- How To Play Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice. Acoustic Guitar Lesson. A beautiful song by Damien Rice, great fun to play and sing. It's fairly easy to play if you are comfortable with playing bass notes over the neck with your thumb and also using barre chords. No tricky riffs or strumming patterns but the song does have some spots where the chords don't change on the beat.
*You can play the bass notes with your first finger instead of you thumb if you prefer, however this is very tricky to do on the C#m chord, unless you change it to a full barre and emit the open B and E strings.

The strumming pattern is so loose for this song it's tricky to give a definite answer! I'm mostly using D D DUDU D DU, but any variation on this would work really. Damien Rice often goes to single strums on the Chorus section live, and his strumming pattern varies a lot depending on which version you listen to!
