This event feels like they were told to make a christmas event but then they realized that there is nothing christmas related without seasons.
Truly, this is exactly it. 🤣
Though at least the Halloween one had extra tasks if you had Realm of Magic or Get Together or Paranormal Stuff. They didn’t even add a single thing if you have Seasons did they?
That's why Seasons totally NEED to be made 100% base game, and everyone who bought it reimbursed.

- Disable rain. (no rain at all)
- Disable rain storm. (just light rain)
- Disable snow. (no snow at all)
- Disable snow storm. (just gentle snow)

A small tip about restaurants: Instead of asking for a table in the host station, click the table of your choice and select request table.

That task is not broken though, 0/2 just means you need to do it twice
The reason we're stuck doing the same tasks every time is because there is no Holiday gameplay. I mean sure if you have seasons there are "holidays" but all the traditions are American not other places. And if you don't have seasons there is literally nothing but decorations. So all they can have us do is cook something that has a description talking about other traditions, and talk to people using the half-baked "ask about traditions" interaction they put in. There really isn't much else they can ask people to do. Especially since everyone complained about the Reaper event tasks being different for everyone and that it "wasn't fair that base game got the stuff easy because they don't have packs". So they have to give everyone base game tasks this time... the whole thing is a hot mess and I wish they'd reconsider how they want to do events in the sims.
Yes I agree people should not complain about variety, now we just have repetetive base game task ...
Reason #1479 why it was colossally idiotic to put so many of the transformative, fundamental game updates behind DLCs. EA have literally boxed themself into a corner where they can't run meaningful events because nigh-on every relevant feature is behind various paywalls.

Lovestruck is so annoying, i had to disable attraction because my sims dont know what romance is after they have kids
I disabled the whole pack. No couples overrunning everything, no constant notifications that my sim is - * gasp * - ~single~ and I should fix it right away, etc.

@@asdfghappy you have to constantly be romantic towards your partner, otherwise they start getting unsatisfied and they threaten you with a divorce if you are mean to them 🤣
I got the pack on sale for the build and buy mostly (certainly not for the gameplay)

Yeah generic community lots do not attract townies at all. It seems to me that Sims in Sims 4 need that additional lot specification to know what to do on a lot. Generic lots can get bought by townie Sims (at least with in a modded save with MCCC) but that's about it.
as much as I’m game for getting free stuff easily this is just silly. You broke my UI cheats again for this? At least the Reaper Event had a little more substance.
I think they should have made these scenarios. Like, let me choose to procrastinate until I have the mental space to deal with my mods folder. I honestly wish they’d bring scenarios back in general.
I feel like the “make up limited time quests” team just gave up halfway through Reaper Rewards and that’s why it had no ending and this one’s phoned in

Everything in this game is such a disaster because everything requires a pack so making anything base game friendly means it can’t have anything in it 😭

I said that since they already had the programming created from the Halloween event; it appears all they did was reuse the shell programming and just quickly plopped in all the tasks without much thought or effort. I have to wonder if they were working on something bigger, but some CEO scraped the idea and just said "Reuse the Grim Reaper event so we can save money" and then gave them like a week to get it ready for launch.

I'm just saying that because they are reusing the old programming, it's obvious they didn't want to spend a lot of time on this event so they just quickly threw something together so they could advertise a new event. That's how these billion dollar companies work. They want as much low cost advertising as possible.
@@marksmorphs its prolly the new way they plan to do these events and tbh its a better format to the old events I must admit which means you get the items in all saves not just the save you did it in

I would really like it if the Sims people could take some inspiration from the No Mans Sky devs and actually make their events about exploring gameplay mechanics that a lot of people have likely not gotten into. However, because ALL the Sims 4 activities and gameplay mechanics that would fit into this category are from paid dlc, they can't do that.
I am so glad I watched this! Other than for the laughs, of course! I couldn't figure out why my house could not have the proper door as the front door! It was because of the d@mn wreath from the event! Could they just do one thing without it breaking everything? just one?

Honestly I'm just glad you can have dates in restaurants now they've fixed it I was very disappointed when I tried to take my sim on a dinner date n they couldn't get a table 😢
