  • A day in the life of Sheba, a guide/service dog who accompanies her handled to college!
    A peak at her sample schedule:
    8:20 Kibble and Water
    12:00 Water
    5:30 Kibble and Water
    My guess is that Sheba goes busy (pees) approximately six to eight times a day and poops one to times times.
    She will go approximately 10-12 hours overnight without going out to busy.
    I always measure her water because if I know what goes it when, I can predict what will need to come out and when.

    For all the busy buddies out there she got her service dog from a school for the blind in New York. Not everyone who is legally blind wears dark glasses and sways like Stevie Wonder. She actually doesn't have to answer the two ADA questions since she is blind. In fact it's against Federal ADA Law to ask those questions for guide dogs for the blind.

    • @maikelly8135
      @maikelly8135 6 лет назад +5

      ipsurvivor actually it’s not against the ADA law to ask people who are blind. Guide dogs are considered service animals so it’s not illegal

    • @danielleg.1084
      @danielleg.1084 4 года назад +2

      zara k Idk if it’s considered illegal but in the ada it states that if it’s not obvious what tasks the dog preforms you may ask the two questions. In Her case since she uses a guide dog is obvious. The original comment was correct.

      @@danielleg.1084 I use a guide harness for my psychiatric service dog, my disability isnt obvious either, so am I exempt from answering the 2 questions too as many mistake me for being blind, especially if Im wearing sunglasses outside? ADA doesnt state that businesses cant ask if its obvious, many just dont ask because they figure it out on their own so theres no reason to ask, its not illegal to ask though

      @@danielleg.1084 what i meant was that my dog appears to be a guide dog and yet she isnt, so where does the questioning end? If asked my answer would greatly differ from a blind persons yet I can be asked but a blind person cant because they " look" blind even though both our dogs wear the same equipment. So exactly what does a blind person look like then? Most of my dogs commands are the same as a guide dogs and yet she serves a completely different function and yet my dog and I can be asked

    Living with a family who is almost completely blind, and a great grandmother who has had measles and is completely blind, i seemingly understand where your coming from. My sister is going into college and I’m so stressed and worried for her, since I’m so afraid she will fall or trip on something somehow. But to the point, your dog is so cute and she is a wonderful guide dog. Checking on you every few moments.

    My Cane Corso when she was young, thought she had to have grass to go to the bathroom. One time when we were in Arizona, I got her out and there wasn't any grass, she just wandered around looking. After a few minutes, I went back to my truck and got my old Pitbull out. We started toward the back of the trailer, when were about half way back, I told her to go under. She went right under the trailer and did her business. The Cane Corso watched her. When my Pitbull was done, she came back out. I then told my Cane Corso to go under. She went to about the edge of the trailer and did her business. I looked at it as a start.
    When I got sick in Colorado, the police took both my dogs into protective custody and boarded them at the pound. When I got out and went to get them, we came out and there was nothing but dirt because of some construction going on. I looked at my Cane Corso and said, it's just like Arizona, they don't have any grass here. She went over by the truck and went to the bathroom. The lady that was with us just started laughing.

      Morgan Gallagher to my knowledge most guide dogs for people who aren't fully sighted are trained to only go on concrete because it's easier for someone who isn't sighted to find it rather than on grass

    • @haldouglas4773
      @haldouglas4773 6 лет назад +4

      Morgan Gallagher Because it's easier to see with low vision (think finding a magnet while sleepy in your dark carpet versus on your kitchen floor) and because service dogs are trained to go on any surface their handler asks-if there's no grass nearby, the next best place would be gravel or concrete!

      tylr josph - Blind people and others whose disability/disabilities are obvious are exempt from the famous “two questions”... in fact it’s against Federal Disability Law to asks the two questions to someone who is obviously disabled. The questions only apply to those who have disabilities that are not obvious. The exception of course would be if a blind person should be in authority to ask the question since the disability might not be obvious in that case. It also depends on who you mean by “they”. Typically those allowed to ask the two questions to those without obvious disabilities are those who work or volunteer for Title II and Title III ADA covered entities... mostly we’re talking TITLE III entities which include restaurants, grocery and retail stores, etc... If “They” are/is College Administrators/Staff processing the new student in they are typically allowed and need more information to accommodate the student with the disability and the working service dog. ADA Law can still be involved with Colleges but because of housing and other issues FHAct and The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Code 504 can also overlap jurisdiction. But random individuals who are not involved with the person’s admittance and reasonable accommodation with the service animal have no right to ask the two questions... A non covered person can ask but the disabled person doesn’t need to tell those with no need to know.
      This matter is covered by Question 7 in the following from the Department of Justice’s website:

      Uhh, to collect a disability pension and all the other government goodies handouts for starters? And I'm not talking about people with REAL disabilities such as blindness or wheelchair bound. This is about you "PTSD" "Anxiety" lazy assholes who are too busy playing video games in your parent(s) basement to get a fucking job, so you feel entitled for the rest of the country to support you, cradle to grave. Good thing the Normandy invasion was not filled with you whiny snowflakes, because we'd all be speaking German now.

    • @soof9727

      lizard944, PTSD and anxiety are legitimate disabilities, and there are service dogs for those disabilities too! You are probably just an 11y/o who thinks they're being tough but in reality you're bringing others down to feel higher up, and that's not OK.

    • @lizard944
      @lizard944 7 лет назад

      I'm teaching people to have self-respect and self-esteem and to not feel like you need to broadcast your "disabilities" to the world in order to gain attention and sympathy that your parent(s) never gave you. Everyone has anxiety and stress in life and the social disorders these snowflakes have is environmental by having poor parents and a poor upbringing. Coddling these flakes only compounds the problem. I recommend two years in the military to gain some confidence and self respect. Seem to have enough time to make all of these fucking videos, then you have enough time to serve your country and gain some valuable lessons in life.
