But the attraction between Martin German American woman Betty happened and ended before King even met Coretta Scott. At any rate, who he wanted to marry before meeting Coretta is less important than his later wanting and actually marrying Coretta. it is fortunate both for him and for the Movement that he married Coretta.
Knowing the history of AKA, I was shocked that Dr. King's wife had pledged such!!! By the grace of God. I was able to maintain my enormous respect for her after gaining the knowledge of such. Haters beware, I was more than eligible to join when I was an undergraduate, yet my father protested vehemently against my pledging. He threatened to disown me if I joined a group with separatist origins. Because he raised me in an egalitarian atmosphere, I agreed with him. No bright, l.... and almost w.... for us.
