firmware (recovery ROM instead of fastboot ROM, for example)
i got the ERROR: "Erase is not allowed in Lock State". When i reset the device (POCO M3) i got the "android the system has been destroyed" message. What can i do to solve it please?

Hi, so I was trying to flash MIUI back to my Redmi Note 9 Pro (Joyeuse Global) device and for some reason I had this "System has been destroyed" error. When I try to do this not script is running after running the .bat file. I also noticed that my device isn't on the list when I try to use "adb devices" or "fastboot devices".

does this also work for redmi note 7. I followed the process but it won't work on my phone. Tt says:

Hi bro my realme X2 pro phone was stucked and it not go to the boot loader and fastboot mode.then it shows the boot loader image has destroyed.
Happened to me after locking bootloader. I flashed Pixel Expirience ROM and wanted to lock the bootloader and then shown this screen... Helped Mi Unlock with unlocking bootloader again.
I did everything but it's just till me that flash_all.bat
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>flash_all
'flash_all' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

you're not putting these files in the same folder as your ADB/FAstboot files are in. and/or you aren't executing this flash_all.bat file in that SAME folder

no, you need to have the bootloader unlocked before this video will work. instead, watch the video as I mention EDL mode needed for locked bootloaders

I would boot the phone into recovery mode (you can do this with the button combination, you just need to time the presses when the phone reboots). and then do a factory reset

Good! the redmi note 8t has the bootloader locked i tried your method i tried to delete some entries like xbl, xblbak and more inside the 3 flashes nothing Miflash tool Miflash pro the other phones are managed to unlock they had the bootloader unlocked but this nothing I also tried with the prompt tool inside qualcomm_driver do you have something new?

that sounds like your bootloader is locked. you'll either need to boot into Android and go through the official unlock process. or find the hardware mod (usually involves taking the back off the phone) to enable EDL Mode). . .you can then flash the firmware in EDL mode (instead of fastboot mode)

you're not executing that command from the SAME folder as the firmware you just downloaded/extracted. those files need to be in your adb/fastboot folder
Hello, I have to say that the tutorial is very clear first! I have an issue with my note 8 at the step 7 when i execute the flash_all.bat file. I see the 1st line appear, with at the end : "echo Missmatching image and device" but nothing else happens. I even tried without the phone connected to have the same result. Do you have any lead?
hi, thank you for the kind words. that sounds like the firmware you downloaded does NOT match the device you actually own. make sure you're downloading the correct firmware that matches the phone/codename of your device
this can be confusing with Xiaomi devices since they release so many different variants

I realized why there might be such an error. It could be the connector. I just connected the device to the computer in fastboot mode and bent the cable with the phone so that Windows notified about the connected device with a sound, and then frantically tried to run the file

Yes mine also same problem the PC is not detecting my phone
without access to that setting, your best bet would be to find a way to get the phone into EDL mode (which usually requires a hardware mod)
I have the same problem as in the video but i have logged out the account from the device. So the error is that the phone cannot be unlocked. I can't turn on my phone. Can you help me out.
