The schedule should be made so northern teams play their first month/6 week away and the southern teams play at home. People forget SLC is at the same latitude as NYC. They have snowy winters.
Worst game ever. 2 hour delay... came back, watched 4 minutes... delayed again, walked to my truck, took a nap, woke up to heavy snow... figured the game was canceled... found out I slept through the game.

Basically half the league. It isn’t feasible. Playing in the elements (whether snow, heat, whatever else) is part of MLS. You can’t just reschedule games whenever the weather isn’t like temperate Spain, France or England because then they’d be playing in summer when it’s like an oven in SLC and then they’d complain about that too.

I remember playing in this type of snow storm a long time ago when we travelled to Lake Placid from Montreal. It was a game that I never forgot as a 16 year old. 😊.

living in Taiwan I've never really experienced snow. wonder how much it affects the field, or the game in general? like does the field become more slippery? also do players have to change gears to accomodate for the weather midgame?
It can get slippery but another of the time you won't notice it when running. What you will notice is the ball stopping unexpectedly and slide tackles being better
You definitely have to move differently, the ground is softer though, so that is nice. It actually was terribly cold during them game, so it was mostly just dealing with being wet and the ball behaving poorly 😂

I practiced with my intramural college team today at the same time this game was going on and it really was something. We had beautiful weather at first and the next thing we knew there was pelting hail. Pretty fun though, I kind of love playing in blizzard conditions.

Reminds me of playing football at school in the winter. Freezing cold snow and wind. No gloves. Just a thin cotton shirt and shorts ( really short) and socks . Playing football in England in a school that was in the countryside. When the ball hit your leg it was stinging then later your legs became so cold you could not feel anything. Great days in the late 1960’s early 1970’s. 😂
