I'm 18 and I've been trying to sing this well since I was 11. I can FINALLY do so. "Be" was always where I fell short, but now that I've perfected my head voice, I'm able to mix it with my chest voice a little bit during that note and I'm very proud of myself. So, let this be a lesson. If anyone reading this is self-conscious because they can't sing it, keep practicing. Try different techniques. This song is difficult, so not singing it amazingly isn't anything to be ashamed of. I believe in all of you. You got this
Congrats !! I went to see the musical with my high-school choir class and became obsessed with the soundtrack. I would belt the songs at home, alone. Lol Extremely formative soundtrack. .
I’m going to show this to one of the teachers in charge of school productions at my school because my friend and I asked him if we could do POTO next year and he argued against us and brought up how the vocals are crazy insane, especially in music of the night. Then I said back to him that the vocals don’t need to be exact because it’s only a high school production. We finished it there because the bell rang but I’m going to go back to him next time I see him and continue our argument. I already have it all planned out in my head. Edit: I’m really scared if preforming in front of a crowd so if the production next year is something that I’m passionate about (POTO for example) then I might push myself out of my comfort zone and audition. But I’m also going to wait to watch the production this year (which my friends are in) and see how many people come to watch.😊

@@_the_rizzler thanks for getting back to me but "breath control" as an answer doesn't really help me. I have tried releasing breath slowly. I have tried timing myself as I have walked across city blocks. I have tried different things and haven't found anything yet. In saying this, this was one of my last 2 songs for the karaoke competition and though I didn't get to the next stage that night a judge sought me out and made sure to tell me "awesome job". I knew the judges liked it but I just really want to get that last note and length...like you have.
Have you tried breathing into your lower belly? Hard to explain on RUclips, but that's the best way. Maybe speak to a singing teacher about some breathing exercises?
@@moniquevandeplas5210 Vibrate the vocal chords and try to hold, not really breathing. I was a scuba diver for many years. Shallow breathing was a skill.
I get really into it when I’m singing and let me tell you the instrumental bit gets awkward without a Christine to faint in my arms. I’m just staring into space 😂
It’s times like this i’m thankful to be a baritone I could sing all of the song just fine except for that one note. After 6 months of working on it I just completely nailed that note along with the 4 times i did right after it

first u have to hit the note using your throat as open as you can, even if it sounds like you are yelling. Dig deep and relax...from there u can smooth it out. Thats my advice to a novice singer, its not as hard as you think just sometimes nerves close the throat up and that wont help you. Keep at it!

I forgot how good I am at singing this...last time I preformed for anyone my buddy put me on the spot infront of hella people so I sang it to his GF lol
You also have to remember that he never was taught right from wrong. The Opera house is all he knows. He basically is acting on what he's seen in shows, which is murder, misogynism, everything to the max. He isn't justified in what he does, but you also have to remember he's essentially a child.

I had a tough time learning this, my teciture is just too small and my Voice vibrantes a lot. But practice made it better.

first u have to hit the note using your throat as open as you can, even if it sounds like you are yelling. Dig deep and relax...from there u can smooth it out. Thats my advice to a novice singer, its not as hard as you think just sometimes nerves close the throat up and that wont help you. Keep at it!

You also have to remember that he never was taught right from wrong. The Opera house is all he knows. He basically is acting on what he's seen in shows, which is murder, misogynism, everything to the max. He isn't justified in what he does, but you also have to remember he's essentially a child.
